Hillary Clinton flounders on
the Benghazi front

It was not exactly a bravura performance today from the Secretary of State, who testified this morning before the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations. Hillary Clinton came across as defiant, evasive, blasé, and at times hugely unconvincing when answering questions from Republican Senators about the death of four Americans at the hand of Islamist terrorists in Benghazi last September, including the assassination of the US Ambassador to Libya, Christopher Stevens. After listening to several hours of Mrs. Clinton defending her administration’s handling of the Benghazi debacle, including UN Ambassador Susan Rice’s preposterous suggestion on Sunday morning talk shows

Nile nails it. And whoever was responsible for choosing the accompanying photograph--congratulations! It´s the kind of lunch-losing apparel mistake Clinton usually makes instead of the somber and symbolic Islam Green she wore at the hearing today.

It is sad to watch the hearings! We need better than what we see! Questions need to be asked to get to the truth, not disavow any responsibility!

Hillary snickers and her liberal friends support/congratulate her constantly, instead of really seeking answers to what happened in Benghazi!

With the way first a Republican then a Democrat questions Hillary, it simply gives each one time to posture themselves and their personal agenda.

We need a hearing wherein truth is sought and only the questions are asked that will bring about what "really happened"!

Again, this is not our best moment!

Congress needs to make a stand for righteousness, not political-correctness!

Pray for America!

This is not the country I once thought provided truth to be honored/respected/sought.

Look back to Watergate, where the Dems were totally committed to questioning everyone to prove their point.

The Dems do not judge their own, only excuse them, congratulate them for "getting away" with whatever they have done.

The Clintons have proved they know how to "use" the law to their advantage!

This is not a picture taken today. It is deceiving to have put it with the article.

I´m trying to select the biggest whopper told by hillary, and must conclude that it was when she said that the State department did not question the survivors of the attack, because the FBI was going to investigate. But the FBI did not send agents to Benghazi for a month, and CNN went into the consulate a few days after the attack, and found all sorts of documents.
(The republicans have been pitifully incompetent in their questioning so far, with the exception of Senator Johnson.)

~~It underscores the fact that Clinton has been a less than impressive Secretary of State, whose leadership on an array of foreign policy matters, from Syria to Egypt and Iran, has been underwhelming.~~

SOMEONE finally says it! Listening to the boot-licking demoRat members is beyond sickening!

Reply 6 - Posted by: flatwater, 1/23/2013 4:11:02 PM     (No. 9134902)

What else would we expect?

The Pig-in-a-Pantsuit lied about the "vast, right-wing conspiracy." She lied about "landing under sniper fire" in Bosnia. She lied about the Rose Law Firm billing records. She lied about the White House travel office. She lied about Vince Foster.

Bill and Hillary Clinton are congenital liars. Lying is what they do best. Lies are all you´ll get if you put either of them under oath.

This is okay with Democrats. The Democrat Party is founded on lies, subsists on lies, and is comprised of the most pathological liars in history.

This is who these people are.

Reply 7 - Posted by: KanCreeper, 1/23/2013 4:13:15 PM     (No. 9134906)

Basicly, Hillary provided not a heck of a lot of help, and no illumination as to what went on both in Benghazi and in the Bawdy House at 1600 Penn Ave. About all she accomplished was to polish the door knobs on her way out of office.
And you know her replacement Senator Lurch will be of no help...Most probably;"... Blame Bush and the Republicans..."

At times i wanted to throw something at the screen; at others, to throw up.

The faux tears. ugh. The pompous outrage atthe insistance that we know who was behind the attack, and why.

If knowing why the attacks happened doesn´t really matter, why were Hill-of-beans and BO & Dem/Lefties so insistent on blaming a stupid (unknown) video?

It all matters otherwise she and the whole unseemly regime would not have done everything possible to deflect investigation and interrogation until after the election.

When she was being praised for her "hard work" why didn´t someone ask why wine tasting in Australia (?) was more urgent that testifying in Congress?

sickening.

Reply 9 - Posted by: pomom, 1/23/2013 4:30:49 PM     (No. 9134943)

She also said there was no real-time video of the actual attack. We were told all along that it was watched in real time and people from the state dept. testified that they watched it in real time.

You folks are too much. Do you really think this will matter? They will paint this as a partisan attack (war on a woman) against an old enemy, Hillary.

If Obama´s record didn´t matter prior to the election, do you think this will matter? It should, but it won´t.

I know you did, OP, but #2 obviously missed it and thought the horrible picture was from today.

Brit Hume was wearing an Islam Green tie tonight the same color as Hillary´s suit. Interesting. He also blamed the Republican Senators and Congressmen for pontificating and talking on and on so they couldn´t press her on her answers before their time was up. This always happens in these hearings.

Today millions of Americans were laughing and hooting when she started with the crocodile tears. Ridicule is what she deserves. Just get a kick out of thinking how the Alinsky treatment came home to roost.

What information did Hillary even offer today? She is just "flaunting" her position in the Liberal party and those in the Senate and House upheld her too.

This is America today!

Pray for our beloved country.

We really do deserve better!j

On May 3 1999, Moore was one of several cities left devastated after 74 tornadoes touched down across Oklahoma and Kansas in just 21 hours. Following a path similar to yesterday´s lethal twister, the storms that struck the city 14 years ago to the month left 46 dead and 800 injured. Due to the high number of mobile homes and less robust housing in this part of the US, more than 8,000 homes were destroyed. It caused almost $1.5 billion in property damage making it the fourth costliest in the world. The National Weather Service also recorded wind speeds

WASHINGTON - President Barack Obama says he is instructing his disaster response team to get tornado victims in Oklahoma everything they need "right away." Obama calls the devastation that tore through the Oklahoma City suburbs, quote, "one of the most destructive tornados in history," even though he said the extent of the damage is still unknown. Obama spoke Tuesday after an Oval Office briefing on the latest developments from his disaster response team and as Federal Emergency Management Agency Director Craig Fugate was heading to Oklahoma. Dan Pfeiffer’s job title is “senior advisor to the president for strategy and communications.” And on five television shows Sunday, he all too clearly communicated the White House’s strategy of remaining unclear on pertinent details about scandals now dogging President Barack Obama. “Fox News” host Chris Wallace pressed Mr. Pfeiffer on “one lingering question” about last Sept. 11’s terrorist attack on the U.S. diplomatic facility in Benghazi, Libya: “What did the president do that night?” After Mr. Pfeiffer tried a few end runs, Mr. Wallace asked: “Was he in the Situation Room?”

WASHINGTON – The Internal Revenue Serviced scandal today spread further within the White House and closer to President Obama. White House spokesman Jay Carney today disclosed that Obama’s chief of staff, Dennis McDonough, and other top White House officials had advance warning that the IRS was targeting conservative groups. But he insisted McDonough and the other White House officials purposely kept Obama out of the loop.McDonough “rightly chose not to take action” to inform Obama, Carney told reporters at the daily White House briefing.

The Washington Post on Monday reported that Obama’s Department of Justice was investigating journalists before they started wiretapping the Associated Press – for one, Fox News correspondent James Rosen in 2010. Their headline wasn´t "Obama Team Also Spied on Fox News." Fox wasn´t in the headline, on A-1 or on A-12, where the story continued. Newly obtained court documents “reveal how deeply investigators explored the private communications of a working journalist — and raise the question of how often journalists have been investigated as closely as Rosen was in 2010.” Reporter Ann Marimow began:

Lois Lerner, the head of the exempt organizations division of the IRS, won’t answer questions about what she knew about the improper screening – or why she didn’t reveal it to Congress, according to a letter from her defense lawyer, William W. The wheels came off the Obama administration yesterday. We learned of a startling assault on freedom of the press by the Department of Justice, following the revelation last week of the unprecedented information-gathering foray by that department against The Associated Press. Then, a few minutes later, the Justice Department’s inspector general released a report declaring that the US attorney in Arizona used the leak of a confidential memo to try to discredit a whistleblower in the notorious “gun-walking” scandal known as Fast and Furious (which got two federal agents killed). The leak was called “egregious.”

A senior adviser to President Obama mounted a combative defense of the administration on Sunday, saying the controversies enveloping the White House were the result of Republican lawmakers’ trying to “drag Washington into a swamp of partisan fishing expeditions, trumped-up hearings and false allegations.”The remarks came from Dan Pfeiffer, a member of the president’s inner circle, as he appeared on all five major Sunday morning talk shows in an effort to move the administration past what commentators have described as a “hell week” of controversy and missteps.

While many Americans were tuned into news coverage of the massive damage from tornadoes ravaging the state of Oklahoma, Rhode Island Democratic Sen.
