| Nebraska Gov. Dave Heineman notified the Obama administration Tuesday that he has approved the controversial Keystone XL Pipeline to traverse his state, marking a significant step toward reviving the project after President Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton sidelined it. The Republican governor approved a revised route for the Canada-to-Texas pipeline which his office said would avoid environmentally sensitive areas. "Construction and operation of the proposed Keystone XL Pipeline, with the mitigation and commitments from Keystone would have minimal environmental impacts in Nebraska," he wrote in a letter to Obama and Clinton. he decision on final approval now

FTA: "The president had previously cited the Nebraska´s concerns about the pipeline as a key obstacle to approving the pipeline. (Snip) "In Heineman´s letter, the governor said construction in Nebraska would yield $418 million in economic benefits."
The Nebraska "concerns" were the usual suspects, the eco-terrorist trying to stop any job creation, anywhere. Now, we will see if money in this last 0bamanation trumps all. He needs the taxes for his future social programs to "succeed."

This is good for our entire economy. The EPA be damned!
Cheaper gas lowers prices and increases peoples´ abilities to spend money on other things. Anyone who ever crossed the threshold of an Econ class also knows it will increase revenues for our greedy politicians.

I expect that Warren Buffets railroad played a part in denying approval for the Keystone pipeline to begin with. Remember that he likes paying higher taxes as long as his crony capitalism brings him in billions.

I think he will approve it. I just read that he wants to wait until March. Don´t know his reason for postponing until March to become a "Savior". He must have other dirty tricks in store for us in Jan. and Feb.

We learned of a startling assault on freedom of the press by the Department of Justice, following the revelation last week of the unprecedented information-gathering foray by that department against The Associated Press. Then, a few minutes later, the Justice Department’s inspector general released a report declaring that the US attorney in Arizona used the leak of a confidential memo to try to discredit a whistleblower in the notorious “gun-walking” scandal known as Fast and Furious (which got two federal agents killed). The leak was called “egregious.”

WASHINGTON – A top IRS official in the division that reviews nonprofit groups will invoke the Fifth Amendment and refuse to answer questions before a House committee investigating the agency’s improper screening of conservative nonprofit groups.
