Trip to inauguration turns into
a nightmare for Spring women

KHOU [Houston TX], by Andrew Horansky

SPRING -The price seemed too good to be true: $300 for a round-trip bus tour to the presidential inauguration in Washington, D.C. with a hotel night included. For Aesha Godfrey, it turned out to be a bumpy ride in more ways than one. “I’m so angry,” she said. Godfrey, her mother, her aunt and some friends booked the trip online. It was even advertised on the Dallas County Democratic Party’s website. The bus left Austin early Saturday and had a pickup in Dallas, which is where the women drove to meet up with the group.

It shows how bad I am but I laugh. I laugh out loud. These people are the first to get dumped on. The first to get laid off. The first to lose benefits. The first to get taken for a free ride which costs twice as much as expected. The first to get a free phone and an EBT card which guarantees they stay on the plantation. And the first to vote once more for those who keep the gate locked to prosperity.

I am also willing to bet that these women got screamingly violent with the bus driver which is why he threatened to call the cops.

It´s a black female thing to go absolutely ballistic over the smallest problem.

Godfrey, her mother, her aunt and some friends booked the trip online. It was even advertised on the Dallas County Democratic Party’s website.

The temptation is to say the advertisement being on the Democratic Party´s website should have been the first clue. But, perhaps we should be a bit more understanding of these women. They either trusted out of ignorance, or decided to try it because they wanted to believe so badly what the Party told them was trustworthy this time.

How many times have we been disappointed when the things we´ve been told by Republicans left us feeling deceived and angry? No, it isn´t surprising that something like this could happen to these women. But, what is happening to us is becoming not so surprising as well.

Granted things may not be as bad for us, but we should be able to commiserate with them just a bit anyway.

#17, no, it is more like a female thing. Yes, black women are known to be more agressive than the men in general. But it is silly to assume that all black women are agressive. I know a LOT of white women who are just as agressive -- if not sometime worse! And I am a woman.

On Tuesday morning, a plane owned in trust by the Bank of Utah showed up in a very visible area of the Mehrabad Airport in Tehran, the capital of the Islamic Republic of Iran. What was it doing there exactly? Nobody knows, reports The New York Times. Under President Barack Obama, the United States has eased some of the long-standing punitive economic sanctions against Iran. Still, very little American — or European — economic activity is allowed inside the religious theocracy. The Bank of Utah is certainly no Wells Fargo. The Ogden-based community bank has all of 13 branches including

The ferry, carrying 476 passengers, many of them schoolchildren, and crew, capsized on Wednesday on a journey from the port of Incheon to the southern holiday island of Jeju. Some 174 people have been rescued and hopes were fading for those still missing. The divers saw the bodies in a submerged cabin where many of the children

With the Chicago weather finally getting a little nicer, Chris Anderssen wanted to grill some burgers outside for a group of family and friends. When she got to the meat aisle at her local Jewel-Osco supermarket, a case of sticker shock made her change the menu: extra lean ground beef was $4.99 a pound. "Five adults, four teenagers, that´s a lot of hamburger to buy," said Anderssen, a 42-year-old mother of two who works as an office manager. She bought chicken instead for $2.99 a pound. Retail beef and pork prices reached all-time highs last month, according to Bill Hahn, agricultural

President Obama addressed the White House press corps today, announcing that with the final numbers in, Obamacare´s exchanges have attracted eight million sign-ups -- 35 percent of whom are "under the age of 35," he said. Several elements of his comments were misleading: (1) At first blush, the 35 percent stat is both significant and impressive. As recently as last month, the share of "young invincibles" signing up for plans was struggling in the 25 percent range, far short of the actuarial target of nearly 40 percent. A leap into the mid-30´s, while still shy of the goal, would constitute a major step, and would bode well for the risk pools'

Second, the Obama administration, clearly embarrassed by these lavish and frequent family vacations, stonewalls the release of records at every turn. But we have been relentless in pursuit of this information. Our attorneys file the lawsuits and make our case, and our investigators pour through pages of records and crunch the numbers. Imagine a vendor on the National Mall, selling burgers and dogs, who hasn’t paid his rent in 20 years. He refuses to recognize his landlord, the National Park Service, as a legitimate authority. Every court has ruled against him, and fines have piled up. What’s more, the effluents from his food cart are having a detrimental effect on the spring grass in the capital. Would an armed posse come to his defense, aiming their guns at the park police? Would the lawbreaker get prime airtime on Fox News, breathless updates in the Drudge Report, a sympathetic ear from Tea Party Republicans?
