Among the dozens of A-list celebrities attending President Obama´s second inauguration, one famous face was notably absent. Oprah, the queen of media who was once considered Obama´s staunchest celebrity supporter, skipped the inaugural festivities this year and instead jetted out of the country for a couple speaking engagements. Her absence was glaring after the role she played in Obama´s 2008 campaign and his inauguration in 2009. Oprah´s backing of Obama in 2008 was her first ever political endorsement. She joined Obama on the campaign trail from Iowa to South Carolina to New Hampshire,

Comments:
The Mooch has spoken. Oprah is not allowed near her husband. Winfrey will never acknowledge that her ratings decline started to slide downward after she openly displayed her adoration for 0bama.

There won´t be any more elections, so the don´t need her anymore. They´re in for life and the lives of their lovely daughters.

Used and abused by the O´s.

What a surprise.

Nice that she woke up. Seems others are still on the plantation.

Oh yeah. They had a huge falling out and I read where Moochelle was very jealous of Oprah. She threw a fit one time when O was talking to Oprah on his cell phone. Read it was nasty.

I think dear Opa realized that she´d better steer clear of any association with the Historical Firsts while she tries to resuscitate her falling empires. Like the ObaHustlers she puts herself first.

How much of Oprah´s diminished popularity can be directly attributed to her entanglement with the Obamas? Married women, who probably formed a large part of her audience, went overwhelmingly for Romney. She burned bridges with her audience and now POTUS and FLOTUS have no more use for her. She was a useful idiot, but now she´s not even useful anymore.

Oprah was too close to the president . . . Oprah was acting like she was the first lady . . . Oprah didn’t know her place . . . Oprah was a bad influence . . . Valerie advised Michelle to “distance herself” from Oprah and cut her out of the White House. Michele also turned her nose up at Oprah because she was fat.

Reply 9 - Posted by: Memphis, 1/22/2013 1:57:49 PM     (No. 9132667)

Michelle is very jealous, I would say unusually so. Most people after years of marriage have trust and don´t follow their husbands around and check on them. Michelle doesn´t seem to trust Barack at all. She insists on knowing his every movement and drops in on him at all kinds of odd times. It´s been the buzz of the White House. Oprah has gossiped about it and giggled about how obsessive Michelle is.

I would think that Michelle would be more jealous of all the time BO spends with his young "golfing" buddies.

Reply 11 - Posted by: wtm, 1/22/2013 2:20:55 PM     (No. 9132726)

It might also mean, that as a business person, Oprah has realized what Obama is now doing to her !!!!!

Reply 12 - Posted by: ncgrammie4, 1/22/2013 2:22:28 PM     (No. 9132727)

The real problem is that Michelle and Valerie are two of the Obama day to day handlers and "Okra" was inserting herself into the mix without proper authority. Also, Oprah can´t be trusted to keep all of the dirty little secrets of the regime. She may decide to do a show on Obama secrets, that we may be interested in, to boost her ratings. Don´t kid yourself they laid the law down on her and she got out of the way.

Oprah will find out that she too is included in the "rich" and be taxed beyond her imagination! She was just "used" and now she is not "needed" anymore.

This is what happens when God is ignored and His Word is denied, as well as His Way that leads to true Righteousness (God with US)!

It might have been because Michelle said 0prah was fat, and she did not want her around anymore. Michelle did not need 0prah once her husband was elected.

Count me among those who think Oprah is taking care of Oprah this time around.

She used to be the one known as "O". But, helping launch that other "O" hurt her "O"prah brand and lifted "O"bama´s.

She is back to dancing with what brung her to the dance.

If you were Oprah and your ´friend´, the president, was demeaning the wealthy as selfish pigs, wouldn´t you be angry. She should be angry, most especially, because she has been very generous with her money and kept a lot of people employed until she came out in support of him for president in the first election. This is the gratitude that she gets. There is no gratitutude with a left winger; thank you maam, I don´t need you any more, I won.

Read "The Amature" How the so-called "Fust lady" treated Oprah is hilarious- Oprah is just not accustomed to such low treatment, especially from those she helped achieve high office. She was mighty PO´ed after that little fiasco.

Without the third O, Zippy wouldn´t have been elected. She had him on her show long before he was elected.

Four years ago they said the Wookie didn´t like Oooprah because she was fat, but liked her friend Gayle. Look who is one GMA now.

Then there was his b´day party in Chicago with Oooprah and the Wookie didn´t attend.

Maybe Oooprah will use the orphanage in Africa as her residence to avoid taxes.
Bye bye.

President Obama on Thursday nominated Victoria Nuland, a State Department official involved in the editing of the administration´s talking points on Benghazi, to be the next assistant secretary of state for European and Eurasian affairs. Nuland, a career foreign service officer who was until recently State´s top spokesperson, had long been expected to be nominated the post to replace Philip Gordon, who Obama picked to serve as Middle East coordinator for the National Security Council. Nuland´s nomination -- which requires Senate confirmation -- could come under scrutiny from Republicans who see her as playing a central role in shaping

America´s 100 million cable and satellite subscribers are forced to pay ever-higher bills for a growing number of channels they do not watch. The American people are being ripped off. Meanwhile, services such as iTunes and Netflix have led a revolution in how consumers purchase and experience music and video entertainment. They have upended entire industries to allow consumers to buy digital content where they want, when they want. Amid all this change, two entrenched interests — the cable television and video programming industries — have teamed up to use federal regulations to stack the deck against consumers.

Conservative radio host Mark Levin is very skeptical of the idea that President Obama had absolutely no idea about the IRS tea party targeting before the story broke in the news mere weeks ago. Levin declared adamantly that it is a “flat-out, bald-faced lie” that Obama didn’t know beforehand, citing prior reports by a few conservative news outlets picking up on the news well before the 2012 presidential election. Levin said, “I don’t believe for two seconds that Obama wasn’t aware of this.”

President Obama is a little uneasy with the way journalists have been dragged into the Justice Department’s aggressive pursuit of national security leak investigations. In fact, he has ordered Attorney General Eric Holder to conduct a 45-day review of the department’s guidelines on the issue. That bit of news was buried in the middle of the president’s hourlong speech today at National Defense University. “Journalists should not be at legal risk for doing their jobs,” President Obama said. “Our focus must be on those who break the law.” And then the news: “I have raised these issues with

Anthony Weiner’s nascent mayoral campaign is off to a rough start. Weiner made his candidacy for mayor of New York official in the wee hours of Wednesday morning, and since then there’s no indication that the process is going particularly well. The former rising star in the Democratic Party can’t shake the scandal that forced him to resign from Congress, and he may be throwing fuel on the fire. Asked this morning whether there was another shoe to drop in the sextweeting scandal that ousted him, Weiner admitted, Well, yeah.

White House press secretary Jay Carney could only explain his problems on Wednesday by telling reporters, "[T]here are a lot of you, and you´re good at your jobs and you´re smart." As easy as it might be for Carney to lob such insincere praise at former journalistic colleagues, such posterior osculations must be embarrassing for a White House so accustomed to having the press in its back pocket. Carney´s job has become more difficult in the past two weeks. Where his explanations were accepted at face value in the past, he is now met with deep skepticism. Suddenly, the

WASHINGTON – First she refused to testify. Now Lois Lerner, the IRS official at the center of the agency scandal, is refusing to resign, according to a top Republican senator. Sources confirmed to Fox News earlier Thursday that Lerner, the head of the IRS division that oversaw the unit targeting conservative groups, had been placed on administrative leave, with pay. But Sen. Charles Grassley, R-Iowa, claimed she was only put in that status after refusing to step down. He said the commissioner was in his right to demand her resignation, and said taxpayers

The public got its first look Thursday at Lois Lerner, who has gone from faceless IRS bureaucrat to the face that launched what feels like 1,000 congressional hearings and conspiracy theories. But it was only a brief sighting since she didn´t stay long at a House hearing to further probe her role in how some IRS workers came to target conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status. (Snip)She did make a short statement to declare her innocence, however. Lerner´s motivation was more transparent than much of what the IRS has done in connection with this controversy. When you get right down to it, the political targeting and stalling of tax-exempt applications by the IRS was an effort to defund the Tea Party. Rick Santelli, one of the Tea Party founders and my CNBC colleague, was the first to make this point. I’ve taken it a step further: The IRS was taking the Tea Party out of play for the 2012 election, as it looked to avoid a repeat of 2010 and another Tea Party landslide. There are a lot of numbers out there.

On “Fox News Sunday” last weekend, White House aide Dan Pfeiffer was asked about President Barack Obama’s whereabouts the night of the Sept. 11 attack in Benghazi. This was the night when we lost our first ambassador in 30 years, and when three other Americans were killed in an attack that lasted all night long at multiple locations within the eastern Libyan city. Since the president is commander in chief, one would think where he was and what he did during such an event would be of obvious public concern.

House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa said embattled IRS official Lois Lerner waived her Fifth Amendment rights and will be hauled back to appear before his panel again. The California Republican said Lerner’s Fifth Amendment right to avoid self-incrimination was voided when she gave an opening statement this morning denying any wrongdoing and professing pride in her government service. “When I asked her her questions from the very beginning, I did so so she could assert her rights prior to any statement,” Issa told POLITICO. “She chose not to do so — so she waived.”

Is the worm turning against Barack Obama? After four-plus years of being given the benefit of the doubt by the bulk of the US media, the President now suddenly feels more vulnerable. Today both the New York Times and the Washington Post have run prominent and angry editorials and columns slamming the administration for its attempt to criminalise a Fox News reporter James Rosen for working a State Department source to obtain a story. The "Rosen Affair"--as it is now known--is poisoning the well in Washington at an alarming rate for Mr Obama, with an indignant White House press corps
