U.S. gift of F-16 fighters headed to
Egypt, despite Morsi´s harsh rhetoric

Fox News, by Maxim Lott

Original Article

Posted By:earlybird, 1/22/2013 11:24:02 AM

Four F-16 fighter jets left the U.S. this morning, bound for Egypt as part of a foreign aid package critics say should have been scrapped when the nation elected a president who has called President Obama a liar and urged that hatred of Jews be instilled in children. A source who works on the Naval Air Force Base in Dallas confirmed the departure of the state-of-the-art fighter planes to FoxNews.com. Sixteen F-16s and 200 Abrams tanks are to be given to the Egyptian government before the end of the year under a $216 million foreign aid

Comments:
Deal was made in 2010 with Mubarak, a "longtime U. S. ally".

This is a direct result of Hussein´s hatred for Israel.

When will we stop supporting governments who encourage their citizens to hate Americas? It is, after all, our money - we should perhaps have a little more say in where it´s spent.

Yeah... I know, I´m just dreaming, especially with our Dictator in Chief.

Just a wild guess these fighters and tanks will eventually be used against Israel. Israel will destroy them all and Egypt will ask us to replace them which of course we will. I wouldn´t give one dime to that anti-Semetic Morsi.

I emailed my 2 senators and representative (all Republican)deploring them to stop this transfer based on Morsi´s comments about Israel and the US in a speach given in Arabic. Crickets. Not even an email reply although one of the senators has an auto-reply thanking you for teh email and promising to get back to you soon.

So what if the deal was made with Mubarak in 2010. It was not made with Morsi and it certainly wasn´t made with an avowed terrorist organization. If thye were a gift we should retract the gift. If they paid for them, we should return their money.

Giving Morsi and Egypt US F-16´s and Tanks is insane. US Policy ...Obama-Biden policy is overtly wrong-headed and could well force Israel to use a number of Tactical Nukes in the very near future since Israel lacks confidence Obama-Biden has their back.

Why can we not renig on deals? Just say NO and don´t send the fighters or money.

Reply 12 - Posted by: FL_Absentee_Voter, 1/22/2013 1:24:43 PM     (No. 9132598)

Headline is very misleading. Four F-16s that wouldn´t have a prayer against the Israeli Air Force is nothing compared to 200 Abrams tanks(!) - the most formidable desert-warfare weapon in the world.

I hope it´s a COD transaction because we might have a real president someday that will order that they all be destroyed-without human casualties, of course.

Reply 14 - Posted by: whyyeseyec, 1/22/2013 1:45:37 PM     (No. 9132641)

These fighter jets are to be `given` away for n-o-t-h-i-n-g!!! - eventually to be used against Israel!!!! If this isn`t high crimes and misdemeanors I don`t know what would qualify.

How far we have fallen. What would stop Egypt from `giving` one of these to Iran to deconstruct?

Romney would have nixed this giveaway in the first hour of his presidency, but then again Obama would have just moved up the `gift` to be sure they were gone before Romney took office.

On the other hand, if Israel were given all of the secret weaknesses of both weapons systems, or if we implanted passive devices in the software of both weapons systems that rendered them unusable.....

Sorry..just dreaming what our military leaders should or might do....

I am entertaining a fantasy that these will be used against Morsi.

How stupid can we get ? At what point will the weapons he gives away be used against US, nevermind Israel ?

Billions of dollars have gone to the ME, but let´s just nit pick on Medicare and Social Security. This from the group that can´t even balance the budget.

MSNBC host and Obama sycophant Chris Matthews blamed the sun for spoiling the president’s speech in Berlin today. “I think a lot of the problem he had today was the late afternoon sun in Berlin ruined his use of the teleprompter and so his usual dramatic windup was ruined,” Matthews said immediately after the speech. “I think he was really struggling with the text there.” Speaking behind a glass bulletproof shield, Obama appeared to be using the text of the speech rather than reading off of teleprompters.

ARDMORE, Pa. — Phil Mickelson is in a familiar position once again at the U.S. Open — to either finally close out a win in a tournament he truly cherishes or to suffer yet another maddening close call. Mickelson, a four-time major champion but the only player to finish runner-up five times in the U.S. Open, shot even-par 70 Saturday in the third round of the U.S. Open at unyielding Merion Golf Club and has a one-shot lead heading into Sunday´s final round.

When President Obama makes his first extended trip to sub-Saharan Africa this month, the federal agencies charged with keeping him safe won’t be taking any chances. Hundreds of U.S. Secret Service agents will be dispatched to secure facilities in Senegal, South Africa and Tanzania. A Navy aircraft carrier or amphibious ship, with a fully staffed medical trauma center, will be stationed offshore in case of an emergency. Military cargo planes will airlift in 56 support vehicles, including 14 limousines and three trucks loaded with sheets of bulletproof glass to cover the windows of the hotels

It first begins with a peculiar, bitter smell.(Snip)Get sufficiently exposed, and you may faint or even die. These are the effects of pepper spray, the chemical that was used by the Turkish police against peaceful sit-in protesters who tried to protect one of Istanbul’s few remaining green spaces against a controversial reconstruction plan in Taksim Square on May 28. Undercover police then proceeded to set fire to the tents left behind by escaping protesters — with all their belongings in them — despite the protesters’ pleas. A group of whistleblowers, including a number of aviation experts, have come forward in a new documentary to claim that the official explanation for the crash of TWA Flight 800 was wrong and a gas tank explosion did not bring down the flight off the coast of Long Island 17 years ago. However, the six whistleblowers, all part of the original investigation team, stopped short of saying the plane was shot down. Flight 800, a Boeing 747, had just taken off from JFK airport with 230 people aboard on July 17, 1996 enroute to Paris when it exploded

An attorney whose firm represents two Benghazi whistleblowers said Gen. Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, lied to the Senate when he said there was never a “stand down” order during the Benghazi attack on Sept. 11, 2012. “What was fascinating is that he explained his lie to them,” Joe DiGenova, an attorney representing one of the whistleblowers, told CNSNews.com. “He actually said they were sent to Tripoli. They were needed in Benghazi,” said DiGenova, a former U.S. attorney, now with the Washington firm of DiGenova & Toensing.

Amid a steady rise of backlash, Edward Snowden, the 29-year-old former National Security Agency contractor who was the source of a spring of leaks about the agency´s surveillance methods, conducted a live chat on The Guardian´s website Monday morning. Judging from some of the pointed questions he´s been asked and the reaction to newly leaked revelations over the past few days, it´s clear that much of the sympathy and support Snowden had built up for his early exposures is eroding. Many Americans supported his decision to leak information about a pair of National Security Agency surveillance programs, which, he detailed, gathered information

Charlie Rose last night asked President Obama his new Syria policy. The president first objected to it being called a new policy. "I´m not sure you can characterize this as a new policy. This is consistent with the policy that I´ve had throughout," he said. Obama then explained the goal is regional stability, and especially in Syria. "Really, what we´re trying to do is take sides against extremists of all sorts and in favor of people who are in favor of moderation, tolerance, representative government, and over the long-term, stability and prosperity for the people of Syria," said Obama.

Marco Rubio. Paul Ryan. The IRS. Illegal immigration. And fraud to the tune of billions.. Now there’s a combustible mix. Let’s start with the IRS, illegal immigration and fraud. We’ll come back in a minute to Senator Rubio and Congressman Ryan. For those who came in late, a year before the IRS scandals burst onto the scene in early May of 2013, an alert investigative reporter for WTHR-Indianapolis (Channel 13), Bob Segall by name, produced a stunning piece of journalism. Segall’s video report is found here and we will quote from his story for the basics.

The Obamas never miss an opportunity to mingle with the stars and during a two-day trip in Dublin, who better to have lunch with than iconic Irish rocker and philanthropist Bono? First Lady Michelle along with daughters Malia, 14, and Sasha, 11, started Tuesday with an hour-long visit to picturesque Glendalough in the Wicklow Mountains--but the two girls looked like they would have rather slept in at their luxury hotel. Glendalough is famous for its Medieval monastic settlement founded in the 6th century by St Kevin, the hermit priest.
