| If you want someone to lie to you and tell you how troubling it is when anyone´s income is cut in Obama´s economy, you´ll want to stop reading right about now. I´m only willing to go as far as to say that I wish ObamaCare wasn´t the cause of all this. But it simply is a beautiful thing to see the very institutions that carry Obama´s water and attempt to brainwash more of his minions, deal first-hand with the consequences of their thoughtless advocacy: A new piece in the Wall Street Journal
|
Comments: And yet these brainwashed radicals will still vote for tyrants like 0bama and all that they represent. I have no sympathy whatsoever for these fools who are allegedly so enlightened.

Does Obama work more than 30 hours a week on average? There´s a lot of golf and vacations going on here.

Adjuncts are the slaves of the university system. They do hard work and are treated like dogs by the universities. If you want to cut costs at the university level, cut out the junk classes and cut back the # of administrators. Too much money is wasted in those areas.

I´ve worked at a university for 33 years. Sadly, good teaching is not valued at all. Academic stars like Cornell West get huge salaries and lots of acclaim and most of the time they don´t teach, but the professor who just wants to teach gets little in the way of money or plaudits.
The number of administrators in the university where I am has gotten bigger and bigger. But I don´t think the quality of teaching has gotten any better.

My daughter is a victim of this... The University where she teaches cut her position, and 7 other instructors, the classes just wont be offered until next fall. And the school raised their tuition another 12% this semester to pay for ObamaCare!

What? These liberal universities are NOT PAYING THEIR FAIR SHARE of Obamacare costs? I thought it was only the 1% that wasn´t paying their fair share.

There is no protection for adjuncts (and not much for those of us who are untenured) under any circumstance. This just rubs salt into a sore spot. Shamefully, the union wags are blaming everyone but the real culprit. I honestly believe that when I go up for review next year there is a high chance that I will not be given a renewed contract but rather will be told that the college will be glad to hire me as a full-time lecturer with the same responsibilities but at 1/2 the salary. All to save tenured positions from the cutting block. The fact that I´m not a progressive will make it much easier for them to do this. Ramona (the Pest)

The current scene doesn´t look so great. We´ve got the Benghazi scandal, which Bob Woodward has compared to Watergate, we´ve got the IRS scandal, where Democratic members of Congress are saying the IRS director lied, we´ve got the FBI AP-snooping scandal, we´ve got the HHS "private donation" shakedown scandal, and, of course, there´s the still-unfolding Pigford scandal that has funneled billions to grifters. It seems like everything is in tatters. And, in a way, it is. But serious as these problems are, they´re all short-term things. So while at the moment a lot of our political leaders

Former Democratic National committee chairman Howard Dean considers the controversy over Benghazi a “joke” and “silly.” “Benghazi is a laughable joke,” Dean proclaimed twice in a discussion with Republican National Committee communications chairman Sean Spicer last week. “With all due respect, governor, when four Americans die serving this country, that’s not a joke, sir,” Spicer responded. “Oh, stop it,” said Dean. The former Democratic presidential candidate also said that there were “no serious questions being asked about Benghazi” and brushed it off as an effort by Republicans to score political points.

In Tuesday´s Senate hearings into the ever-widening IRS scandal, outgoing IRS chief, Steve Miller, acknowledged that the planted question that broke the story last week was his idea. The "planted question" refers to the way in which the IRS chose to release the findings of the Inspector General´s report a week ago Friday. It was an unusual way to deliver bad news, even in a town known for its selective leaks, Friday-night news dumps and wag-the-dog distractions. The Internal Revenue Service, apparently determined to get out ahead of an inspector general report critical of its handling of tax exemptions

Cybercrime and efforts to thwart computer attacks have finally crossed the $1 trillion a year line and Chinese sources are to blame for 89 percent of the high-tech assaults, according to a leading computer security executive and the National Security Administration. The wave of attacks has surged in the past three years to such a level, however, that efforts to defend and fight back haven´t kept up, prompting officials to call for international treaties to cover cyberspace, sanctions on countries that attack U.S. databases and even computer revenge. According to David DeWalt, chairman of the computer

Today, the Government Accountability Office issued a report of preliminary finding on the progress the Department of Homeland Security has made in its efforts to reduce the backlog of immigrant visas. Although almost 863,000 records were "closed" in the last two years, the backlog of potential overstays remains at more than one million [emphasis added]: In the summer of 2011, DHS reviewed the 1.6 million potential overstay records. As a result, DHS closed about 863,000 records and removed them from the backlog. Since that time, DHS has continued to review all potential overstay records for national

Via the Chris Stigall Show and WPHT in Philadelphia. Two weeks ago, this wouldn’t have been worth posting; Attkisson herself, I suspect, wouldn’t have mentioned it publicly. Even if she’s right about something fishy going on, there are other plausible culprits besides the U.S. government when it comes to reporters’ computers being infiltrated. Two weeks later, though, knowing now that the DOJ was willing to order a dragnet of AP reporters’ phone records and actually read James Rosen’s e-mails, there’s no way around the obvious suspicion. If the feds were willing to monitor Rosen and the AP in the

It’s hard to improve on this paragraph by Jim Geraghty, from today’s Morning Jolt. Obama didn’t know the IRS was targeting conservatives until he read it in the papers. He didn’t know about “Fast and Furious” until he read it in the papers, too. He has “complete confidence” in Holder, and didn’t know about the decision to collect the phone records of reporters. He didn’t know about the investigation into CIA director David Petraeus’s affair. He told Letterman during the election he didn’t know what the national debt was. He didn’t know about the AIG

WASHINGTON – The Internal Revenue Serviced scandal today spread further within the White House and closer to President Obama. White House spokesman Jay Carney today disclosed that Obama’s chief of staff, Dennis McDonough, and other top White House officials had advance warning that the IRS was targeting conservative groups. But he insisted McDonough and the other White House officials purposely kept Obama out of the loop.McDonough “rightly chose not to take action” to inform Obama, Carney told reporters at the daily White House briefing.

The Washington Post on Monday reported that Obama’s Department of Justice was investigating journalists before they started wiretapping the Associated Press – for one, Fox News correspondent James Rosen in 2010. Their headline wasn´t "Obama Team Also Spied on Fox News." Fox wasn´t in the headline, on A-1 or on A-12, where the story continued. Newly obtained court documents “reveal how deeply investigators explored the private communications of a working journalist — and raise the question of how often journalists have been investigated as closely as Rosen was in 2010.” Reporter Ann Marimow began:

So actually asked CNN´s Candy Crowley of her guest Sen. A senior adviser to President Obama mounted a combative defense of the administration on Sunday, saying the controversies enveloping the White House were the result of Republican lawmakers’ trying to “drag Washington into a swamp of partisan fishing expeditions, trumped-up hearings and false allegations.”The remarks came from Dan Pfeiffer, a member of the president’s inner circle, as he appeared on all five major Sunday morning talk shows in an effort to move the administration past what commentators have described as a “hell week” of controversy and missteps.

Stuart Varney said this morning on "Varney & Co." that one of his producers was given a questionnaire with some surprisingly intrusive questions on it when he switched doctors. One of the questions was whether he/she was concerned about unsecured weapons in the home. Another asked whether he/she was "in a relationship in which you have been physically hurt or are you afraid of your partner?" Judge Andrew Napolitano explained that the question about guns comes out of a post-Sandy Hook executive order by President Obama, but it will be required under Obamacare. Varney expressed amazement

WASHINGTON – White House senior adviser Dan Pfeiffer said Sunday Republicans owe Susan Rice, the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, an apology for alleging she played a part in formulating the White House’s response to the attacks in Benghazi, Libya, last year that killed four Americans. Pfeiffer said on ABC’s “This Week” that the release of more than 100 pages of Benghazi emails and notes show “beyond a shadow of the doubt” that accusations she tried to change the narrative of what happened in the attacks was false. "And, frankly, I think that many of the Republicans
