Yawning is ok for an 11-year-old. Eye-rolling and refusal to speak to John Boehner when he is seated next to you is not okay for an adult woman, much less the First Lady.

We have to excuse the children. They have terrible parents.

I do not care what any of the obama family do or say, I hit the remote the minute they appear. It makes me feel ill to think of this skanky family in the white house.

What ultra lefty teacher at an ultra lefty school is going to give the daughters of the first black president anything but A´s? They are the ultimate in affirmative action - they get credit just for having DNA.

The girls are their mother´s kids. Always bored, sullen, unless clowning with each other. Madam Queen is another juvenile, ill-equipped to teach her young proper public behavior.

If they´re excelling at Sidwell, how come the Obamies had to trek to school for so many teacher conferences?

She beat Speaker Boehner to the ignore and refused to meet his glance. The final insult was the eye rolling. Apparently, it’s unwise to get in michelle’s way at feeding time.

Although it’s tiresome to cite the predictable media double standard, just suppose the roles had been reversed, and the Speaker had rolled his eyes at michelle? Do you suppose the nytimes would have written a big editorial about the decline of civility in politics, and blamed all of it on the GOP?

michelle obama is an elitist snob with a mean streak. (sorry about being the master of the obvious) To quote a line from a Clint Eastwood movie, the woman has "the manners of a goat and the breath of a whisky bottle."

Hey, give her a break. Almost every dog I know will growl if a stranger gets near its food.

And what about the prez, chomping on gum, like a man without a care in the world. He is an embarrassment to the office he holds. Shame on any American who voted for this man.

One more post to say that as much as I dislike Mrs. Obama, she looked lovely yesterday, particularly in the belted coat. The children´s outfits were tasteful and cute and it was obviously a momentous day for them. We should be more careful with our snark.

I can understand Sasha´s yawn, would probably have done the same, but mom should have taught her to cover her mouth when yawning.

But Michelle, the clip of her sitting next to John Boehner, elbow on the table and shoveling food into her mouth while rolling eyes - that says it all. How rude.

She is graceless but what, really, do you expect of her? I expect nothing and am richly rewarded.

Kids, I get. If you didn´t know, the Obamas are the first couple ever to be in love. Actually, I think they invented marriage or at least perfected it.

Re Michele and the eye roll -- I´ve already heard the laugh about it (because it´s no big deal, don´t you know) and the light commentary, "I wonder what he said" In other words, it must be the Speaker´s fault.

The entire family could use some time in a Southern charm school. No phone/texting at church or a serious occasion. Only cows chew cuds, Mr Pres. Keep your elbows (and forearms) off the table and take small bites, put your fork down between bites. Even an 11 yr old should know to stifle a yawn in public even if her father is boring the life out of her.

What difference does it make if they show up dressed "tastefully" if their behavior is boorish and unmannerly?
