With the formal portion of the day over, all that was left for President Obama and First Lady Michelle was to kick up their heels at the inauguration ball to celebrate his second term. The Obamas appeared on stage at the Washington Convention Center to wild cheering and thunderous applause from thousands of people. First Lady Michelle´s choice of dress was finally revealed - a dramatic, red chiffon and velvet gown by Jason Wu. The designer had also created her dress for the 2008 ball. Obama paid tribute to his wife saying that although he was often criticized

I haven´t been this touched or impressed since Bill danced with Hillary on that beach.

What those Democrat sham "wives" must go through to keep up the charade.

The only good thing about today has been my book sales have been doing pretty good. The book is based on Owebama and the conspiracies around him and.... oh yes! A friend of mine was on Glenn Beck´s show today and got a plug in for my website!

Beck was the only TV I could watch today. I couldn´t bear to even watch that man desecrate the Lincoln Bible.

That first pic made me think of Fred and Ginger. What is that weird thing she always does.with her mouth. It´s like she´s always pursing her lips. And we all got to see those famous arms. I´ve been depressed all day at the use of my tax dollars to fund these two and their lavish lifestyle. Remember how the New York Times criticized Bush for having an inaugural during a war? How about all the money spent this weekend and the economy stinks and people are hurting, yet not a peep from anyone at the NYT or anywhere else. I´m disgusted.

He wants to be so like Lincoln that he plagiarizes his speeches. Remember that Lincoln was President during the Civil War. May the outcome of Zippy´s War be different. OK all you NSA guys, figure that one out.

I´m less impressed with your armpits, Michelle. They need to be de-stretched, sweetie. Those marks come from muscling up in the gym and the associated skin expansion that occurs. Somebody should have advised you that it´s not an appropriate look unless you´re planning to scare horses in the parade.

As for the dress itself, it´s marginally elegant. You can only do so much - much depends on the wearer.

i guess you have to now define the word quality. it appears that it doesn´t mean the same to me as it does to the nyt.
i don´t really care about michelle (may i call you michelle?) except that she exudes "no class." may she slide into the dustbin of history and grow wings on those precious arms of hers.

When she brings that bottom lip up over her teeth and the new wig, it´s just weird. One side view photo looks like a shar pei.

I don´t know how much of our money she spent on that new look but it´s wasted money. Her bangs should have been about a foot longer and I think she had botox in her cheeks. She´s still ugly inside and out. He is the most condescending phoney I have seen in a long time. Couldn´t even watch TV today. It was truly a funeral for our country.

I wish someone would train her how to walk and move in a ball gown. She lumbers and fights with the dress. And the video of her shoveling in the food at the banquet.....she looks like someone who never had a bite to eat. I just caught glimpses (and felt terribly sad and depressed). My country is gone and yesterday was not an inauguration of a U.S. President, but a crowning of a king.

A man was charged with attempted murder and aggravated battery in a Friday shooting that left a 40-year-old man in the Brainerd neighborhood with six gunshot wounds. Deontae C. Jones, 18, was held on $1 million bail after appearing in Cook County bond court Sunday afternoon. Prosecutors said Jones approached a man who was outside his residence on the 9300 block of S. May St., checking to see if his recycling bin was full when Jones approached the man and fired at him. The victim began running away and fell to the ground, said Cook County Assistant State’s Attorney Naheda

The first family attended Easter services Sunday at the Nineteenth Street Baptist Church, a Northwest Washington congregation that welcomed the Obamas on the eve of the president’s first inauguration. The Obamas’ motorcade left the White House shortly before 10 a.m. (Snip) The motorcade pulled up to the church, about four miles away, just after 10. The first family arrived through a tented entrance and sat in the second pew in a mostly, but not completely filled church, joining an estimated 250 others. The president wore a light khaki suit. CLEARWATER — In the mid-1970s, Wayne Phillips saw a television program telling the story of the Shroud of Turin, a centuries-old linen cloth that bears the image of a crucified man. At first, he was miffed. Years of Catholic schooling — Jesuit High School in Tampa and Notre Dame University — and he had never known about this artifact? (He would later learn that it was a delicate subject at the Vatican.) A doctor, he has a curious mind. A mind shaped by logic and by science. But as a Catholic, he understands some beliefs are still a mystery. He

WASHINGTON — IT’S weird to be jealous of your car. But I am. Men look at my car with such naked lust, their eyes devouring the curves and chrome, that I often feel as though I’m intruding on an intimate moment. Women like it, too. They sometimes grin and give it a thumbs up as it growls by, and one girlfriend fondly refers to it as “the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Goddess car.” But the icon evokes a special feeling in men. It’s the Proustian madeleine of cars, stirring old dreams and new. Guys sometimes follow in the American beauty’s

California’s unemployment rate is rotten and holding steady. In March, according to the Los Angeles Times, the rate was 8.1%. In February, it was exactly the same. The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that the state only added 11,800 net new jobs in March, many of them in construction, government, education, and health services. The greatest gains were in professional and business services, with 3,100 new positions. But the jobs numbers in hospitality, manufacturing, and leisure dipped, and the biggest drop came in financial activities, as the slowing rate of mortgages forced banks to fire employees. For Hillary Clinton, having her own baby grandchild to kiss on the campaign trail, could be one of the biggest boosts to her possible presidential election campaign. Although the former Secretary of State and First Lady has not said if she will run in 2016, the arrival of her first grandchild will soften her image, analysts have said. While Chelsea only revealed her pregnancy on Thursday, supporters of her mother have already started cooing over a possible baby in the White House. That was quite a victory dance President Obama did Thursday while claiming Obamacare is “working” because eight million people have now supposedly signed up for the health care program. Hi, everybody. For millions of Americans, this time of year holds great meaning. Earlier this week, we hosted a Passover Seder at the White House, and joined Jewish families around the world in their re-tellings of the story of the Exodus and the victory of faith over oppression.
