| First Lady Michelle Obama wore a custom, ruby red Jason Wu chiffon and velvet gown Monday night to the inaugural ball. Her dress was fierce. The halter top was a great choice to show off Obama´s sculpted arms and back. The waistline was in the perfect place while the color choice was radiant. Alicia Keys had it right - "Obama´s on fire." "I can´t believe it. It´s crazy," Wu told The New York Times Monday night. "To have done it once was already the experience of my life. To have a second time is tremendous."

It looks like she strapped on a sack of potatoes - look how its over-volumnous skirt makes her hips look like two battleships. She also has an odd Jane Fonda-type grin on her face.

The look Jane Fonda had on her face when she hopped on the Vietnam cannon and grinned.
Kind of the same thing in a way, Michelle Obama is lording it over a country she considers enemy territory.

Now look, I´m no fashion plate myself, but if I read something like
"Her dress was fierce."
then I´m not exactly conjuring up "Ladylike", "demure" or anything remotely complimentary.

I have seen my father´s sister-in-law chew tobacco and use snuff. I worked around men who used snuff because cigarettes were not allowed at work, and am familiar with that tell-tale bulge of Copenhagen in the lower lip. Inquiring minds want to know. Does Moochie dip snuff? Her lower lip sure looks as if she does. I have no problem if she does and in view of the cigarette habit Obama had/has, maybe she enjoys the taste.

Oh my...that shade of red does NOT become her, nor does the style, or the hairdo...and those *sculpted* arms in that style dress, make her look like an Amazon. Her posture is terrible too. Embarrassing :-( But we´ve come to expect this from her...sigh. And that plaid outfit she wore earlier in the day made her look like an oompa loompa, without the orange, but with purple (gag) gloves. Made me cringe when I Saw the pictures. Tasteless...

This is the First LB, remember, who dazzled us all with her parade-watching performance during the Chicago drum corps stop in front of the reviewing house. Gettin´ down. What an embarrassment she is. You might expect that out of a 12 year old kid, but not someone her age and in her position.
But that´s what we´re all being brainwashed to think -- whatever she does is wonderful.
What is definitely NOT wonderful is the way she splays her right hand across the Boy King´s back when dancing. To her complete lack of table manners we can add that she has no idea of the proper way to dance. That shuffling was a really sub-par performance.

Normally I find it distasteful to make negative comments about a person´s appearance. But the surly attitude this woman displays and her seeming lack of self-awareness (did you see her eating yesterday in the clip where she rolls her eyes at Boehner? - AACK!) - well, it´s just too much. Too me she looks like someone who picks out lovely (or not) clothes because she likes the outfit, not because it suits her. There are a few times when she has worn dresses in which she appears comfortable, but not this one and not most of them. Perhaps, like me, she is hard to fit. But with the world of fashion on their knees begging to dress her, it amazes me that the loveliest numbers she wears seem ill-fitted.
If she were a nice person, I would care less. It´s all part of a package though - a hate filled moocher rubbing it in, taking pleasure at the abuse her spouse heaps on the nation. Ramona (the Pest)

NPR´s Ari Shapiro posted an interesting Tweet on May 21. He discovered that a cadre of well-known lefty columnists and journalists visited the White House together, three of whom he mentioned by name. Shapiro reported that Jonathan Capehart and Ezra Klein of the Washington Post, and Josh Marshall of the left-wing website TalkingPointsMemo.com were attending a meeting together at the White House. [Tweet] Coffee, Carney, or perhaps some "guidance"? Naturally the tongues on Twitter wagged. Instapundit wondered, for instance, if the "Journ-O-List cavalry" had been called out to solve Obama´s media problem.

J. Russell George paused for just a moment before he took his seat at the witness table. He wanted to take it all in. The Treasury inspector general whose audit of the IRS had set off a national firestorm had been in this very room before—three decades earlier. That was back when George was a precocious teenager who had worked his way onto the staff of then-Sen. Bob Dole, the powerful Republican chairman of the vaunted Finance Committee. Then, he’d sorted mail and made carbon copies. Now, he was about to testify before the same panel, to present the findings

The head of the Internal Revenue Service’s tax-exempt organizations office, faced with allegations of improper targeting of conservative groups, declared Wednesday that she has done nothing wrong but declined to answer questions, invoking her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination. The US Attorney for the District of Columbia, Ronald C. Machen - the man responsible for the aggressive surveillance and phone record scrutiny at Fox News - is also a big donor to the Obama Campaigns. At the time of his appointment, the Washington Post wrote a profile on Machen including this tidbit: Over the years, he has donated $4,350 to Obama´s campaigns. He gave $250 to Obama´s U.S. Senate campaign in 2003, a year before Obama, then an Illinois state senator, emerged on the nation´s political radar, according to campaign finance records.

It was not clear whom Brig. Gen. Bryan Roberts struck or with whom he was involved. Fort Jackson conducts basic training for 60% of the Army´s incoming women recruits. The wheels came off the Obama administration yesterday. We learned of a startling assault on freedom of the press by the Department of Justice, following the revelation last week of the unprecedented information-gathering foray by that department against The Associated Press. Then, a few minutes later, the Justice Department’s inspector general released a report declaring that the US attorney in Arizona used the leak of a confidential memo to try to discredit a whistleblower in the notorious “gun-walking” scandal known as Fast and Furious (which got two federal agents killed). The leak was called “egregious.”

The dam protecting the IRS scandal began to crack today when Lois Lerner, the IRS official who announced, and apologized for, the improper singling out of conservative-leaning organizations by IRS employees under her command, announced through her criminal defense lawyer that she will not testify as scheduled tomorrow before the House Oversight Committee. Rather, she will assert her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination. This marks an enormous milestone in the IRS investigation. It can now be taken as more or less established that crimes were committed by Obama administration employees. Lerner’s lawyer tried to minimize the significance

Former Democratic National committee chairman Howard Dean considers the controversy over Benghazi a “joke” and “silly.” “Benghazi is a laughable joke,” Dean proclaimed twice in a discussion with Republican National Committee communications chairman Sean Spicer last week. “With all due respect, governor, when four Americans die serving this country, that’s not a joke, sir,” Spicer responded. “Oh, stop it,” said Dean. The former Democratic presidential candidate also said that there were “no serious questions being asked about Benghazi” and brushed it off as an effort by Republicans to score political points.
