Republicans expect Clinton’s
clarity on Benghazi

Washington Times, by Shaun Waterman and Guy Taylor

Original Article

Posted By:Dreadnought, 1/21/2013 10:17:05 PM

Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton likely will face tough questions about the deadly Sept. 11 terrorist attack on the U.S. mission in Benghazi, Libya — including how the U.S. ambassador went missing for several hours during the assault — when she meets Wednesday with the House and Senate foreign affairs committees. The appearance, likely to be her last before Congress, will cap her time as secretary of state by revisiting one of the most bitterly contested and controversial episodes of her tenure

Her Fraudulency will likely succumb to the vapors, and be excused until 2014, sometime.

this is a joke, right?

Americans of all political persuasions are coming to the sad realization that our First Lady -- a woman of undoubted talents who was a role model for many in her generation -- is a congenital liar."

This is going to be America´s last shot at this corrupt and incompetent pig until the ´16 campaign. She has a four decade history of scandal for which she has NEVER had to answer. This was a cover- up of the first order and if the Repubs. Want to see this leftist slug and her sex pervert criminal husband follow the destructive ba$tard now in office, all they have to do is play kissy face with Madam.
If she is not taken out now she gets a free ride to 2016.

Poster 2, Heart Surgeon, thank you for posting the congenital liar piece. While an apt description, it didn´t stop Hillary as senator, an almost presidential candidate or as SoS. This is because she is a progressive Dem, and absolutely nothing stops a progressive Dem other than another progressive Dem.

However, if HRC is congenital, then her mate must be a genital liar. "I did not have sex with that woman."

This is a waste of taxpayer´s money if there are no indictments, firings or resignations coming out of this. If the Republicans are clever and ruthless enough this could be an opportunity to take her out as far as any 2016 aspirations she may possess.

Hillary will do a pathetic tap dance for the committee and will exit the old stage left into oblivion.
She will not be the 2016 nominee unless she can find an expert black face artist and become a male figure while losing 25 years off her resume´.
If she doesn´t come clean it will make my sister weep because she expects saint Hillary to blow the whistle this week and allow us to wave Obe bye bye.

There is a certain entertainment value to watching these people lie and obfuscate.I´m watching for her to deny she ever saw a request from Stevens for more security.

She already halfway blamed Stevens a while back by saying he knew the risk he was taking going in there.

This was an out and out assassination of Stevens by his own government for a reason we don´t know and that will never come out in this inquiry.

A corrupt citizenry demands corrupt leaders. It´s time to accept that we have a corrupt citizenry that seems to ignore obvious corruption in the Clinton´s and Obama.

We are now led by the corrupt and the watchdog is the corrupted media.

It´s over folks. Better batten down the hatches. It´s going to be everyone for themselves.

Like most commenters before me, the headline reads like a sick joke.

The notion that Republicans expect anything other than what everyone else expects, which is a pant-load of time-killing nonresponsive answers, can´t recalling, indignant posturing, and outright lying is laughable. Also laughable is the fantasy that Republicans will do anything other than furiously raise their eyebrows, angrily straighten their papers, or abruptly turn to staff and dispatch them on urgent missions.

This thing could get the popcorn-worthy Iran-Contra treatment, but I would bet the farm that the Republicans flinch before Herself does. Not even close. They will go in thinking they have to be tough, but not too tough on a "respected" SoS, and a woman with high approvals and aspirations. She will go in hacked off that she even has to deal with these vermin. She wins, hands down.

The stress of the inquisition will do her in. If the GOP questions are too tough, she´ll develop a latent migraine, maybe faint from residual concussion effects, or cry.

She will be so sad these 4 Americans lost their lives, she will have been busy with solving the rest of the world´s problems (read: eating their food, drinking their beer, and dancing their dances), and there will be a conspiracy in place to make her look bad.

I could write this stuff.

The progressives will declare that the Republicans are escalating the war on women when they ask Mrs. Clinton anything that makes her uncomfortable. I would like to see a woman ask the hard questions and brook no evasive answers on the SOS´s part. However, the left will cry foul if any question pushes too hard. Mrs. Clinton wanted the job, hold her accountable for her decisions. Men died because of her incompetence. Their families deserve answers.

They don´t refer to the State dept. as Foggy Bottom for nothing you know. Barack Obama has a better chance of becoming a fiscal conservative than we have in getting the open and honest truth from a Clinton. Unless she can do it in such a way that it knocks Obama off his perch without hurting her. I suspect that is why it has taken so long for her testimony.

She will forcefully accept responsibility, while admitting no fault of her own. She won´t show any signs of weakness as she has her ambitions to think about here and the problem we have is that we have a group up there that will let it go with little truth to come out. They have admitted they have met with her behind closed doors, they have all the intelligence they are gonna get, so this is just for show for us poor saps who thought maybe there would be justice for those poor 4 victims.

At least Tammy Wynette took her to the woodshed over the (not) "standing by your man" comment that time. That´s about all we´ll get. No strings she could pull to stop that tongue lashing.

She must sleep better at night if those Benghazi bodies really were cremated. CYA? Done. In regards to the drones she can honestly say, "no muslims were harmed in the making of this video". George Soros would approve.

This is a first, lying for Obie. Most of her previous, long list of lies and unsolved deaths were all done to protect her Slick Willie. Now she´s being asked to lie for the raging, vindictive, commie style person not her husband. The world knows she can only lie, or die. The good news, she has all of mainstream media backing up her every lie. Diane Sawyer, Brian Williams, Steve Pelley, the whole army of limousine news actors will back up her every evasive, Slick Hilary words. Whatever we see will have been rehearsed, all of it "just for show", another socialist nail in the coffin of America.
There will not be one questioner to actually pursue the truth. RINO Boehner crooks are also afraid for their lives and the safety of their families. It isn´t just Hilary; they all fear for their lives.

i suspect the phrase she will use is not "I don´t recall", but a more lawyerly and nuanced "I have no independent recollection".

This avoids having her memory called into question, while saving her from uttering any statements that could be construed as perjury. She won´t have to comment further on any damning emails or on the record statements she has made before...it lets her skate...she does not contradict, deny, clarify nor add to the paper trail that exists...she merely states she has "no independent recollection".

It may be the pessimist in me but, if she shows up, I expect a finely-honed, well-prepared, 2016-minded, thoroughly vetted lie that almost all of the Republicans will swallow and excuse away with a "not credible but, we will give her the benefit of the doubt" speech thereafter.

What is the best, or reliable, concise reference to the Hillary “I don’t remember” testimonies? I can’t find a concise one on Google or Wikipedia. Perhaps it has been thinned with time. One of my correspondents says that she never uttered those words, or anything like them, not one time, ever.

Reply 46 - Posted by: JoElla Bee, 1/22/2013 8:06:16 PM     (No. 9133199)

Earlier this month, another Republican senator, Bob Corker of Tennessee, who is the new ranking member of the Foreign Relations Committee in the Democrat-controlled Senate, suggested that Mrs. Clinton is eager to try to address unanswered questions.
“I actually sense — especially in talking to her chief [of staff] just in the last few days — that she’s anxious to want to come up and testify on Benghazi,” he told MSNBC.

The State Dept. says she will be prepared to answer any questions. (With the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, so help you God???)

President Obama delivered an address today at the National Defense University called “The Future of our Fight Against Terrorism.” Actually, part of the speech was about the past, including much self-congratulation and some shots at President Bush. This part of the speech is revisionist rubbish. As Max Boot explains: Obama said, for example, that after he came into office, “we unequivocally banned torture, affirmed our commitment to civilian courts, worked to align our policies with the rule of law, and expanded our consultations with Congress.” Umm, actually all of that happened in Bush’s second term.

In seventy lugubrious paragraphs, President Obama today asked America whether as commander-in-chief he should bomb terrorists. He concluded that sometimes he should, and sometimes he shouldn’t. He couldn’t quite make up his mind. Therefore, he would appoint a panel to advise him. Mr. Obama has already authorized more than 200 such drone bombings. His staff has bragged that before ordering a bombing, he personally reviews who lives and who dies. Imagine if Prime Minister Churchill or President Truman had appeared on television to announce an advisory panel before bombing our enemy. We would be appalled

Both the northbound and southbound portions of the bridge dropped into the river sometime before 7 p.m., according to Washington State Patrol trooper Mark Francis. Francis said several cars were on the bridge when it collapsed, and some are now in the water. Bart Treece with the Washington State Department of Transportation was unsure when the bridge was last inspected. "All of our bridges in the area are pretty old," he said.

LONDON — British police late Thursday arrested a man and a woman in connection with the butchering of a British soldier on a London street, as anti-Muslim protests sprang up across the country. The arrests fueled speculation that the gruesome knife attack Wednesday — the first successful terrorist act in Britain since 2005 — was part of a wider plot, and prompted questions about the prevalence of Islamic extremism in the country and how to combat it. British officials moved quickly to increase security in London and other major cities Thursday as police raided

Three days of hearings have shown that IRS scrutiny of conservative organizations extended beyond a few rogue employees in Cincinnati, that the agency staged its announcement of the bad news to try to limit the damage, and that the White House knew more, and knew it earlier, than it first admitted. Republicans argue that they also uncovered evidence that the auditor’s report could have been completed months ago — even before the November elections. They also said an internal IRS investigation confirmed the untoward behavior as early as July 2012.

When you get right down to it, the political targeting and stalling of tax-exempt applications by the IRS was an effort to defund the Tea Party. Rick Santelli, one of the Tea Party founders and my CNBC colleague, was the first to make this point. I’ve taken it a step further: The IRS was taking the Tea Party out of play for the 2012 election, as it looked to avoid a repeat of 2010 and another Tea Party landslide. There are a lot of numbers out there.
