Virginia lawmaker´s AK-47 sparks
gun debate on House floor

Washington Examiner, by Steve Contorno

A Richmond-area lawmaker brandished an AK-47 on the floor of the Virginia House of Delegates on Thursday in a wild stunt aimed at rallying support for tougher gun laws. Del. Joe Morrissey, D-Highland Springs, pulled the weapon out shortly after the day´s session got underway, a time when legislators typically welcome school groups and other visitors in the chamber´s gallery. Del. Todd Gilbert, R-Woodstock, interrupted Morrissey´s speech to ask him to take his finger out of the trigger guard and later said that taking guns from citizens is what led to the Holocaust and mass killings under the Soviet Gulag.

Comments:
There is nothing any dumber than a liberal democrat with a gun. Keep you heads down, boys, he has no clue what he is doing.

Yo..yo..Word is that JoJo MoMo, when he was Commonwealth´s Attorney for Richmond, Va., collected money ment for a rape victim ($100K) and then handed the money out to AFRICAN American Ministers to spread around as "walking around money" on election day. I think that was one reason he lost his law license!! A REAL JERK!!

"There is nothing any dumber than a liberal democrat with a gun. Keep you heads down, boys, he has no clue what he is doing."

As evidenced by the fact that he had his finger inside the trigger guard in the first place.

Not a peep in this piece about the numerous past legal infractions and eventual disbarment of the politician who pulled this stunt. Typical of contemporary journalism, which is no longer journalism but Democratic propaganda. The writer did not want to distract readers from the burning issue of gun control, so inconvenient facts about the pro-gun control politician were simply omitted lest the narrative be lost.

In case anyone may have missed the lengthy rap sheet of Joe Morrissey,http://dailycaller.com/2013/01/20/va-lawmaker-who-brandished-ak-47-during-legislative-session-was-disbarred-following-assault-death-threat/here it is:

He should have been mowed down in a hail of bullets coming from the legal concealed carriers in the room.

On Thursday, July 11, police discovered the rotting body of 17-year-old Darryl Green, a black child from the Englewood neighborhood of Chicago. Green’s body was found behind a boarded-up house in the 6500-block of South Damen, face down on basement stairs. The body was so badly decomposed that originally, local news reports suggested that he had died of blunt force trauma. On Friday, an autopsy showed he had been shot to death. Relatives reported that Green had refused to join a gang at school.

On Wednesday, Judicial Watch announced that the Department of Justice had turned over documents in response to a Freedom of Information Act request showing that the Community Relations Service (CRS), a small division of the DOJ, was sent to Sanford, Florida after the Trayvon Martin shooting to help manage rallies and protests. In April 2013, Breitbart News´ Lee Stranahan first reportedthe role of the CRS in Sanford. The new documents show that from March 25 through April 12, 2012, the CRS spent thousands of dollars helping organize and “work” marches and demonstrations regarding Trayvon Martin. Tasks included:

The company that made Smithfield “the ham capital of the world” will become a subsidiary of a China-based food giant in a planned $7.1 billion deal, the largest-ever acquisition of a U.S company by a Chinese firm. Smithfield Foods Inc., which grew from a small packing operation started in 1936 by the Luter family to become the world’s largest pork producer, announced Wednesday it has agreed to be acquired by Shuanghui International Holdings Ltd., China’s biggest meat producer, for $4.72 billion. Including the assumption of Smithfield Foods’ debt, the deal is valued at $7.1 billion.

Most people are lucky enough to handle maybe a few ounces of gold over the course of a lifetime. But what would it be like to be in the presence of 30 tons of the precious metal? Just ask Adam C. Glover. As a 17-year-old deckhand serving on a Navy destroyer escort during World War II, he helped move a small mountain of Polish gold from Africa to New York in a top-secret mission to keep it out of the hands of the Nazis. Glover, now 86, recalled the unlikely March 1944 adventure in a recent interview. “We pulled into Dakar,” a port in French West Africa, “and there was a whole convoy

Neurosurgeon Ben Carson says the White House wanted him to apologize for “offending” President Obama after he famously delivered a conservative message at the National Prayer Breakfast last year. Carson, the former director of pediatric neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital, recalls the events surrounding his 2013 speech in his new book, One Nation: What We Can All Do To Save America’s Future. The Daily Caller obtained an advance copy of the book, which is set for release May 20. “He did not appear to be hostile or angry,” Carson writes of Obama, “but within a matter of minutes after the conclusion of

President Obama inspired a generation of young people to support his historic election in 2008. And in 2012, despite the struggles of his first term, Mr. Obama still managed to win the support of a full 60% of voters age 18-29. But the man who once dreamed of being a transformative leader in the Reagan mold is inspiring few of those young people to follow his lead. "For all the talk about the movement that elected Mr. Obama, the more notable movement of Obama supporters has been away from politics. It appears that few of the young people who voted

On Saturday, I wrote about the standoff at Bundy Ranch. That post drew a remarkable amount of traffic, even though, as I wrote then, I had not quite decided what to make of the story. Since then, I have continued to study the facts and have drawn some conclusions. Here they are. First, it must be admitted that legally, Bundy doesn’t have a leg to stand on. The Bureau of Land Management has been charging him grazing fees since the early 1990s, which he has refused to pay. Further, BLM has issued orders limiting the area on which Bundy’s cows can

Chelsea Clinton says when people ask her these days whether she wants to go into politics, her answer isn’t an automatic “no.” The 34-year-old former first daughter told Fast Company in an interview published Monday, “for so long the answer was just a visceral no. Not because I had made any conscientious, deliberate decision, but since people had been asking for as long as literally I could remember, it was no." Now, the only child of former President Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton explains, "I live in a city and a state and a country where I

Although the Civil Rights Act, the landmark legislation which just reached its 50th anniversary, made great strides in desegregating the economy, economic discrimination is still widespread, and anti-discrimination legislation alone can never rectify the economic damage inflicted upon blacks by slavery and our Jim Crow apartheid regime. The Civil Rights Act was a mild reform, all things considered, but one conservatives fought with vigor and one many conservatives are still bitter about to this day. When the Civil Rights Act passed in 1964, the primary purpose was to root out discrimination in public accommodations (like hotels and movie theaters)

Megyn Kelly’s "Kelly File" is a great news show. She’s incisive, informed and customarily handles the toughest guest with aplomb. But her lengthy interview of Facebook C.O.O. Sheryl Sandberg about her second book in the Lean In series Lean In: For Graduates was a head shaker. Amazing that she of all people allowed Sandberg to restring the same old, same old, shamed, and shopworn feminist myths about women and girls and then jangle it in front of her viewing audience like something new out of the box. Indeed Kelly all but genuflected in front of this woman. Kept her on thru

Western Washington University sent a questionnaire to students asking them for advice on how the administration could succeed at making sure that in future years, “we are not as white as we are today.” The question notes that WWU’s racial make up does not perfectly reflect the nation at large, and asks students to consider strategies that other universities have used to focus on skin color as the paramount indicator of a student-applicant’s worth. The president of WWU has stated that his explicit goal is to reduce the white population on campus, according to Campus Reform. “I’ve said before and I’ll say it
