WASHINGTON — Former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has joined CBS News as a contributor. CBS News Chairman Jeff Fager and president David Rhodes say Rice “will use her insight and vast experience to explore issues facing America at home and abroad.” Rice served as secretary of state during President George W. Bush’s second term. She was the first African-American woman to hold the post. Rice was Bush’s national security adviser during his first term and worked on the National Security Council

Disappointing unless she will be allowed to speak her mind.

The next Joe Scarborough. Count the hits and you´ll see most of them directed at Pubs. It will be subtle at first and then, like Joe, it will become blatant. Money talks.

We should remember that Lara Logan and Sharyl Attkisson work at CBS. There´s also the very brave person who lets them air their stories. So now CBS has four credible people.

I´ll watch her! Remember, it was Fox News that force fed Al Sharpton into our homes as a regular commentator for years until he got his MSNBC show, and now they are about to do the same with Dennis Kuchinich...thank goodness for remote controls...

Hmmm, we´ll see. I´d love for Condi to be a voice for America on CBS but I´m not holding my breath.

Reply 15 - Posted by: RoanokeStar, 1/20/2013 1:51:28 PM     (No. 9128342)

Why would Condi accept such a position knowing that the news director wants Obama to "pulverize" the GOP/Conservatives? She´s smart enough to know they´ll keep her from speaking truths in favor of the right, so why would she even go there? Maybe money talks louder than integrity.

Michelle Obama certainly knows how to work a room! In this case, it was a kindergarten classroom at Savoy Elementary School in Washington D.C., where the patrons were, well, pint-size. The first lady paid a visit to the youngsters, brightening their day with some silly dance moves performed in unison and imparting an important message about hard work and perseverance.Awww. According to the Huffington Post, Obama encouraged the kiddos to "try new things and not be afraid to fail, because we have all failed," and referenced Kerry Washington (also in the audience),

Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio will appeal a federal judge´s ruling that his agency systematically singled out Latinos in its trademark immigration patrols, marking the first finding by a court that the agency racially profiles people. Tim Casey, the lead attorney representing America´s self-proclaimed toughest sheriff in the case, said an appeal of the finding that the agency racially profiles people was planned in the next 30 days. The decision by U.S. District Judge Murray Snow in Phoenix backs up years of allegations from Arpaio´s critics who say his officers violate the constitutional rights of Latinos

WASHINGTON — Attorney General Eric Holder’s fingerprints are all over an FBI warrant that authorized snooping on Fox News reporter James Rosen, the Justice Department confirmed yesterday. The FBI warrant that sought Rosen’s private e-mails as part of a leak investigation and called him a possible “co-conspirator” in a crime was authorized “at the highest levels of the department, including discussions with the Attorney General,” according to the Justice Department. “The Department takes seriously the First Amendment right to freedom of the press,” the agency said in the statement, saying it took “great care” in deciding to

WASHINGTON— US President Barack Obama set out Thursday to redefine the US fight against global terrorism. But despite calling for a more targeted and not "boundless" theater of global operations, Obama left the specifics and timelines for action, by which his success or failure can be measured, out of his big speech. Here are some critical questions Obama did not raise or answer in the address at the National Defense University. Guantanamo Bay timeline-Obama renewed his call for the closure of the Guantanamo Bay camp for terror suspects in Cuba. But he did not provide

Conservative radio host Mark Levin is very skeptical of the idea that President Obama had absolutely no idea about the IRS tea party targeting before the story broke in the news mere weeks ago. Levin declared adamantly that it is a “flat-out, bald-faced lie” that Obama didn’t know beforehand, citing prior reports by a few conservative news outlets picking up on the news well before the 2012 presidential election. Levin said, “I don’t believe for two seconds that Obama wasn’t aware of this.”

President Obama on Thursday nominated Victoria Nuland, a State Department official involved in the editing of the administration´s talking points on Benghazi, to be the next assistant secretary of state for European and Eurasian affairs. Nuland, a career foreign service officer who was until recently State´s top spokesperson, had long been expected to be nominated the post to replace Philip Gordon, who Obama picked to serve as Middle East coordinator for the National Security Council. Nuland´s nomination -- which requires Senate confirmation -- could come under scrutiny from Republicans who see her as playing a central role in shaping

Anthony Weiner’s New York mayoral candidacy was only made more improbable today after he revealed that he visited a Houston psychiatric facility following his resignation from Congress in 2011. Haunted by scandal surrounding his sexually explicit online communications with women, the Democratic former congressman sought treatment for his compulsive behavior from mental health professionals at the Gabbard Center. According to its website, the facility provides “3-day outpatient psychiatric evaluation,” particularly to “professionals who are in personal or professional crises.” While Weiner did not disclose

MARK LEVIN: So why didn´t Chairman Issa hold an investigative hearing a year ago? Why didn´t Chairman Camp, all Republicans, hold an investigative hearing a year ago, and all the other tripping over themselves right now? I´ll tell you why. Because the establishment Republicans, the RINO Republicans, despise the Tea Party. They despise the conservative movement. We exist to be managed, to be shuttled to the polling place, to vote for their candidates. The Karl Roves of the world, and all the rest of them. They fight us in the primaries, they fight us at the grassroots.

WASHINGTON —In a dramatic departure from existing White House procedures, President Obama requested today that his staff start cc’ing him on stuff. “Look, I know a lot of you think I’m really busy and you don’t want to bother me,” the President reportedly told his staff in an Oval Office meeting. “But cc me anyway. It’s good for me to keep up on what’s going on around here.” “It’s not good when I turn on the news and they’re talking about something at the White House and I’m like, whoa, when did that happen?”
