| Paris—With French officials saying confidently on Saturday that an advance by Islamist militants on Bamako, Mali’s capital, had been halted, France’s foreign minister told African leaders that “our African friends need to take the lead” in a multilateral military intervention in Mali.(Snip) In Paris, French officials said the United States, while willing to help ferry African troops, wanted to bill France for the use of transport aircraft, which officials said would not go down well with the French. The Pentagon favors providing rapid help with transport and even with air-to-air refueling, but the White House is

Don´t worry France. Barry will jump right in, call it part of Arab Spring, and spend even more of our taxpayer dollars.

Seriously, why even try to save Africa. All of the money that we send there ends up in the Swiss bank account of some dictator and it never ends up stopping Africans from killing each other.

France knows they bit of more than they could chew and are now chiding africa to take over. I´ll be surprised if they do because islamists everywhere there will take retaliatory action.France was also probably expecting more help from Obama that refuelers.Obviously they missed that obama was pro-radical islam.
Did this really say Obama wants to bill France for services rendered?

#3, to think otherwise is to think that Obama is capable of doing things for free out of the goodness of his heart. He has no heart for goodness unless there is something in it for him personally.

China has economic interests in Africa. I don´t see them worried of hostage taking.

Hollande may be a socialist but he knows the value of the gold, diamonds, oil and particularly the uranium that France needs to power their nuclear power plants which sell their electricity to their European neighbors that bought into the global warming scam...and what a scam it was. The best part is that there is no more America to get in their way like when they wanted to invade Egypt to secure the Suez canal.
The french did secure the oil rights in Libya...obama helped the French with that, didn´t he, and he said that he didn´t need the permission of congress. I have not forgotten.

Darn that Sharia Law... Well, at least the Mullahs decide Obama could Sell services to France but no direct involvement.
Obama´s Come To Allah Year is here.

Whatever else happens as a result of the multiple controversies that have engulfed the administration, one thing is clear: President Obama has failed to meet one of the most important goals he set out when he was first elected, which was to demonstrate that activist government could also be smart government. (Snip) As he put it then: “I think what you saw in this election was people saying, ‘Yes, we don’t want some big, bureaucratic, ever-expanding state. On the other hand, we don’t want a state that’s dysfunctional, that doesn’t believe in its mission, that can’t carry out

Washington – Sen. Claire McCaskill, D-MO, issued a video statement Friday in response to reports that the Internal Revenue Service unfairly targeted conservative nonprofit groups. (Snip) “There’s a reason Lady Justice wears a blindfold in America. That is because in America, we don’t apply the law based on who you are, who you know, or what you believe. We apply the law equally.” “We should not only fire the head of the IRS, which has occurred, but we’ve got to go down the line and find every single person who had anything to do with this and make sure

Richmond, Va.—Virginia´s activist conservative attorney general has won the Republican Party´s gubernatorial nomination by acclamation. At the GOP´s statewide convention, thousands of conservatives and tea party followers who dominated the Richmond Coliseum on Saturday roared their unanimous support for Ken Cuccinelli. He was unopposed for the nomination and is generally beloved by the tea party for his aggressive challenges to federal mandates. Cuccinelli is an abortion foe who was the first state attorney general to challenge President Barack Obama´s health care reforms in 2010. He faces former Democratic National Committee chairman and Clinton family protege Terry McAuliffe

Legions of Wimbledon fans may find it hard to credit in the man who once defined bad behaviour on the tennis court, but Jimmy Connors says he ‘turned on the charm’ the first time he chatted up Chris Evert.(Snip)Although she has since bitterly regretted giving up on a ‘good, solid marriage’, what some have described as her mid-life crisis struck in 2006 when she divorced Mill after 18 years. The Evert pendulum had swung back again towards an assertive Alpha Male: she had fallen in love with Australian world golfing champion Greg Norman. He was Mill’s best friend

The House voted to repeal ObamaCare on Thursday for the third time since Republicans took over the chamber in 2011. Only two Democrats sided with Republicans in the party-line 229-195 vote — Jim Matheson (Utah) and Mike McIntyre (N.C.). All Republicans voted in favor of repeal. This is the 37th time the House GOP has voted to repeal or defund at least part of the bill, but this latest bill will also not become law given Democrats´ control of the Senate. Still, many House Republicans had clamored for the bill from Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) to be considered,

Back in March, The Wall Street Journal’s Damian Paletta profiled Daniel Werfel — then the controller for the White House budget office, and today the newly named acting commissioner of the IRS — focusing on his role in instructing the government how to deal with the sequester’s $85 billion in budget cuts. Here are some highlights from the profile: Known in the White House as “Danny,” Mr. Werfel graduated from Cornell University, earned a master’s degree in public policy from Duke University and a law degree from the University of North Carolina. His first 12 years in the federal

One of President Barack Obama´s re-election campaign co-chairmen used a leaked document from the IRS to attack GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney during the 2012 election, according to the National Organization for Marriage (NOM).(Snip)NOM discovered that when HRC published its confidential financial documents, it failed to conceal the source of the documents. “After software removed the layers obscuring the document, it is shown that the document came from the Internal Revenue Service,” NOM asserted in its April 2012 release. “The top of each page says, ‘THIS IS A COPY OF A LIVE RETURN FROM SMIPS. OFFICIAL USE ONLY,’"

What did President Obama do on the evening of 9/11/12 when our men were under attack in Benghazi? The invaluable Andrew McCarthy reminds us that Obama and Secretary Clinton had a 10:00 p.m. phone call of which many (including, I think, Chris Wallace) have lost sight. This morning when Wallace asked Obama aide Dan Pfeiffer what Obama was up to that evening, Pfeiffer declared the line of inquiry “offensive.” Translation: Obama and his minions would prefer to “move on” and are warning the likes of FNC off:(Snip for video)The Weekly Standard’s Daniel Halper has posted the rush transcript

WASHINGTON - There were new questions Saturday night concerning if anyone in the White House was aware of the IRS´ targeting of conservative groups. Inspector General Russell George said he informed a deputy at the Treasury Department in June of 2012 about the probe into the IRS. The Treasury Department confirmed the timeline but said they did not know the details of the investigation until last week.(Snip)Marcus Owens ran the tax-exempt division at the IRS for 10 years. He said it isn´t difficult to figure out who´s doing what at the agency.

PRESIDENT OBAMA: You are the mantle of Frederick Douglass and Booker T. Washington and Ralph Bunche and Langston Hughes and George Washington Carver and Ralph Abernathy and Thurgood Marshall and, yes, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. These men were many things to many people and they knew full well the role that racism played in their life. But when it came to their own accomplishments and sense of purpose, they had no time for excuses. Every one of you has a grandma or an uncle or a parent whose told you at some point in life

It began in earnest last Friday. A flash mob of latte drinking, tofu eating media that has done its best to quell, rather than fan the flames of truth, turned on one of their own. Jay Carney lay bludgeoned at the base of the podium, a victim of friendly fire. Ironically, the attack was reminiscent of the one in Benghazi he has repeatedly denied the Administration he represents bears any responsibility for. “Changed twelve times?!” came the cries. And with good reason. We were misled; no, lied to.

In the wake of one of the worst abuses of government power in recent history, many are rushing to frame the Internal Revenue Service scandal as simply an attack on conservative activists. That view risks creating a partisan political football and misses a fundamentally scarier abuse that exceeds the scandals of Watergate or any other prior government abuse. The IRS has admitted that since May 2010 it targeted grassroots-conservative organizations that had applied for tax-exempt status, unfairly subjecting them to rigorous scrutiny due to their political leanings. Such groups were told they were required to comply with IRS requests,

Treasury Secretary Jack Lew on Friday urged congressional leaders to raise the debt limit and insisted that the White House is not going to negotiate over the increase because lawmakers have "no choice." "We will not negotiate over the debt limit," Lew wrote. "The creditworthiness of the United States is non-negotiable. The question of whether the country must pay obligations it has already incurred is not open to debate." Lew said that while President Obama is willing to discuss plans to reduce the nation´s deficit with Congress, those talks must be kept separate from any effort to raise the nation´s debt cap.
