In a worldwide sweep to rid its workplaces of sexually charged materials, the Air Force found 32,216 inappropriate or offensive items, including 40 pornographic magazines at the Air Education and Training Command headquarters at Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph. In all, the Air Force found 631 pornographic items at more than 100 installations, including magazines, calendars, pictures, videos that intentionally displayed nudity or depicted acts of sexual activity. More than half of those items were discovered at AETC installations. Eleven Air Force bases are in the training command,

Comments:
Couple of observations: (1) Is this going to play well with Dear Leader(US) Obama and his Democrat supporters like Larry Flynt? and (2) I guess the only federal job that allows porn is the Security and Exchange Commission.

Young men and women interested in sex? Who knew?

Reply 4 - Posted by: MassJim, 1/19/2013 8:35:20 PM     (No. 9127186)

Lets see. In the modern military you cannot drink, can´t visit a cat house, can´t look at porn, but you can bugger the guy in the next bunk. It is all getting very, very strange.

Guess Playboy would fall under this

As a 20 yr military guy (active & Reserve), I agree that porn has no room at work.
Also, this AF Base has new recruits, often termed "fresh meat".
Therefore, any sexual harrasment should be punished.

However, read the fine print. They are also going after "living spaces" where one should be able to read adult material.

Same sex activities are OK; looking at Playboy - not so much.

This is not the most asinine thing I have ever seen the AF do, but it is in the top 10.
We expect these kids to kill people in the most gruesome and nightmarish ways possible, yet they can´t look at naked pictures of live people. They can´t have a cigarette or a beer. They cant use offensive language. The only sex they can admit to is the gay kind.
And they said I had a bad attitude. 20 years of my life wasted.
When our warriors are expected to act like monks we really are doomed.

Unfreaking believable! As another Poster has said,, and I´ll add my Amen. I am glad I spent my years in the Marine Corps 50 years ago... Wonder what Chesty Puller would say about this "NEW" Military?
Makes you wonder if the term " Fox Hole" is now offensive?

Kinda like an old Army Sergant friend of mine said ... when he was in the Army, homosexuality was forbidden. Then it became optional. He´s just glad he retired before it became mandatory.

Can´t read Playboy in your barracks room but the Air Force Academy has a dedicated wiccan worship center.

And to think of the aircraft nose art of WWII-- and aircraft with names like "Bottoms Up", And "Choo-Choo Sally", The horror!

Just wait until we have to rely on this bunch of de-masculated "warriors" in the next big war.

#15, Wiccan is also considered a religion for purposes of burial in national cemeteries.

Thank you for the reminders 15 and 19. I´ve been a practicing Wiccan for 20 years. I was in when they first "allowed" it. When I went into our unit readiness NCO to get my dog tags changed the guy said I was the third one that day.

By my standards, a picture of the current "commander in chief" would be considered porn.

Reply 21 - Posted by: Pinchem, 1/20/2013 4:23:33 AM     (No. 9127490)

Hey, are Air Force personnel authorized to have those naked pictures of Obama´s mother? Talk about a conflict of interest.

Gee, everyone acts like this porn stuff is something new. Porn has been on bases for many many years. Prostitutes always hang around outside the base gates.

One base I was stationed in the 70´s did not allow dependents to be there. On the second floor of our barracks there was a bar. Off to one end was another room with a big stack porn films. Since there were no families allowed, the films were referred to as "Training Films" or "Refresher Course".

If they want to clean up the bases, fine but geesh...what´s with all this mock outrage?

Reply 22 - Posted by: 901AtTheRiver, 1/20/2013 6:04:00 AM     (No. 9127524)

How about that place in the front of the airplane where the drivers sit. They´re going to have to have a new name for that. The old one will simply not do in this new age of purity.

For my money they can take all this PRBS and toss it out the nearest window. This is just the latest attempt at castration of our military.

Stuff like this make one wonder what would happen if they military was so keen on sweeping DC of the filth that inhabits the offices in the seat of government.

Not to make levity of the problems, but as one poster put it what once was forbidden became optional and he was glad he got out before buggery became mandatory!

Reply 25 - Posted by: SouthSanAntonio, 1/20/2013 2:55:17 PM     (No. 9128452)

I personally have no use for porn.

But, the last I checked, it is legal to possess porn in this country.

While I have no problem with them not allowing it in offices and other public spaces, to ban it in private residences for use by adults on the base in a direct infringement of the Constitution!!!

As much as I have absolutely no faith in our current government, I will fight any infringement of the Constitution even if it doesn´t effect me directly!!!!!

This is clearly just another case of the NØbama dictatorship nitpicking away at our Constitutional rights.

Fight it now, before NØbama gets to flip the Supreme Court and they begin to rubber stamp every dictatorial action he comes up with!!!

Washington - A self-described conservative Republican who is a manager in the Internal Revenue Service office that targeted tea party groups told investigators that he, not the White House, set the review in motion, the top Democrat on the House watchdog committee said Sunday. Rep. Elijah Cummings, D-Md., released a partial transcript of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform interview with the unnamed manager in the IRS' Cincinnati office. NEW YORK - Rush Limbaugh’s distributor on Thursday said there is no denying the conservative radio host’s controversial comments about Sandra Fluke hurt advertising last year — but 2013 is apparently a whole different ballgame. This year, Limbaugh is drawing new advertisers and recovering well after the major boycott he faced in response to his broadcasts on Fluke, Premiere Radio senior vice president and director of talk radio sales Dan Metter told the Talkers New York 2013 conference.

The Democrat who implicated two members of the liberal super PAC Progress Kentucky in the secret taping of a campaign strategy meeting for Republican Sen. Mitch McConnell is changing his story. Jacob Conway, a member of the Jefferson County Democratic Executive Committee, said Friday he might have talked to only one of the men he accused, according to The Courier-Journal. Conway told the newspaper he is certain he talked with volunteer Curtis Morrison about the recording, but might not have spoken with Executive Director Shawn Reilly, contradicting what he said a day earlier.

Progress Kentucky is a super PAC that is acting more like a rogue operation in its efforts to unseat Kentucky Republican Sen. Mitch McConnell -- sending out racially sensitive tweets and allegedly making a secret recording of the Senate minority leader’s re-election strategy talks. The group has been around only since December, raising about $1,000 and spending $18, compared to the McConnell campaign that has raised $10 million toward 2014 re-election efforts, according to recent Federal Election Commission filings. Kentucky Democrats have over the past week made numerous,

Black conservatives out

During this year´s Conservative Political Action Conference, the American Conservative Union paraded its star lineup of African Americans who share their political philosophy. They were featured as a “stunning array of speakers from the African American community.” But in reality, they are not known by black America, with the exception of Dr. Benjamin Carson and Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas. The problem that conservatives face when featuring these people is that even though they are black, they are not in tune with African Americans. They do not share the struggles, frustrations and everyday problems of the community they claim to represent.

Amid a steady rise of backlash, Edward Snowden, the 29-year-old former National Security Agency contractor who was the source of a spring of leaks about the agency´s surveillance methods, conducted a live chat on The Guardian´s website Monday morning. Judging from some of the pointed questions he´s been asked and the reaction to newly leaked revelations over the past few days, it´s clear that much of the sympathy and support Snowden had built up for his early exposures is eroding. Many Americans supported his decision to leak information about a pair of National Security Agency surveillance programs, which, he detailed, gathered information

Five months into his second term, allies and enemies are as confounded as ever about who President Obama really is. Is he the dyed-in-the-wool liberal that his biggest supporters and critics suggest? Or is he a pragmatic, even cynical, politician who cares more for his popularity than taking risks for his ideological goals or living up to his rhetoric? Even in the short period since his reelection, Obama has provided evidence to support conflicting interpretations. His efforts to pass immigration reform, the unsuccessful push for stricter gun controls and tax hikes on high earners buttress the case for Obama-as-ideologue.

Charlie Rose last night asked President Obama his new Syria policy. The president first objected to it being called a new policy. "I´m not sure you can characterize this as a new policy. This is consistent with the policy that I´ve had throughout," he said. Obama then explained the goal is regional stability, and especially in Syria. "Really, what we´re trying to do is take sides against extremists of all sorts and in favor of people who are in favor of moderation, tolerance, representative government, and over the long-term, stability and prosperity for the people of Syria," said Obama.

Marco Rubio. Paul Ryan. The IRS. Illegal immigration. And fraud to the tune of billions.. Now there’s a combustible mix. Let’s start with the IRS, illegal immigration and fraud. We’ll come back in a minute to Senator Rubio and Congressman Ryan. For those who came in late, a year before the IRS scandals burst onto the scene in early May of 2013, an alert investigative reporter for WTHR-Indianapolis (Channel 13), Bob Segall by name, produced a stunning piece of journalism. Segall’s video report is found here and we will quote from his story for the basics.
