Politicians and companies seem to be in the same boat, instead of simply responding truthfully and vowing to correct the situation, and in this case they could have even profited from it by having a special promotion ( say 25% off our 11 inch foot-long sub), they beat around the bush and obfuscate. They had a great opportunity to capitalize on the matter.
Its so easy to make thing right when you tell the truth you can never understand why they don´t do it. The temp in Sydney, Autralia is now well over 100 degrees and that it itself will shrink the foot to a shorter length.
Anyways, who cares. I have 4 of their promotional coupons on hand right now and the discount is excellent, whether or not the subs are 12 or 11 inches long.

I just wish the msm would scrutinize the obama administration as they did the foot long tuna with lettuce.

The foot could be the length of Hillary cloven hoof rather than the English unit of measurement. If you measure food before eating it you have too much time on your hands. Did point to a cafeteria worker once that the sign says "pork chops" which implies two or more and she only gave me one. Lucky to still be alive.

Their theory probably is if you shave an inch off the roll X´s millions of rolls,you save a lot of dough(no pun intended).

I remember sometime when I was a kid they sold solid gumballs until some genius figured out if you make the center hollow,your profits will go through the roof.

I´ve seen other food shrink over the years,not by much but it does add to the margin.

To be outraged over an inch of roll is crazy. When I buy a sub at the sub shop,sometimes they´re real long or short just by the miscalculation of the person cutting the roll.

That would make the 6 inch only 5.5 inches. Hummmmmm maybe they should just Trademark ´half a foot long" too.

I think it´s probably Obama inflation to blame. The subs were probably a footlong at one point, but then lost an inch, just as cans of food in the stores went from 16 oz to 15 oz, packets of cheese contained 12 pieces instead of 14, boxes of juice contained 23 ounces instead of 24 for the same price - this is hidden inflation all over and going on all the time. Newspapers are shrinking in size as well, and there are lots of other little corner cuttings business is doing in response to Obama´s government-spending and money printing spree, the root sources of inflation.

Get used to it, it´s going to keep coming in the Obama era.

My feet are 11" long. Go, Subway!!

We went to Subway yesterday and I asked for an 11" Pastrami Meal for me and a 6" meal for my wife. The lady said they only had a 12" not an 11". It could have been an English as a second language problem though.

For all of you that don´t bake I will reveal the secret. Bread does not get measured by length. Any company measures the bread by the materials in it and then tries to shape it. The particular baker in Australia just didn´t shape it at twelve inches long. He/she should have made it a bit thinner or a bit narrower: then it would have been twelve inches long.

After drying and plaining to it´s finished dimensions it is smaller.

If you specify "Rough Cut" you can still get full size.

So I guess this is similar to the disclaimer that the Quarter Pounder refers to the pre-cooked patty weight.

Years ago, Subway´s sandwiches were 12" long. After a prolonged absence I stopped there again and you can immediately notice the bread was not as long. Subway´s response is BS.

If it´s advertised as being a foot long, it should be a foot long. No ifs, no buts. I´m not falling for the idea that it´s simply a trademark. I think Subway is trying to escape responsibility here.

So, does that mean the 6" sandwich is really on 5-1/2"???
