LOS ANGELES— Disney CEO Bob Iger´s pay package got an 18 percent boost last year to $37.1 million as the company posted record revenue, net income and earnings per share. The Walt Disney Co. also cited Iger´s leadership in the $4.06 billion acquisition of "Star Wars" creator Lucasfilm, along with the launch of theme park additions, cruise ships and the expansion of the Disney Channel overseas. Iger, 61, saw the biggest jump in pay from the value of new stock option awards, which hit $7.8 million in 2012, up from $4.8 million in 2011, according to a regulatory filing

Disney is now so corrupt and badly run. Doesn´t the board decide CEO compensation? I would never buy their stock...maybe I would short it though. They screwed up after the success of Lion King and stupid greed that drove them to hire a bunch of unnecessary middle and executive management types and the eventual layoff of their entire staff of artists to be replaced by a few computer geeks to crank out tons of bad sequel movies. It makes me sick to think of what they did to that company. Ol´ Walt is spinning in his grave.

You won´t hear a peep from the corporate greed haters on this guy.

If it was the Koch Brothers, the left would be crying up a storm, saying nobody needs to make this much money and they´re overcharging customers.

I lost track a long time ago of all the subsidiaries Disney owns but if Obama picks up the phone and wants a favor,it´s there in 5 minutes. If you think this guy (Iger) is going to pay 39.5% taxes this year, you´re smoking something dangerous. He´s the type that would get an Obama carve out.

Disney & its CEO Iger are both in bed with the WH. For them, there is no such thing as a point where they´ve made enough money. Other demonrat bed buddies get rich on the taxpayer dime (think green crap).

As Congress and the public struggle to comprehend the scandals rocking the Obama administration, it is important not to overlook a common thread linking all of the misconduct: the administration’s paranoia that voters would see it as weak on national defense. For having the temerity to raise questions about U.S. policy toward terrorists and Iran, Israel and North Korea, the Obama IRS targeted a non-partisan group with which I am affiliated and illegally leaked its confidential information. The White House’s paranoia about public perceptions of foreign threats also drove its scandalous surveillance of Associated Press (AP) reporters.

NORFOLK -This was supposed to be the week when thousands of free-spending Norfolk sailors were to descend on lower Manhattan, where New Yorkers promised to shower them with gifts, drinks and kisses. But the annual party on the Hudson River was canceled. Fleet Week New York – like all the Navy’s big community outreach events this year – fell victim to sweeping federal budget cuts. Most of the sailors who would have been treated to free baseball tickets and complimentary subway rides instead will spend the week idling in Hampton Roads traffic and reporting for duty at Norfolk Naval Station.

Anne E. Marimow of the Washington Post alerts fellow MSMers and the public that the DoJ´s AP scandal might be the tip of the iceberg, and that in spying on the press, the Justice Department "did more than obtain telephone records of a working journalist." She offers readers "a rare glimpse into the inner workings of one such [leak] probe" with "striking similarities to a sweeping leaks investigation disclosed last week in which federal investigators obtained records over two months of more than 20 telephone lines assigned to the Associated Press." With approximately one-third of congressional committees preoccupied with investigating Obama corruption – from Benghazi-gate, to the IRS scandal, to Obamacare propaganda – the First Family might be tempted to escape to some far away location for vacation. As Judicial Watch knows all too well, this is something the Obamas have done with some frequency since taking office in 2009, and largely on the taxpayers’ dime. JW has been the leading investigative force on the Obama’s taxpayer-funded luxury trips, using the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) to get ahold of records about the costs of this abuse

WASHINGTON — The Obama administration’s efforts to raise private money to carry out the president’s health care law have provoked such a strong partisan uproar that potential donors have become skittish about contributing, according to several people involved in the fund-raising program. White House officials said they did not sign off on the fund-raising calls made by Kathleen Sebelius, the secretary of health and human services, but were generally aware that she would be seeking support from outside groups. Two House committees have begun investigating the solicitations. Five senior Republicans from the Senate and the House

Fire-breathing political advocates from the both sides of America´s political divide have issued new calls for Barack Obama to fire his attorney general, Eric Holder. LIberal radio show host Bill Press weighed in on the air Friday, and then in a series of tweets, while Texas Senator John Cornyn put a target on Holder´s back during a Sunday television appearance. ´I think it’s past time for him to go and for the president to appoint somebody who the public can have confidence in,´ the ultra-conservative Cornyn said on the CBS show Face The Nation. ´You know, I´ve lost confidence

What did President Obama do on the evening of 9/11/12 when our men were under attack in Benghazi? The invaluable Andrew McCarthy reminds us that Obama and Secretary Clinton had a 10:00 p.m. phone call of which many (including, I think, Chris Wallace) have lost sight. This morning when Wallace asked Obama aide Dan Pfeiffer what Obama was up to that evening, Pfeiffer declared the line of inquiry “offensive.” Translation: Obama and his minions would prefer to “move on” and are warning the likes of FNC off:(Snip for video)The Weekly Standard’s Daniel Halper has posted the rush transcript

WASHINGTON - There were new questions Saturday night concerning if anyone in the White House was aware of the IRS´ targeting of conservative groups. Inspector General Russell George said he informed a deputy at the Treasury Department in June of 2012 about the probe into the IRS. The Treasury Department confirmed the timeline but said they did not know the details of the investigation until last week.(Snip)Marcus Owens ran the tax-exempt division at the IRS for 10 years. PRESIDENT OBAMA: You are the mantle of Frederick Douglass and Booker T. But when it came to their own accomplishments and sense of purpose, they had no time for excuses. Every one of you has a grandma or an uncle or a parent whose told you at some point in life

It began in earnest last Friday. A flash mob of latte drinking, tofu eating media that has done its best to quell, rather than fan the flames of truth, turned on one of their own. Jay Carney lay bludgeoned at the base of the podium, a victim of friendly fire. Ironically, the attack was reminiscent of the one in Benghazi he has repeatedly denied the Administration he represents bears any responsibility for. “Changed twelve times?!” came the cries. And with good reason. We were misled; no, lied to.

Treasury Secretary Jack Lew on Friday urged congressional leaders to raise the debt limit and insisted that the White House is not going to negotiate over the increase because lawmakers have "no choice." "We will not negotiate over the debt limit," Lew wrote. "The creditworthiness of the United States is non-negotiable. The question of whether the country must pay obligations it has already incurred is not open to debate." Lew said that while President Obama is willing to discuss plans to reduce the nation´s deficit with Congress, those talks must be kept separate from any effort to raise the nation´s debt cap.

Washington – Sen. Claire McCaskill, D-MO, issued a video statement Friday in response to reports that the Internal Revenue Service unfairly targeted conservative nonprofit groups. (Snip) “There’s a reason Lady Justice wears a blindfold in America. That is because in America, we don’t apply the law based on who you are, who you know, or what you believe.
