Connecticut Dem Proposes
Federal Tax Credit for
Surrendering ´Assault Weapons´

Rep. Rosa DeLauro (D-Conn.) has introduced a bill that would give individuals a federal tax credit for surrendering their semiautomatic weapons. The “Support Assault Firearms Elimination and Reduction for our Streets Act” would amend the Internal Revenue Code to “allow a credit against tax for surrendering to authorities certain assault weapons.” Section 25E of the bill reads: In the case of an individual who surrenders a specified assault weapon to the United States or a State or local government (or political subdivision thereof) as part of a Federal,

Obama voters with assault weapons don´t pay taxes anyway so that´s a horse that won´t run.

This is a pretty good idea. I wonder what government surplus store we can buy the surrendered weapons from.

“Support Assault Firearms Elimination and Reduction for our Streets Act”

OK, so what moronic acronym is this intended to inspire, obviously SAFE-something. Idiots see meaning in that kind of nonsense.

Rosa DeLauro is my Congressional Rep. She is a Socialist and a millionaire at the same time...Also believes in a womans right to choose abortion and still claims to be a Catholic. Go figure. This latest idea of turning in weapons to get a tax credit is infantile...what crook pays federal income taxes? You think the law abiding citizens of Ct are going to turn in their weapons for a tax credit? Think again Rosa.

I can´t find a story on the "Support Assault Firearms Elimination and Protect our Representatives Act." You remember -- that´s the one where those super-effective "This is a Gun-Free Zone" signs go up on the Capital Building in place of depending on the false sense of security some mistakenly find in the Capital Police and the Secret Service´s armed officers.

#1: As far as I an tell, the current definition of an "assault weapon" is anything that goes "Bang!" Of course, after that stabbing incident....

It seems every question the dims are confronted with involves some sort of federal spending. This means people in Texas will be paying for people in Conn to have their guns destroyed. Hopefully those of us in Texas will provide a good market for those guns and will pay as much as the government will for them.

The flip side of a "tax credit" is a new tax on everyone who doesn´t turn them in. If they can find them, of course. Which leads to how to find them....

Rosa is married to a Democrat pollster and a big insider in the former Clinton administration and an insider in the Obama administration .....she is so far to the left she could be easily described as a Socialist.......I doubt she would ever lose her seat in Congress because she comes from a very liberal part of New Haven area of Connecticut......sorry to say..........

Actually, if you read her stupid bill, you will see that the tax credit applies to the tax IN THIS ACT! So, it appears that if you turn in your weapon, you don´t have to pay the tax she will charge those who don´t turn them in.

And, registration is mandatory!

#8 that is because Democrats are the equivalent of bad parents. "Here´s some money kid, now go away. Here´s a tv and an X-box, now go away. Here´s the key to the liquor cabinet, now go away. Here´s a new car, please, just go away. Please be home in time to take care of me in my old age."

Hmmm... Lots of us in Texas will be happy to give you a much better price for your Ruger 10/22 (which in Connecticut is probably classed as an assault weapon, since you can buy a 50-round magazine for it) than you will get from any governmental entity. Yankees are generally really, well, dumb. I know there are a few of you that aren´t, but seriously . . . how can you stand to continue to live in that swamp of stupidity?

Researchers at Princeton and Northwestern universities have pored over 1,800 US policies and concluded that America is an oligarchy. Instead of looking out for the majority of the country’s citizens, the US government is ruled by the interests of the rich and the powerful, they found. No great surprises there, then. But the government is not the only American power whose motivations need to be rigourously examined. Some 2,400 miles away from Washington, in Silicon Valley, Google is aggressively gaining power with little to keep it in check. It has cosied up to governments around the world so effectively that its chairman,

Then-Sens. Joe Biden and John Kerry were both opposed to Hillary Clinton’s 1993 health-care reform program, according to documents released by the Clinton presidential library. Clinton marked a handwritten “No” beside Biden’s name on Clinton’s list of Capitol Hill lawmakers that she needed to win over for her universal health care law, known as the “Clinton health plan” or “Hillarycare,” to pass. John Kerry, meanwhile, was marked with a “Probably not.” “Hillarycare” ended up dying in the Democratic-controlled Senate in 1994 without coming to a floor vote. Wayne Crews of the Competitive Enterprise Institute and Alexis de Tocqueville, author of the classic Democracy in America, were born in different times and places. But the French aristocrat and American think tanker have the measure of the federal behemoth in the age of Obama. Writing in 1835, Tocqueville eloquently predicted how it would function, while Crews today supplies in his annual compilation of federal rules and regulations, “10,000 Commandments,” the hard numbers that describe the behemoth´s contemporary reach and costs. It is always worthwhile to revisit de Tocqueville’s description of what he called the

The White House is going to war with another fox — and this time, it’s personal. The Wall Street Journal reports that a red fox has been causing chaos around the White House, tripping security alarms, digging up Michelle’s garden and distracting the president from his duties. The Secret Service won’t give any details about how often the fox trips the White House’s obviously sophisticated security alarms, but rest assured, officials say, they’re watching. President Obama was apparently “stunned” to see the fox roaming freely down the oft-photographed White House colonnade, home to the world’s shortest, but most dramatic, outdoor strolls.
