Heavy and grey is the head that wears the crown - a lesson that President Obama and many of his predecessors have learned the hard way. When Mr Obama takes the oath of office next Monday marking the beginning of his second term, it will not be the same smooth-cheeked, black-haired man who first joined the exclusive club of leaders of the free world in 2008. Comparing pictures of the 51-year-old commander-in-chief from four years to those taken more recently reveals a startling yet obvious truth: standing at the helm of the U.S. government takes a heavy physical toll. Headline resplit to site style

That´s nothing compared to how much we´ve aged since he´s been in the White House.

Well... he has spent the last four years worrying that he might not be able to compleely destroy this Nation in just one term...
And now, after four years of unrelenting attacks on the Constitution, the private sector, our legal system, and on every working / productive American Citizen, he is worried that America just might survive another four years.
And THAT would destroy his legacy, which is: He wants to go down in history as the ONLY man powerful and ruthless enough to bring down the Greatest Nation on Earth. He wants to become known as the all time patron saint of Marxists and Socialiss for all time to come.
Either that or he is secretly haunted by the forged Birth Certificate...

I´ve aged, too, these past four years. My friends all say I need a vacation, to someplace warm, with a beach. Maybe if Obama could scrape together enough money to take his family on a real vacation, once in a while, he would look more rested.

Obie´s aging past his prime? Well.... We could put together a "Palin Panel" from posters on this thread...
You know what Palin calls those panels...
Then we could acknowledge that we all live under the newest version of a Dicktater from Imperial Rome...
and, keeping it real, vote Thumbs Up or Thumbs Down in our "Palin Panel"... regarding the fate of our dear Dicktater.
Once the (predicktable) results are in, maybe draw straws to see who might enforce the "Palin Panel" verdict.
This reality show can expect sky-high ratings. If only...

And I´m sure you all know Moo!chelle wears a rug(s). She can´t have much real hair left by now. Just think, we have to keep her in wighats for the rest of her long life. And pay for their occasional cleaning.

A theater critic is unrepentant after he quite literally took the law into his own hands and smashed the cellphone of another patron who refused to stop using it during a performance on Wednesday night. Kevin Williamson, a writer for the National Review, was attending a performance of ´Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812,´ described as an ‘electro-pop opera’ based on ‘War and Peace’ and playing in New York at Kazino, a temporary structure beside The Standard Hotel. Writing about the incident on the National Review’s website, Williamson said he recommended the show but thought the audience

In an age of terrorism, we have become used to seeing armed police at major railway stations and airports, or guarding other potential targets such as embassies. But when officers with guns are needed to patrol the streets of an English town because of an upsurge in gang shootings, it seems we have reached something of a watershed in our national life. The images of paramilitary-style policemen with assault rifles escorting parents and children to school in Luton are a shocking confirmation that law and order has collapsed in parts of our country. In the past four months, there have

The Ukip leader Nigel Farage has condemned the "fascist scum" who forced him to take refuge in an Edinburgh pub and hung up on a BBC Scotland interview over outrage at the "hatred" in its questioning. The leader of the UK Independence Party said the "excesses of Scottish nationalism" can be "pretty ugly" and "deeply unpleasant" after he was surrounded and hassled by hardline demonstrators yesterday. [Snip] Asked about how many elected representatives he has in Scotland, Mr Farage said: "Absolutely none, but rather more than the BBC. We could have had this interview in England a couple of years

It’s lasted four years, but President Obama’s political honeymoon is finally over. He had his share of troubles during the first term, but at least his character seemed beyond reproach. For most of the public he represented real, historic change: not just the first black president, but a president determined to restore moral principle to the White House. It also helped that parts of the American press appeared lovestruck. The news broadcaster Chris Matthews once said that hearing Obama speak sent "a thrill going up my leg". Now the thrill is gone. Just five months into his second term

This has been a nightmare week for Barack Obama, without a doubt the worst of his presidency so far. [Snip] Holder was simply unable or unwilling to answer most key questions, and demonstrated a level of contempt for elected officials in Congress that was breathtaking. It was yet another public relations disaster for the Obama team. In addition the administration has come under heavy fire over the Justice Department’s monitoring of phone records belonging to Associated Press journalists. All this has combined to create a perfect storm in the first year of Obama’s second term, a wave of scandals

Nice try, Mr. President. Feigning anger, firing an unknown bureaucrat and fleeing the podium won’t cut it with voters, or stop the hemorrhaging of the scandals that have spawned a Watergate-like feel around the Obama administration. There was a certain panicky look about the way the president quickly delivered a rare evening White House statement to try to quell the growing outrage over the IRS targeting of Tea Party groups. The move showed how damaging the scandal has become to Obama’s second term and maybe even his presidency. But Obama took no questions and, more importantly,

Watching President Obama trying to dodge raindrops and responsibility yesterday reminded me of the moment when Dorothy pulls back the curtain and discovers that the Wizard of Oz is “just a man.” Stripped of his spell of mystery and power, the wizard is worse than mortal. He’s a fake. So it was with Obama in the Rose Garden. His performance was tired and trite, ordinary to the point of dull. His veneer of passion was so transparent that you could see him trying to summon his old-time magic by pushing the buttons

STANDING BEFORE reporters Thursday, President Obama declined an invitation to compare the recent scandals weighing down his administration with those that forced President Nixon to resign in 1974. So allow us to do the work for him: There is no comparison. Nixon, in a series of crimes that collectively came to be known as Watergate, directed from the White House and Justice Department a concerted campaign against those he perceived as political enemies, in the process subverting the FBI, the IRS, other government agencies and the electoral process to his nefarious purposes. Mr. Obama has done nothing of the kind.

The State Department, under Secretary Hillary Rodham Clinton, created an arrangement for her longtime aide and confidante Huma Abedin to work for private clients as a consultant while serving as a top adviser in the department. Ms. Abedin did not disclose the arrangement — or how much income she earned — on her financial report. It requires officials to make public any significant sources of income. An adviser to Mrs. Clinton, Philippe Reines, said that Ms. Abedin was not obligated to do so. The disclosure of the agreement that Ms. Abedin made with the State Department comes as her husband,

The White House on Wednesday released 94 pages of emails between top administration and intelligence officials who helped shape the talking points about the attacks in Benghazi, Libya, that the CIA would provide to policymakers in both the legislative and executive branches. The documents, first reported by THE WEEKLY STANDARD in articles here and here, directly contradict claims by White House press secretary Jay Carney and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton that the revisions of those talking points were driven by the intelligence community and show heavy input from top Obama administration officials, particularly those at the State Department.

On Thursday´s NBC Today, in a desperate attempt to deflect from the scandals engulfing the Obama administration, co-host Savannah Guthrie wondered: "I read a headline yesterday that said Republicans see blood in the water. That they see a president who´s very vulnerable politically. Is there a danger that they will overreach?" Chief White House correspondent Chuck Todd agreed with the slanted premise: "There is. I mean, that´s what happened to Republicans in 1998 with Bill Clinton.

President Obama’s press conference in the rain was not a success, if by success, his supporters would mean an event which convinces anyone who doesn’t work for him that he’s getting ahead of the scandal deluge. The sight of a Marine holding an umbrella over his head only added to the weirdness of the event. So what did we learn? 1. He has full confidence in Attorney General Eric Holder, the man who purportedly recused himself (whenever) without putting it in writing (whatever). When asked about the untrammeled snooping on Associated Press reporters and editors,
