During the National Rifle Association’s meeting with Vice President Joe Biden and the White House gun violence task force, the vice president said the Obama administration does not have the time to fully enforce existing gun laws. Jim Baker, the NRA representative present at the meeting, recalled the vice president’s words during an interview with The Daily Caller: “And to your point, Mr. Baker, regarding the lack of prosecutions on lying on Form 4473s, we simply don’t have the time or manpower to prosecute everybody who lies on a form, that checks a wrong box,
Comments: They also obviously don´t have time to fully enforce existing immigration laws. Democrats never will abide by the rule of law. They are nothing but dangerous criminals.
So, since we don´t have time to enforce current laws, we want to pass additional laws, which we also will not enforce, to fix the problems that are caused by our failure to enforce existing laws. The question is, if there is no consequence to breaking existing laws, what makes them think that people would obey the new laws? Oh, that´s right, the purpose of the new laws is not to address an actual problem. The purpose of the new law is to create another layer of selective enforcement they can use to harass their political opponents.
Joe if you don´t have time to prosecute violators of existing gun laws why create more gun laws? Is it just so you can feel good that you did something even if it is meaningless? When these new gun laws have no effect the Democrats will then proclaim that only way to stop "gun violence" is to confiscate all guns. That is coming next it´s why they are called progressives.
Come on Ldotters, think this through. Since the government doesn´t have the time or the manpower to prosecute those who lie on their application what biden means is that the government will now refuse ALL applications. After all, IT´S FOR THE CHILDREN!
Actually, previous court cases (decades ago now) established felons couldn´t be prosecuted for their answers on the form since it violated their 5th amendment civil right. The forms were altered but I didn´t bother to track the situation after that - so I can´t tell you if more recent cases have been pursued in the interim. Bottom line is sheeple allow their government to require of them what it can´t require of criminals and think that is just fine and makes them safer.
For instance, try charging a criminal for failure to register. You might get them for possession, but you can´t nail a criminal for failure to register as that violates their 5th amendment right. Several court cases established that. But you can nail an ´honest´ citizen who isn´t a criminal for failure to register, since they weren´t in jeopardy by registering, unlike a felon. That´s the kind of nonsense sheeple support when they think ´common sense´ ´gun control´ is just fine. They´re nothing less than idiots, morons and from the shallow end of the gene pool.
In his book “The Audacity of Hope,” President Barack Obama praised the Constitution and the federalism it enshrines, including the “three coequal” branches of government and checks on power that “prevent tyranny by either the few or the many." “The outlines of Madison’s constitutional architecture are so familiar that even schoolchildren can recite them: not only rule of law and representative government, not just a bill of rights, but also the separation of the national government into three coequal branches, a bicameral Congress, and a concept of federalism that preserved authority in state governments, all of it designed to diffuse
White House press secretary Jay Carney said that they’re leaving the investigation of an American teacher shot in Benghazi up to the Libyans. The Libya Herald reported that chemistry teacher Ronnie Smith, 33, was running on Dubai Street in Benghazi’s Digadosta district when he was shot multiple times. According to witnesses, Smith was approached by a black SUV that “drove up to him and retreated several times before shots were fired from the vehicle.” Smith had lived in Benghazi for 13 months with his wife and their 2-year old while teaching at Benghazi International School. His wife had flown back
President Obama directed federal agencies and the military to nearly triple renewable energy consumption by the end of the decade, setting a target of getting 20 percent of electricity from renewable sources. The move, which comes through executive order, is the latest in a series of administrative efforts the White House has employed to address climate change through curbing greenhouse gas emissions. And focusing on the federal government -- the nation´s largest energy user -- could have a significant impact. "Meeting this renewable energy goal will reduce pollution in our communities, promote American energy independence, and support homegrown energy produced by American
The President´s problems are not restricted to millennials -- a majority of whom support throwing him out of office. A new Gallup poll finds that his job approval among Hispanics has fallen 23% in the last year. What´s more, white women (especially blue collar white women) have turned sharply against ObamaCare. From the National Journal, reporting on polling provided to it from the Kaiser Family Foundation: According to Kaiser, 40 percent of college-educated white women hold a “very unfavorable” view of the law—10 points higher than a month ago. An additional 10 percent view the law “somewhat unfavorably.” A month
This has to be the lamest spin to date in defense of Obama´s most famous mega-lie, and it comes from an appropriately lame source. Cringe-worthy: "What he said was true. If you want to keep the insurance you have, you can keep it. The problem is, we did not put the bill into effect that way." I´m speechless. The promise Obama made was true, except for the fact that the law he signed didn´t allow it to be kept. Incredible. Reid´s bigger point -- and I use the term loosely -- is that because insurance plans are renewed on an
A group of young ballerinas rehearsing for “The Nutcracker” was kicked out of American University’s theatre so MSNBC host Chris Matthews could interview President Obama on Thursday. American University admitted they dumped Ballet Petite’s two final dress rehearsals so they could host MSNBC’s “Hardball College Tour.” Matthews will be presiding over a one-hour conversation with the man he’s likened to President Kennedy’s last brother, President Abraham Lincoln and Jesus Christ. The ballet company had been scheduled to rehearse on Wednesday and Thursday in preparation for their opening performance on Sunday.
The Internal Revenue Service quietly proposed new regulations aimed at 501(c)(4) organizations during the Thanksgiving recess that Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA), Chairman of the House Oversight Committee, called "a crass political effort by the Administration to get what political advantage they can, when they can." Tea Party groups and other conservative organizations were apparently singled out by the IRS starting in 2010, and the heavy hand of government suppression of these groups may have greatly attributed to Obama´s re-election, an American Enterprise Institute study revealed in October. The Washington Post reported last week the Treasury Department said the new rules “may be
I have never been much of a conspiracy theorist. For me it was always Oswald by himself from the Texas School Book Depository and nothing in the intervening fifty years has disabused me of this notion. For the most part, I’m an Occam’s Razor kind of guy — the most obvious explanation is likely to be true. (Snip) To put it bluntly, Occam’s Razor has moved. Things that were once possibilities now seem almost certainties to me. Principal among those is that Obama’s academic records are perpetually unavailable for a reason — and that reason is most likely that they reveal
One of President Obama´s chief political assets has been his ability to excite young people like almost no politician in history. But the days of America´s youth fawning over the president are over. A new Harvard University Institute of Politics poll released Wednesday confirms what other surveys have shown in recent months: Millennials have soured on Obama so much this year that their opinion of him largely mirrors the American public´s. Even though Obama does not ever have to face another election, he should be worried about the findings for a couple of reasons, which we will dive into momentarily.
A stunning new study unveiled on Fox News´ Hannity finds that President Barack Obama’s White House calendar records just one face-to-face meeting between Obama and his Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Kathleen Sebelius in the more than three-and-a-half years leading up to the disastrous Obamacare launch. The startling statistic comes from a new Government Accountability Institute (GAI) analysis of Obama’s own official White House calendar, as well as the Politico presidential calendar, and raises new questions about Obama’s executive leadership and management throughout the implementation of his singular legislative achievement. More alarming still, the president’s schedule lists 277 private
[Video] President Obama on Wednesday declared that addressing income inequality would be the focus of “all” of the White House’s efforts “for the rest of my presidency.” In a sweeping address that touched on raising the minimum wage, investing in infrastructure and ending tax breaks for the wealthy, Obama warned that the American economy has become “profoundly unequal,” declaring economic mobility the “challenge of our time.” “The combined trends of increasing inequality and decreasing mobility pose a fundamental threat to the American dream, our way of life, and what we stand for around the globe,” he said in an hour-long
Just over two weeks ago, MSNBC host Martin Bashir delivered a harsh piece of commentary that culminated in the suggestion that someone should “s-h-i-t” in former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin‘s (R-AK) mouth. Bashir offered an abject apology on his next broadcast, but a chorus of critics continued to demand action against the host. After a reported “vacation” for the host earlier this week, Bashir announced, Wednesday afternoon, that MSNBC and Martin Bashir are parting ways. Here’s the statement from Martin Bashir, via email: After making an on-air apology, I asked for permission to take some additional time out around the Thanksgiving holiday. Upon
Amid an array of “knock-out” attacks against a number of Jews in Brooklyn’s Crown Heights neighborhood, a city councilwoman pointed to the success of the Jewish community as triggering the aggression. Councilwoman-elect Laurie Cumbo emphasized that while she “admire[s] the Jewish community immensely” for its work ethic, black teens may see it differently. “While I personally regard this level of tenacity, I also recognize that for others, the accomplishments of the Jewish community triggers feelings of resentment, and a sense that Jewish success is not also their success,” Cumbo, who was recently elected, wrote in a letter. Chief among the issues
America is facing a wave of strikes by its fast-food workers on Thursday a day after Barack Obama warned that inequality in the USA had soared to the point that it now posed "a fundamental threat to the American dream". Low-paid workers in McDonalds, Kentucky Fried Chicken and other fast-food outlets in 100 cities across America were due to start rolling strikes to protest at the low level of America´s $7.25 (£4.45) federal minimum wage. The strikes are the latest part of a mushrooming publicity campaign for higher wages among those working so-called "McJobs", with fast-food restaurants seen as a
