| As outlined in a column earlier this week, Republicans/conservatives should try to outmaneuver Barack Obama and his leftist allies via a new strategy consisting of guerrilla tactics, constantly keeping Obama on the defensive, combined with a re-crafting of how conservatives communicate our principles. Conservatives have proved inept at managing crisis-atmosphere brinksmanship, but we can consistently win smaller skirmishes and ward off societal disaster long enough to outlast the Democrats’ current hold on the Senate and the White House. It’s not that budget-cutters in Congress are wrong, for instance, to try to use the debt ceiling and other legislative deadlines

I don´t know about others, but I am very tired of the two sides acting as if they are opponents in a war. The American people ´hired´ them to govern the country. We expect them to do that. That means figuring out areas where they can agree on things instead of working out plans to sabotage one another.

The constant "giving in" only lets the camel into the tent a little farther each time. It is like the guy at the bar who keeps telling the barkeep "ok, only one more drink--only to keep saying it. Pretty soon he is drunk and his money is gone.

Even if republicans do manage to assemble a coherent set of party principles, where´s the outlet to get it across. Nobody is going on the leftist news outlets,so that leaves Fox and red internet stations, both of which have limited reach.
A lot of people in this country develop their opinions over reading simple headlines. The right need to figure out the use of headlines to get their point across. You don´t have to get knee deep in explaining policies.
There was a story a week ago comparing the US debt to an average person´s credit card debt. It was a good illustration of how ludicrous our national debt is but that was the end of the story.
Obama taking a constitutional oath next week is as big a joke as there ever was.Of course none one will call him out on how many times he´s already broken it.One of the latest examples is him spying on Americans without probable cause. You´re assumed to be a terrorist before you can get on a plane. Now you´re assumed to be a mass murderer because you own a firearm.

Why not sit back and allow the full effect of O´s policies decimate the very people he pretended to help.
Our ideas are better but since they didn´t come along with free stuff they weren´t embraced.

While I agree with the author, the problem is that the GOP is not instinctively conservative, and despite assurances by the pundits to the contrary, the Rockefeller wing of the Party is still very much in control.
His program strategy, while very acceptable to most of us here, is not the program that Boner and his band of merry RINOs wants to enact because of the fact that it is conservative in word and deed--something they are for the most part, not.

I think demint´s leaving congress was the signal, for me, that there really are no conservatives in our congress. And DO NOT point to ryan, he is no conservative, just a compromiser to the dems. Being conservative needs to come from the home/family unit....which is no longer intact in this country. It needs to come from teachers teaching reading, writing and arithmetic, not propaganda and social engineering....which is no longer being done. So how do you rebuild the USA when the basic framework is corrupted?

There is a common element to the so-called Obama scandals—the IRS targeting of conservatives, the fatal attack in Benghazi, and widespread spying on U.S. journalists and ordinary Americans. It is a lack of credibility. In each case, the Obama administration has helped make controversies worse by changing its stories, distorting facts, and lying. The abuse of trust may be taking a toll on President Obama´s reputation. A CNN/ORC poll of 1,104 adult Americans June 11-13 shows the president´s job approval rating at 45 percent, down 8 percentage points in a month. Among young voters, only 48 percent approve of the president´s performance,

In a sign of our (not very civil) times, Michelle Obama was heckled at a recent Democratic Party fundraiser by a perturbed lesbian activist, Ellen Sturtz. The first lady seemed ruffled. "One of the things I don´t do well is this," she said, as she left the podium, moving toward the protester. Looking at Sturtz, but addressing the crowd, Mrs. Obama said, "You can listen to me or you can take the mic, but I´m leaving. You all decide. You have one choice."

WASHINGTON — A member of Congress asks the director of national intelligence if the National Security Agency collects data on millions of Americans. "No, sir," James Clapper responds. Pressed, he adds a caveat: "Not wittingly." Then, NSA programs that do precisely that are disclosed. It turns out that President Barack Obama´s intelligence chief lied. Or as he put it last week: "I responded in what I thought was the most truthful or least most untruthful manner, by saying, ´No,´ because the program was classified."

The U.S. surveillance state as outlined and explained by Edward Snowden is not worth the price. Its size, scope and intrusiveness, its ability to target and monitor American citizens, its essential unaccountability—all these things are extreme. The purpose of the surveillance is enhanced security, a necessary goal to say the least. The price is a now formal and agreed-upon acceptance of the end of the last vestiges of Americans´ sense of individual distance and privacy from the government. The price too is a knowledge, based on human experience and held by all but fools and children,

The high priests of liberalism must be tossing and turning in their organic cotton bedding and downing more small-batch artisanal whisky each night trying to cope with the abject failure of their cause. They know, even if the masses do not yet fully understand, that their worldview no longer makes sense in light of scandal after scandal in Washington and that the end result could be a great, if slow, deconversion on the scale of the millions who no longer believe in the Christianity its philosophy replaced.

If the government is turning to Big Brother in an effort to safeguard the homeland, then the tech companies are Rich Uncles, intent on getting ever richer. And for Facebook and the others, data translate to advertising dollars. With the U.S. economy in its slowest job-market recovery since World War II and still 2.6 million jobs short from its payroll peak in January 2008, it’s good to hear there’s finally someone in the Obama administration who says he knows how to jump-start an economy. On May 26, Secretary of State John Kerry announced at the World Economic Forum in Jordan that he’s been working with former British Prime Minister Tony Blair on a “transformative” economic plan that could grow the Palestinian economy by an astounding 50 percent in three years.

A group of whistleblowers, including a number of aviation experts, have come forward in a new documentary to claim that the official explanation for the crash of TWA Flight 800 was wrong and a gas tank explosion did not bring down the flight off the coast of Long Island 17 years ago. However, the six whistleblowers, all part of the original investigation team, stopped short of saying the plane was shot down. Flight 800, a Boeing 747, had just taken off from JFK airport with 230 people aboard on July 17, 1996 enroute to Paris when it exploded

An attorney whose firm represents two Benghazi whistleblowers said Gen. Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, lied to the Senate when he said there was never a “stand down” order during the Benghazi attack on Sept. 11, 2012. “What was fascinating is that he explained his lie to them,” Joe DiGenova, an attorney representing one of the whistleblowers, told CNSNews.com. “He actually said they were sent to Tripoli. They were needed in Benghazi,” said DiGenova, a former U.S. attorney, now with the Washington firm of DiGenova & Toensing.

Amid a steady rise of backlash, Edward Snowden, the 29-year-old former National Security Agency contractor who was the source of a spring of leaks about the agency´s surveillance methods, conducted a live chat on The Guardian´s website Monday morning. Judging from some of the pointed questions he´s been asked and the reaction to newly leaked revelations over the past few days, it´s clear that much of the sympathy and support Snowden had built up for his early exposures is eroding. Many Americans supported his decision to leak information about a pair of National Security Agency surveillance programs, which, he detailed, gathered information

As NewsBusters reported last week, former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin called out vulgarian comedian Bill Maher for referring to her Down Syndrome son Trig as "retarded." On ABC´s The View Monday, co-host Barbara Walters astonishingly defended Maher saying, "I don´t think he intended it to be mean-spirited" (video follows with transcript and commentary): WHOOPI GOLDBERG: At a recent standup show in Las Vegas, comedian Bill Maher apparently called Sarah Palin’s five-year-old developmentally-challenged son Trig retarded. And Sarah blasted him on Twitter as a bully. Is that, is it, is he a bully? Is he a bad, what is he?

Charlie Rose last night asked President Obama his new Syria policy. The president first objected to it being called a new policy. "I´m not sure you can characterize this as a new policy. This is consistent with the policy that I´ve had throughout," he said. Obama then explained the goal is regional stability, and especially in Syria. "Really, what we´re trying to do is take sides against extremists of all sorts and in favor of people who are in favor of moderation, tolerance, representative government, and over the long-term, stability and prosperity for the people of Syria," said Obama.

Marco Rubio. Paul Ryan. The IRS. Illegal immigration. And fraud to the tune of billions.. Now there’s a combustible mix. Let’s start with the IRS, illegal immigration and fraud. We’ll come back in a minute to Senator Rubio and Congressman Ryan. For those who came in late, a year before the IRS scandals burst onto the scene in early May of 2013, an alert investigative reporter for WTHR-Indianapolis (Channel 13), Bob Segall by name, produced a stunning piece of journalism. Segall’s video report is found here and we will quote from his story for the basics.
