Why is Obama
Forcing Democratic Fight
Over Gun Control?

The gun control debate is good for Republicans, good for the White House, and good for Democratic presidential hopefuls, since they can all play to their respective bases. But the biggest losers of the fight will probably be Harry Reid and the handful of Democratic senators up for reelection in red-leaning states. The Hill reports: Reid’s job is to help move President Obama’s agenda through the upper chamber, but he must also protect his five-seat Senate majority, and gun-rights groups are threatening to go after vulnerable Senate Democrats

I´m not buying the bit about the country being evenly split on gun control, and yes, a lot of people will base their vote on this issue alone. Without our second amendment rights, what rights do we have?

They only poll libs, out here in the high uncut, we are well armed and really don´t trust anyone anymore. And I think those dummies in Washington know it. That is why they are a little tentative about crossing the line.

#3 I was born on 3/17, like your username, also your ´don´t trust anyone´. My wife asked why 1,000 rounds was my minimum stock, I told her you can´t trust anyone. The ammo tax here is $0.10 per box, the Fed may go this route and raise it to a Brazillion, I trust nobody when it comes to guns.

Ooops, I trust nobody in government when it comes to guns...I have trusted everyone I have ever bought a gun from....due to the fact that I now have a gun due to them...gun sellers are an honest group due to the nature of the product they sell :}

obama did not help anyone in the last election. He certainly does not need them now.

Yes, zip has no loyalties. Once a useful idiots purpose runs out, he/she is put out with the trash. On a small scale those pip squeak campaign workers learned this week they were cut out of inaugeral events. I almost felt sorry for them because they are gullible enough to believe and probably still do that obamas cared about them. When stinky talks about political capital it´s not his at risk. But morons like al franken could be hung out to dry by obama, lose his political career and still blame "radical right" and NRA for his plight.

Reply 10 - Posted by: Spidey, 1/18/2013 4:29:26 AM     (No. 9123535)

Obama ran into a similar problem with Obamacare and the senate dems went along with it.Nobody is going to stand up to an Obama henchman because they are very inventive at making your life hell. They can promise you millions of campaign dollars also, so the idea behind this story isn´t even worth discussing.

On the other hand, this could be part of the plan for Obama to go crazy with more executive "actions". This would give cover to the senate dems up for re-election.

"These actions are necessary because I can´t get anything through the special interests in congress, who are blocking the way to children´s safety.

You know,if a two bit newspaper can assemble a map of gun owners, think how simple it would be if the government established a national database on gun owners. And just for good measure they could attach your voter registration to it so no gun owning dems get caught in the crossfire.

Even though public records are public records, people still expect some measure of privacy. Forget that we´re all fascists now.

These groups should go after Senate demonrats anyway. They´re liars and if they weren´t up for reelection they would be in lockstep with Barry.

Why is he forcing this fight over gun control? Perhaps to divert attention from the fact that he has bankrupted our nation.

Obama has been sitting on these measures, waiting on a crisis for 4 years. The democrats have been sitting on these measures for several decades, waiting on the right time to bring them forward. With the amount of caving Boehner and McConnell have done over the past several years, most democrats believe this is the time to bring their anti-gun plan forth.

Øbama wants to provoke a confrontation to justify state control.

It´s in his blood, the community agitator.

It´s nothing about organizing until you agitate the folks to get them motivated...it´s about selling hate and divisiveness, it´s about division of our great country into warring factions, it´s about absolute power and cronyism to pay off your sycophants...get the picture!

I´m surprised he hasn´t started emulating Hitler in his rabid speeches...but he´s close.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Backed by throngs of chanting supporters, dozens of liberal demonstrators are subjecting themselves to arrest each Monday at the state legislature here to protest a flurry of bills that could transform North Carolina into a model of conservative governance. The state’s hard turn to the right comes less than five years after people took to the streets here to celebrate the 2008 victory of Barack Obama, the first Democratic presidential candidate to capture the state since Jimmy Carter in 1976. The win prompted Obama’s supporters to crow about the growing influence of progressive

BEIRUT — The leader of the Lebanese Shiite militant group Hezbollah on Saturday defiantly defended sending his fighters to support President Bashar al-Assad’s army in neighboring Syria and proclaimed that they would be victorious. Hasan Nasrallah’s televised address provided the clearest public acknowledgment to date that his men are fighting alongside Assad’s troops and will continue to do so. As he spoke, Hezbollah and government forces were escalating an assault on the strategically important Syrian town of Qusair. A staunch ally of Iran as well as Assad, Hezbollah has deepened its involvement in Syria’s two-year-old civil war in recent weeks

UPDATE: Perry responds to SB 346 veto: “Freedom of association and freedom of speech are two of our most important rights enshrined in the Constitution. My fear is that SB 346 would have a chilling effect on both of those rights in our democratic political process. While regulation is necessary in the administration of Texas political finance laws, no regulation is tolerable that puts anyone’s participation at risk or that can be used by any government, organization or individual to intimidate those who choose to participate in our process through financial means. The latest reporting in the matter of Fox News Channel’s James Rosen indicates the Obama administration fought to keep the search warrant for Rosen’s private email account secret, arguing that the government might need to monitor the account for a lengthy period of time. Thank you, Ryan Lizza. And one more thing. Despite Eric Holder’s his protestations of ignorance regarding the Rosen matter, NBC reports that Holder himself authorized the warrant application. Hmmm. Does that mean he might not have been entirely forthcoming about the matter in his testimony

He was 81. The Washington Post reported he died at Suburban Hospital in Bethesda, Md. In a statement to the Post newsroom, Managing Editor Kevin Merida said Johnson died of a heart attack. Johnson was awarded a Pulitzer in 1966 for national reporting on the civil rights struggle in Selma, Ala., while with The Evening Star in Washington. He spent

The FBI has arrested a San Antonio man on charges he lied to get into the United States and tried to get a sensitive Defense Department position. Wissam Allouche, 44, appeared for an initial hearing Friday afternoon, and shook his head when U.S. Magistrate Judge Henry Bemporad read the charges leveled in a federal indictment. The judge ordered him held pending a bail hearing and his arraignment Tuesday. “He allegedly tried to cover up his affiliation with Hezbollah,” said special agent Erik Vasys, spokesman for the FBI in San Antonio. “It is believed

The press must have
the ability to ask questions
Washington Post, by Editorial    Original Article

A FREE press in a democracy demands a delicate balance. The First Amendment means the media must have the right to inquire without hindrance. The government has a legitimate interest in keeping some national security information secret. When these come into conflict, the balance often has been struck this way: The media are free to pursue secrets, but it is up to those in government to keep them. When the media come into possession of information that, if disclosed, could be damaging, the government can plead the case for secrecy — and the media generally are open to persuasion.

Washington rumor has it that Obama wants to be U.N. Secretary General. There are several reasons that make that likely, and if it´s true, it throws new light on a lot of Obama´s oddities -- including his Royalty Bows, his Apology Tours, his Muslim Sellout, and the Benghazi Cover-Up. But first -- why would Obama be planning to become the chief of the U.N. before he has even finished his second term?

On Wednesday, Drummer Lee Rigby of the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers, a man who had served Queen and country honorably in the hell of Helmand Province in Afghanistan, emerged from his barracks on Wellington Street, named after the Duke thereof, in southeast London. Minutes later, he was hacked to death in broad daylight and in full view of onlookers by two men with machetes who crowed "Allahu Akbar!" as they dumped his carcass in the middle of the street like so much roadkill. As grotesque as this act of savagery was, the aftermath was even more unsettling

MARK LEVIN: So why didn´t Chairman Issa hold an investigative hearing a year ago? Why didn´t Chairman Camp, all Republicans, hold an investigative hearing a year ago, and all the other tripping over themselves right now? I´ll tell you why. Because the establishment Republicans, the RINO Republicans, despise the Tea Party. They despise the conservative movement. We exist to be managed, to be shuttled to the polling place, to vote for their candidates. The Karl Roves of the world, and all the rest of them. They fight us in the primaries, they fight us at the grassroots.

WASHINGTON —In a dramatic departure from existing White House procedures, President Obama requested today that his staff start cc’ing him on stuff. “Look, I know a lot of you think I’m really busy and you don’t want to bother me,” the President reportedly told his staff in an Oval Office meeting. “But cc me anyway. It’s good for me to keep up on what’s going on around here.” “It’s not good when I turn on the news and they’re talking about something at the White House and I’m like, whoa, when did that happen?”

Abuse Of Power: Any scandal investigation that expects a "Eureka!" moment, a White House e-mail, or Oval Office smoking gun will be misguided. In fact, the dots are already connected directly to the president. Barack Obama is not foolish enough to have a tape recording system hidden in his desk. And his administration staff are not careless enough to send one another incriminating e-mails. If the president was behind the IRS unlawfully harassing conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status, we can be sure the communications were all sotto voce and in persona, like any good Chicago political operator.

The portion of Interstate 5 in Washington that runs over the Skagit River collapsed on Thursday after a truck hit an overhead support structure, but Rep.
