| Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer, a vocal opponent of President Obama´s healthcare reform law, surprised her state this week by announcing that she would embrace a key component of the law. (Snip) A skeptic of Obama´s Affordable Care Act, Brewer announced her decision in her State of the State address Monday. If she didn´t accept the Medicaid money for Arizona, she said, other states would claim those federal funds. I guess our GOP glass-ceiling is beginning to crack. Take note, Tea Party. Same excuse. If I don´t take the funds, the other states will spend it, anyway. Not the way to hold our Federal budget line.

I hate to break it to those who don´t live in AZ, Jan Brewer has never been a fiscal conservative. When she took over from Janet her first instinct was to raise taxes. When the Republicans wouldn´t go along she tried to make deals with Democrats. Higher taxes for more spending. She took every stimulus dollar she could get her hands on. When she announced for election in 2010 it was treated as a joke. Then SB 1070. Janet signed, snubbed Obama, the rest is history. She´s in over her head.

You´re already dead when you buy the argument that if I don´t eat the poisoned apple, some other state will. You now need to play by the White House rules, pay doctors what the White House prescribes and give up any thoughts of new strategies to control cost (like contracting to provide care for an individual for the year and sharing the savings over fee-for-service). Every year the costs go up and every year the federal share goes down. You just passed the mess to the next governor.

You have to be tough and just say no. Yeah some other state might get the funds. But that sucker state will also be under the thug´s thumb.
We need to take the long hard hit, feel that pain and only then come out the other side free of liberalism, welfare, dependency, and become vibrant capitalist states again.

She employs the same reasoning on tax money that Ron Paul always has. Big reason why I never cared for him.
My mom gave me some advice when I was a kid. She said ´jumping out of the tree just because the other kids do it is just stupid.´ Shame she has jumped the shark.

“He was not radical at all,” Taramov told WESH-TV. He added that the FBI had been tracking Todashev since the Boston bombings. At some point, Todashev moved to Florida. He was arrested for aggravated battery this month, according to police records, after getting into a fight with a man in a parking lot. When the FBI agent and others arrived at his apartment early Wednesday, the law enforcement officials said Todashev initially was cooperative. They said he appeared on the verge of signing a confession to the killings of three people in Waltham in September 2011.

Jerusalem - Israel´s air force chief says his troops need to be ready to act quickly in case of an attack from Syria. The remarks by Maj. Gen. Amir Eshel Wednesday echo statements by Israel´s military chief of staff a day earlier. Eshel warned escalation could lead to a "surprise war." He said Russian S-300 air defense systems are "on their way" to Syria, though Israel asked Russia not to supply them. Israel is concerned the Syrian civil war could spill across its border. Dubai - Iranian authorities executed two men on Sunday convicted of working for Israeli and U.S. spy agencies, Iran’s Fars news agency reported. Mohammad Heidari, accused of passing security-related in formation and secrets to Israeli Mossad agents in exchange for money, and Kourosh Ahmadi, accused of gathering information for the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency, were hanged at dawn, it said. The sentence for their execution was handed down by Tehran’s Revolutionary Court and confirmed by the country’s Supreme Court. The report did not say when the pair were arrested nor when their trial took place.

One of two men allegedly being questioned in connection with the Boston Marathon bombings was shot and killed by an FBI agent in Florida on Tuesday, (Snip)A friend of Ibragim Todashev said he and Todashev were being investigated as part of the Boston bombings. He said Todashev, 27, knew bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev because both were MMA fighters. The man claims he and Todashev were interviewed by the FBI for nearly three hours on Tuesday. The friend said he left the interview, and when he came back to the apartment he found that there had been a shooting.

WASHINGTON – A top IRS official in the division that reviews nonprofit groups will invoke the Fifth Amendment and refuse to answer questions before a House committee investigating the agency’s improper screening of conservative nonprofit groups. Lois Lerner, the head of the exempt organizations division of the IRS, won’t answer questions about what she knew about the improper screening – or why she didn’t reveal it to Congress, according to a letter from her defense lawyer, William W. Taylor 3rd. Lerner was scheduled to appear before the House Oversight committee Wednesday.
