| Russ Millette was elected chairman of the Alaska Republican Party in April when a group of Ron Paul supporters, tea party backers, and anti-establishment delegates showed up at the state party´s convention in large numbers. In Alaska, the Republican Party chairman is elected in an even numbered year and begins his term at the beginning of the next year. Outgoing chairman Randy Ruedrich supported Lisa Murkowski, the incumbent Senator who lost the 2012 Republican primary to tea party backed Joe Miller, only to defeat him as a write-in candidate in the general election.

Same situation in Florida. State GOP promoted Christ for senate. Tried to torpedo Rubio. Rubio won, Christ is now a democrat. The wizards of smart never learn. I don´t trust the rinos.

Yet more evidence that the GOP establishment is still the "enemy" of conservatives. It´s time to walk away and form a party of our own. 2014 looks lost regardless, and we need to start building a new organization ASAP.

The problem with the GOP is NOT the platform, NOR IS IT that we are not extreme enough. The problem is branding. Where are the young, ethnically diverse, culturally literate, GOP candidates? There is also a trust issue due to the Afghanistan and Iraq excursions. More kooks like Akin, Mourdock, Buck, Angle and O´Donnell aren´t going to do anyone a favor. These people are viewed by moderates similar to how we view people like Howard Dean and Dennis Kuchinich.

#4, I see your point about some pubbies but perhaps you could manage an exposition on how S.J.Lee and the rest of the maniacs in the all-Libtard-all-the-time party manage to do just fine while believing a flag is planted on Mars, Guam is in danger of tipping over, sending unsolicited tweets of their underpants to young women, hiring illegal alien molesters to work on their campaign, hiding all their school records, publishing patently fake birth certificates, etc, etc, etc... ?

New York - Police say a gunman used anti-gay slurs before fatally shooting a 32-year-old man in New York City´s Greenwich (GREN´-ich) Village. Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly said Saturday that the shooting, which occurred just after midnight, appears to have been a hate crime. Kelly says the gunman was seen urinating on the street outside a bar. Treasury Secretary Jack Lew on Friday urged congressional leaders to raise the debt limit and insisted that the White House is not going to negotiate over the increase because lawmakers have "no choice." "We will not negotiate over the debt limit," Lew wrote. "The creditworthiness of the United States is non-negotiable. The question of whether the country must pay obligations it has already incurred is not open to debate." Lew said that while President Obama is willing to discuss plans to reduce the nation´s deficit with Congress, those talks must be kept separate from any effort to raise the nation´s debt cap.

House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) formally demanded that retired ambassador Thomas Pickering submit to being deposed by the committee next Thursday. The subpoena comes in the wake of a series of acrimonious public exchanges this week between the two men. A healthcare provider has sued the Internal Revenue Service and 15 of its agents, charging they wrongfully seized 60 million medical records from 10 million Americans. The name of the provider is not yet known, United Press International said. But Courthouse News Service said the suit claims the agency violated the Fourth Amendment in 2011, when agents executed a search warrant for financial data on one employee – and that led to the seizure of information on 10 million, including state judges. The search warrant did not specify that the IRS could take medical information, UPI said.
