Once again, speculation presented as fact. The article she used as justification of the evils of the players was nothing more than speculation. A woman claiming she was raped isn´t always the facts. And the reason for the suicide was never made public so we don´t know it was because she was raped by a football player. Same with the other case. We witnessed the mass witch hunt in the Duke case. Might want to wait till all the facts are in before rendering a decision on ND football. ND football may well be out of control. But then again, it may not. We don´t know anything more one way or the other because of this woman´s opinion without all the facts presented.

#4 and #5, I have a personal connection to this story. This is not speculation. What Notre Dame did to these young women, and how they continue to protect these players (the attacker has a known history of violence and did prior to his recruitment) is simply disgusting. I´m a devout catholic and was taught in catholic school to worship Notre Dame. ND is a disgrace and fans and alum should all be embarrassed and outraged by this. To paraphrase Lizzy Seeberg´s roommate in a recent Washington Post article-- God is not on Notre Dame´s side, how could He be?

I cant believe the Te´0 story led the news. It is funny, that is all. It is not a cheating, steroid or even a gambling story. He gained some support to try to get the Liesman Trophy. I enjoy th ecomedic value, that is it.

We live in a country that officially condemns rape and sexual assault but when confronted with the real possibility of it, rarely strays from denial and excuses.

The conduct towards Ms. Seeberg by Notre Dame and the players very expensive Chicago attorney (I wonder how he afforded him) was repugnant. Regardless of who´s right or wrong. Notre Dame must have learned from the Kennedy´s.

I have read Melinda Henneberger´s articles regarding the Seeberg case, and I am a little confused about what happened. The term "sexual assault" has been used in every article I´ve read, and there is no doubt that she was harassed and threatened by team members, but I don´t believe it has ever been claimed that she was raped. Unwanted advances, maybe. Groped, yes. But there is a big difference between something like that and being raped.
