| Foreclosure activity fell 3 percent on a national level last year from 2011 but higher foreclosures in half of the states, including Illinois, showed the uneven pace of the housing recovery. Homeowners, including those in the Chicago area, did get some good news in a second report issued Thursday that showed fewer homeowners were underwater on their mortgages. Nationwide, foreclosure notices were filed against 1.84 million properties last year, a sizable decline from 2010, the peak year, when foreclosures affected 2.9 million properties, according to a year-end RealtyTrac report issued Thursday.

A liberal utopia at it´s finest.
Why don´t Republicans sieze on these failures and shove them into Libs faces when he talks about how bad they are...
Nothing tells a true story like success or FAILURE!!!!!!!

And Chicago is the murder capital of the US. Hey that´s where zero lives. Ever hear of cause and effect.
That brings to mind this fact: Cause: America elected a negroid, Muslim, America hater, socialist, anti-capitalist, wealth redistributor, Constitution destroyer, social divider, and down right nasty, mean person.
Effect: America has gone down the tubes, financially, culturally, racially and foreign countries laugh and ridicule our pathetic leader.

1. There are many parts, many sides to this, but Dodd-Frank and the CRA are a big, big part of it. And people warned long ago what problems they would cause.
2. Such articles always overlook a major part of this -- the enormous loss of value [wealth; equity; whatever] these policies caused.
3. What? Nevada [Harry Reid´s Nevada] isn´t Number One anymore? But I guess that´s because every home in the state´s been foreclosed....
The joys of Leftist "social engineering!"
Had enough?

When is any politico of either party going to state the obvious? Obvious that no business wants to open on Martin Luther King Blvd - anywhere, nor Chicago, IL? Why start a business there? Hop over to Indiana or hop up to Wisconsin. Word to the wise, never stop for gas on MLK anywhere!

Part of the credit for these foreclosures goes to President Obama. Years of hard work as a community organizer forcing banks to make bad loans laid the foundation. And think how many of the current foreclosures are for the second time with the same owners bailed out his rescue in the last 2 years.

Having lived in Illinois for the last 26 years, it is obvious that nothing, no nothing will dislodge Democratic Party control short of The City of Chicago sliding into Lake Michigan. The corruption is so pervasive that any kind of change or reform is possible. This really is what happens when you have absolute one party control for decades. The State Legislature is the only place where we have any kind of chance to prevent Chicago from stealing all of our money and all of our rights. That is because Cook County cannot control the election results in the rest of the state, but it can insure that elections like governor, senator, etc which are state-wide are controlled by Cook County.

Appearing on MSNBC´s Andrea Mitchell Reports on Wednesday, NBC´s chief White House correspondent Chuck Todd came up with a long list of excuses for President Obama´s poor speech performance in Berlin: "I want to give you a little context here....there was an attempt to shrink the crowd size....Maybe they would have gotten 25, 30, 40,000 people....President Obama feeds off a crowd very well." [Listen to the audio or watch the video after the jump] Todd then grasped at other reasons for the lackluster event: "...you had that very distracting glass and you could just see that the President

Another Republican Super PAC is jumping into the increasingly nasty Massachusetts Senate battle, going after Democrat Ed Markey’s biggest weakness — his $1.3 million Maryland home. The America Rising PAC, recently founded by Mitt Romney’s former presidential campaign manager, is planning to deliver a letter today to Maryland’s comptroller urging the state to investigate why Markey has never paid state income taxes there despite living in the upscale Chevy Chase suburb for two decades, the Herald has learned. Markey’s residency status has been dogging him throughout his career, ever since the Herald reported in the early 1990s

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) on Wednesday said Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid was “starting to get nervous” about passing immigration reform, suggesting that opponents of the bill were gaining momentum. "I certainly wouldn´t presume to speak for Harry Reid, but I think he´s starting to get nervous," Cruz said in an interview with conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh. The Senate this week is debating the Gang of Eight’s bipartisan immigration reform proposal. Reid (D-Nev.) is hoping to pass the measure before the July recess. Cruz suggested that Reid hoped to move the bill quickly to avoid scrutiny

Los Angeles County coroner´s officials said Wednesday the body recovered from a fiery, single-car crash in Hollywood that apparently killed journalist Michael Hastings will likely undergo an autopsy Thursday. But an official cause of death and closure of the case is not likely for four to six weeks or perhaps longer, they said. Coroner´s officials are hoping the results will answer why the accident happened. Officials were attempting to match dental records to help make a positive identification. The death of the 33-year-old Hastings was announced Tuesday by his employer, BuzzFeed,

Meet the Women for Weiner. The former congressman, who apologized for the lewd picture scandal that ended his House career before launching a bid last month for New York City mayor, is holding a fundraiser hosted by “Women for Anthony” next week at the Manhattan home of an education activist and philanthropist. The host committee is led by his wife, Huma Abedin, and includes her sister, Heba; Rory Tahari, wife of designer Elie Tahari; and Cheryl Saban, the wife of California-based mega-donor Haim Saban, who funded a short film lauding Hillary Clinton’s tenure at the State Department

Likening religious schools to segregation--a racist system that forced blacks to attend different schools and use different facilities than whites in the American South--President Barack Obama told a town hall meeting for youth in Belfast, Northern Ireland on Monday that there should not be Catholic and Protestant schools because such schools cause division. "Because issues like segregated schools and housing, lack of jobs and opportunity--symbols of history that are a source of pride for some and pain for others--these are not tangential to peace; they’re essential to it,"

A group of whistleblowers, including a number of aviation experts, have come forward in a new documentary to claim that the official explanation for the crash of TWA Flight 800 was wrong and a gas tank explosion did not bring down the flight off the coast of Long Island 17 years ago. However, the six whistleblowers, all part of the original investigation team, stopped short of saying the plane was shot down. Flight 800, a Boeing 747, had just taken off from JFK airport with 230 people aboard on July 17, 1996 enroute to Paris when it exploded

An attorney whose firm represents two Benghazi whistleblowers said Gen. Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, lied to the Senate when he said there was never a “stand down” order during the Benghazi attack on Sept. 11, 2012. “What was fascinating is that he explained his lie to them,” Joe DiGenova, an attorney representing one of the whistleblowers, told CNSNews.com. “He actually said they were sent to Tripoli. They were needed in Benghazi,” said DiGenova, a former U.S. attorney, now with the Washington firm of DiGenova & Toensing.

Amid a steady rise of backlash, Edward Snowden, the 29-year-old former National Security Agency contractor who was the source of a spring of leaks about the agency´s surveillance methods, conducted a live chat on The Guardian´s website Monday morning. Judging from some of the pointed questions he´s been asked and the reaction to newly leaked revelations over the past few days, it´s clear that much of the sympathy and support Snowden had built up for his early exposures is eroding. Many Americans supported his decision to leak information about a pair of National Security Agency surveillance programs, which, he detailed, gathered information

Listening to Barack Obama give his speech in Belfast on Monday, it was hard not to stifle a yawn. I kept waiting for the part when he would say something interesting, but, about three quarters of the way through, realised it wasn’t going to come. Judging from television pictures some of his young audience felt the same, after the initial rush of euphoria of receiving the rock star president in their midst had passed. This is not surprising, for we had already heard this number about the inspirational role of the Northern Ireland peace process and the Emerald Isle’s

This is the thirtieth anniversary of the publication of How Democracies Perish, an analysis of the spread of world communism by Jean-François Revel, one of freedom´s most serious French defenders since Tocqueville. At the heart of this work, Revel details "The Tools of Communist Expansion," among which the most relevant for understanding our current situation comes in Chapter 16, "Ideological Warfare and Disinformation." The profound simplicity of Revel´s nuts and bolts account of totalitarianism´s Cold War advance, far from being obsolete

Celebrity chef Paula Deen admitted in a recorded deposition to telling racist jokes, using the N-word, and planning a slavery-themed wedding, according to multiple reports. The May 17 deposition where she made the alleged admissions is part of a $1.2 million lawsuit brought by Lisa Jackson, the former manager of a Savannah, Georgia, restaurant run by Deen and her brother Bubba Hiers. Jackson alleges in the suit that Deen used the N-word at the restaurant and that Hiers sexually harassed her. According to the reports, in the deposition, Deen replied “Yes, of course,”
