| At this point, it’s entirely possible that no one wants Solyndra’s solar modules except political junkies and clean-tech geeks. But an electronics dealership in Santa Clara will happily sell you one for $9.50. HSC Electronic Supply scooped up a few hundred of the unique, tube-shaped modules that were left at Solyndra’s Fremont HQ after the company plunged into bankruptcy in 2011. HSC announced their availability Wednesday. Solyndra’s collapse, after the company received $528 million in federal loans to build its factory, touched off a political firestorm and turned into a public relations disaster that the solar industry is still struggling

While the article implies they were purchased, the most specific reference to their obtaining them continues to be the word "Scooped".
If that is true, and they were not purchased but taken out of the garbage, isn´t that malfeasance of public funds?
The company has a fiduciary responsibility-one that survives the Bankruptcy- to protect creditors.
But, this IS Uhhhhbama´s America so why am I surprised??

HSC is a hardware hacker´s paradise. I´m sure some intelligent person could build some advanced weaponry out of the junk they have there. Always interesting to browse that place.

HSC is the graveyard of most high-tech failures, but without HSC surplus devices at great prices there would be no new garage startup companies in Silicon Valley.

The lawmaker leading the charge to investigate the Benghazi terror attack on Friday subpoenaed the co-author of a report that slammed the State Department but didn´t interview Hillary Clinton. House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) formally demanded that retired ambassador Thomas Pickering submit to being deposed by the committee next Thursday. The subpoena comes in the wake of a series of acrimonious public exchanges this week between the two men. Issa didn´t issue a subpoena to former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Michael Mullen, who co-authored the Benghazi report with Pickering.

Treasury Secretary Jack Lew on Friday urged congressional leaders to raise the debt limit and insisted that the White House is not going to negotiate over the increase because lawmakers have "no choice." "We will not negotiate over the debt limit," Lew wrote. "The creditworthiness of the United States is non-negotiable. The question of whether the country must pay obligations it has already incurred is not open to debate." Lew said that while President Obama is willing to discuss plans to reduce the nation´s deficit with Congress, those talks must be kept separate from any effort to raise the nation´s debt cap.
