Tom Brokaw Compares Silence

Speaking Out Against
Segregation In 1960s

Appearing on MSNBC’s Morning Joe today, NBC’s veteran newsman Tom Brokaw called for a “holistic” approach to addressing gun violence, and said that remaining silent on the issue is akin to not speaking out during racial segregation in pre-civil rights America. (Snip)“It reminds me a lot of what happened in the South in the 1960s during the civil rights movement,” Brokaw explained. “Good people stayed in their houses and didn’t speak up when there was carnage in the streets and the total violation of a fundamental rights of African-Americans as they marched in Selma, and they let

We are not silent on gun violence! We have never been silent on gun violence! It it because of gun violence that residents of the city of Chicago sued the city over their right to possess guns.

Brokaw is a liar.

The silence is deafening with regard to the five hundred black youngsters murdered in Chicago.

What say you, Brokaw???

Is it not time to put the question before the liberals in the federal government? That question is, "How many Americans are you willing to kill in order to implement your vision of gun control?"

Um, Tommy, who was it exactly that stood in the way of the civil rights act? Who was it exactly that was firehosing people in the street? Who was it exactly that was setting fire to black churches? Admit that it was democrats and clean up your own house first. Start with the welfare dependency you created which is causing all of the inner city black deaths and then maybe we´ll listen to what you have to say. Or not.

He might want to see where Condi Rice speaks about her dad sitting on the porch with a shotgun to prevent the racists from attacking.

Or learn about why the 14th Amendment was passed to ensure that freedmen had access to weapons.

Someone needs to ask Tom Blowchow who exactly has prevented him from doing stories on the gun violence that´s happened every day in Chicago and New York and Detroit and Philidelphia and LA and etc, etc. for the last few decades!!!
The silence is on the part of Party hacks and knee-pad urinalists like Blowchow who won´t tell you that the problem in in democrat strongholds. Urinalists like Blowchow who will gladly pee on yer head and tell you it´s just raining.

So Tom tell us about the mass murder obama is responsible and wanted! in Mexico with those thousands of weapons he had sold to the drug cartels.

Tom: " crickets "

Who´s being silent?

"I am 100% against gun violence!"

There I said it. Or in this case, typed it.

What he really is trying to do is equate those who don´t agree with his liberal point of view (e.g., further errosion of the 2nd amendment) with racists and klan members.

Take a hike, brokejaw.

Brokaw´s been part of a decades-long practice among the MSM to report every incident of gun violence they can scrape up, no matter how vague the details are, no matter how far away it might have occurred. (And to ignore every incident where someone lawfully exercising his/her Second Amendment rights prevented a violent crime from taking place.)

They never seem to note that a foreigner who commits a violent act here is an illegal immigrant, and they never seem to note that gun violence involved illegal guns. So gun ownership, itself, is at the root of all violence, all gun owners are threats to law-abiding citizens, and there is no moral distinction between legal or illegal...

Brokaw´s been a leader in this Leftwing propaganda machine for years. No surprise to find this latest excremental reflection by him.

This is pure propaganda and BS. Alot of the earliest gun control laws were expressly designed to keep blacks from ownin guns to fight back against the KKK. And if I was a black man confronted by a gang of sheet heads intent on my lynching I sure as heck would want more than a 10 round magazine!

Don´t know where you were back then Tom, but nobody was silent. Intergregation said my six year old had to get on a bus, travel from a surburban area across town to a ghetto to keep the gov happy. Needless to say, I had to pay for private school.

DAMASCUS, Va - At least 50 people were injured Saturday after a car struck a crowd of hikers in the Appalachian Trail Days parade in Damascus. A Virginia State Police reconstruction team has closed off the bridge where the incident happened and is investigating it as a crime scene. According to authorities, a green Cadillac was traveling on Route 91 in Damascus around 2:15 p.m. when his vehicle cut through a nearby car wash located off Third Street, where the parade was taking place. The car then went around several vehicles in the parade and plowed

A man named Marcus Dixon had just told him about the center´s key role in helping him learn to provide for his family after being released from jail. WASHINGTON There´s an irony in the Internal Revenue Service´s crackdown on conservative groups. The nation´s tax agency has admitted to inappropriately scrutinizing smaller tea party organizations that applied for tax-exempt status. But the IRS largely maintained a hands-off policy with the much larger, big-budget organizations on the left and right that were most influential in the 2012 elections and are organized under a section of the tax code that allows them to hide their donors. "The IRS goes AWOL when wealthy and powerful forces want to break the law in order to hide their

Two Congressmen are asking the Treasury Department if it inappropriately scrutinized conservative-owned businesses the same way it targeted Tea Party groups filing for tax-exempt status. Republicans Mike Kelly (PA-03) and Jim Renacci (OH-16) circulated a letter Thursday requesting Treasury Secretary Jack Lew to release documents detailing the process and methodology the Automotive Task Force used to shut down General Motors dealerships in 2009 during the automotive industry crisis. Renacci´s Northeast Ohio Chevrolet dealership was closed in 2010 after losing a battle with General Motors. Congress loaned General Motors $50 billion in 2009 after GM declared bankruptcy, which resulted

SAN JOSE— For most Americans in the United States, Armed Forces Day is not on the lists of likely holidays to honor the country’s military in celebrations of Memorial Day or Veteran’s Day. Sadly, most Americans may not even realize that Armed Forces Day is even a legitimate holiday. Armed Forces Day was established to be celebrated on the third Saturday in May. It started during Harry Truman’s administration when he led an effort to consolidate the various holidays supporting each separate branch of the military into a simple unified holiday to honor the four branches together.

Dorothy, the 14-year-old peregrine falcon that since 2002 has nested on a 40th-floor ledge of the Cathedral of Learning in Oakland, was perched on the limestone railing next to that nest and her lone chick shortly before 9 a.m. Friday. She´d just fed the 22-day-old chick a small bird for breakfast. "Baltimore oriole ... again," said Kate St. John, who blogs about the city´s peregrines. Someone else watching from the office inside the window next to the nest said it looked like Dorothy was calmly "chilling." Ms. St. John´s response was that nothing could be further from the truth.

WASHINGTON — An Internal Revenue Service watchdog testified Friday that he told Obama administration officials in June that he was looking into allegations the IRS targeted conservative groups for extra scrutiny when they applied for tax-exempt status. The revelation by Inspector General Russell George came at the first congressional hearing on the IRS misconduct, which has generated a political firestorm since it was disclosed a week ago. George’s testimony represented the first evidence that officials in the Obama administration knew of the allegations as long as a year ago, during the presidential campaign.

Obama administration officials who were in key positions on Sept. 11, 2012, acknowledge that a range of mistakes were made the night of the attacks on the U.S. missions in Benghazi, and in messaging to Congress and the public in the aftermath. The officials spoke to CBS News in a series of interviews and communications under the condition of anonymity so that they could be more frank in their assessments. They do not all agree on the list of mistakes and it's important to note that they universally claim that any errors or missteps did not cost lives and reflect "incompetence rather than malice or cover up.

In the wake of one of the worst abuses of government power in recent history, many are rushing to frame the Internal Revenue Service scandal as simply an attack on conservative activists. That view risks creating a partisan political football and misses a fundamentally scarier abuse that exceeds the scandals of Watergate or any other prior government abuse. The IRS has admitted that since May 2010 it targeted grassroots-conservative organizations that had applied for tax-exempt status, unfairly subjecting them to rigorous scrutiny due to their political leanings. Such groups were told they were required to comply with IRS requests,

STANDING BEFORE reporters Thursday, President Obama declined an invitation to compare the recent scandals weighing down his administration with those that forced President Nixon to resign in 1974. So allow us to do the work for him: There is no comparison. Nixon, in a series of crimes that collectively came to be known as Watergate, directed from the White House and Justice Department a concerted campaign against those he perceived as political enemies, in the process subverting the FBI, the IRS, other government agencies and the electoral process to his nefarious purposes. Mr. Obama has done nothing of the kind.

The lawmaker leading the charge to investigate the Benghazi terror attack on Friday subpoenaed the co-author of a report that slammed the State Department but didn´t interview Hillary Clinton. House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) formally demanded that retired ambassador Thomas Pickering submit to being deposed by the committee next Thursday. The subpoena comes in the wake of a series of acrimonious public exchanges this week between the two men. Issa didn´t issue a subpoena to former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Michael Mullen, who co-authored the Benghazi report with Pickering.
