President Obama´s Cat-Food
Future For Retirees

The Obama Economy: Americans are drawing down their 401(k)s for nonretirement needs in record numbers, just as Social Security goes bust. This portends poverty for millions as the White House fiddles. Cat food, anyone? One out of four U.S. workers with 401(k) retirement savings accounts has been forced to cash them out or borrow from them at high costs just to stay solvent. The Washington Post, citing a report from financial advisory firm HelloWallet, said the withdrawals have drained $70 billion, or an astonishing near-quarter of the total $293 billion, in America´s retirement accounts "undermining already shaky retirement

Comments:
Note also that Obama´s high-inflation policies will diminish what little retirement earnings millions of Americans have coming to them.

And don´t forget that Obsma and the Federal Reserve have kept interest rates at near zero for the last several years in a futile effort to reinflate the housing bubble. CD rates of less than one percent won´t finance even bargain brand cat food.

This is how Zippy will redistribute the wealth of this nation to the Third World; through inflation. He believes Americans have not earned what have, but stole it and we should not of had our wealth in the first place. Therefore, we the American people will be put in our rightful place along with the rest of the Third World nations and Europe and he´ll see to that.

We have a traitor in the White House.

It´s not a conspiracy, rather its an empty ideology combined with economic incompetence of the highest order.

How President Obama was reelected is something I will never understand.

What $1,000,000 would purchase in 1990 would cost $1,694,446 today.

Consider that todays´ government policy of massive money printing will make inflation much worse the next 20 years than the past 20 years.

The combination of hyper-inflation and 1% jumbo CDs will indeed have many of us eating cat food.

One million dollar CD pays about $10,000.

Our small town police chief retired young at $223,000 per year.

You would have to have $22 million dollars in CD to match the chief´s retirement income.

Yegor Borisov, head of the Sakha Republic, a vast and sparsely populated region of eastern Siberia, has called for an urgent cull of wolves after the predators swamped populated areas in a search for food. The local government has announced a three month "battle against wolves" to be launched on January 15. Special task forces will be put together and the hunting season extended all year round in a bid to tackle what the local authorities have described as a "mass migration" of the creatures. The governor has even promised a six-figure cash prize for the hunters who bring back the most skins.

After days of demonstrations, described as "legitimate" by Dilma Rousseff, Brazil´s president, activists filled the streets in more than a dozen cities, including those hosting matches at next year´s football tournament, which is estimated to cost £10 billion. In scenes rarely seen in Brazil since the fall of the dictatorship in 1985, crowds took to the streets, carrying placards reading: "World Cup for Who?" and "We don´t need the World Cup". President Rousseff responded with sympathy for the protesters. "Today, Brazil woke up stronger," she said. "The greatness of yesterday´s demonstrations proved the power of democracy.

As many as 200,000 demonstrators marched through the streets of Brazil´s biggest cities on Monday in a swelling wave of protest tapping into widespread anger at poor public services, police violence and government corruption. The marches, organized mostly through snowballing social media campaigns, blocked streets and halted traffic in more than a half-dozen cities, including Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Belo Horizonte and Brasilia, where demonstrators climbed onto the roof of Brazil´s Congress building and then stormed it. Monday´s demonstrations were the latest in a flurry of protests in the past two weeks that have added

Rubio Doubles Down into Disaster

Stars. They’re not like you! Ryan Lizza’s New Yorker piece on the Gang of 8´s immigration efforts [behind paywall] contains a seemingly inflammatory quote from an unnamed aide to Marco Rubio: “‘There are American workers who, for lack of a better term, can’t cut it,’ a Rubio aide told me. ‘There shouldn’t be a presumption that every American worker is a star performer. There are people who just can’t get it, can’t do it, don’t want to do it. And so you can’t obviously discuss that publicly.’” It’s a bad enough quote that Gang-of-8 cheerleader Jonathan Chait was worried.

U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio´s (R-Fla.) office sparked a bit of a firestorm on Sunday when a quote attributed to one of his aides claimed that immigration reform is necessary because some American workers "just can´t cut it." The aide made the comment to The New Yorker´s Ryan Lizza in an article published early Monday morning, explaining why Rubio sided with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce on the issue of a guest-worker program for the construction industry. “There are American workers who, for lack of a better term, can’t cut it,” the Rubio aide told Lizza.

Elections: Iran-watchers and, for that matter, Iran´s voters, were ecstatic at the surprise election of an apparent moderate to Iran´s presidency Friday. But hold the celebration: Hassan Rowhani still answers to the mullahs. Iran´s voters stunned Tehran´s hard-liners as results of the presidential election showed Rowhani, a supposedly moderate Muslim cleric, winning with 50.71% of the vote with a record 73% turnout. The margin was high enough to avoid a runoff, and was a sweet victory for all the Iranians who were crushed during the Green Revolution of 2009, the protest movement around the last election in Iran

Cruz to introduce voter ID
amendment to counteract
Supreme Court ruling

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) on Monday said he would offer an amendment to the Senate immigration bill to counteract a Supreme Court decision striking down state laws requiring voters to prove their citizenship. Cruz´s amendment, which he plans to attach to the bipartisan Gang of Eight bill being debated this week in the Senate, would allow states to require IDs before voters register under the federal "Motor Vehicle" voter registration law. The high court on Monday overturned an Arizona law requiring people to prove their citizenship if they wanted to register through that law.

Amid a steady rise of backlash, Edward Snowden, the 29-year-old former National Security Agency contractor who was the source of a spring of leaks about the agency´s surveillance methods, conducted a live chat on The Guardian´s website Monday morning. Judging from some of the pointed questions he´s been asked and the reaction to newly leaked revelations over the past few days, it´s clear that much of the sympathy and support Snowden had built up for his early exposures is eroding. Many Americans supported his decision to leak information about a pair of National Security Agency surveillance programs, which, he detailed, gathered information

As NewsBusters reported last week, former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin called out vulgarian comedian Bill Maher for referring to her Down Syndrome son Trig as "retarded." On ABC´s The View Monday, co-host Barbara Walters astonishingly defended Maher saying, "I don´t think he intended it to be mean-spirited" (video follows with transcript and commentary): WHOOPI GOLDBERG: At a recent standup show in Las Vegas, comedian Bill Maher apparently called Sarah Palin’s five-year-old developmentally-challenged son Trig retarded. And Sarah blasted him on Twitter as a bully. Is that, is it, is he a bully? Is he a bad, what is he?

Five months into his second term, allies and enemies are as confounded as ever about who President Obama really is. Is he the dyed-in-the-wool liberal that his biggest supporters and critics suggest? Or is he a pragmatic, even cynical, politician who cares more for his popularity than taking risks for his ideological goals or living up to his rhetoric? Even in the short period since his reelection, Obama has provided evidence to support conflicting interpretations. His efforts to pass immigration reform, the unsuccessful push for stricter gun controls and tax hikes on high earners buttress the case for Obama-as-ideologue.

Jeb Bush says he’s not worried that his work toward comprehensive immigration reform and his ties to the GOP establishment will alienate conservatives and negatively impact a potential 2016 presidential campaign, referring to critics as “the chirpers.” “If I decide to run for office again, it will be based on what I believe, and it will be based on my record,” the former Florida governor said in an interview with the Christian Broadcasting Network’s David Brody. “And that record was one of solving problems completely from a conservative prospective.” Bush (R) pointed to his conservative

Is Marco Rubio, R-Fla., getting played by Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y.? During his interview with ABC’s Jonathan Karl this morning, Rubio didn’t even seem to understand what that meant. “Are you being played by the Democrats?” asked Karl. “Is Chuck Schumer playing you?” “I don’t — I quite frankly, I don’t even know what that means,” Rubio replied. “Is he using you?” Karl continued. “Is he using you to try to accomplish something that the Democrats want and is not — not a conservative bill?” Rubio responded that immigration reform was a bi-partisan issue that “all Americans

Marco Rubio. Paul Ryan. The IRS. Illegal immigration. And fraud to the tune of billions.. Now there’s a combustible mix. Let’s start with the IRS, illegal immigration and fraud. We’ll come back in a minute to Senator Rubio and Congressman Ryan. For those who came in late, a year before the IRS scandals burst onto the scene in early May of 2013, an alert investigative reporter for WTHR-Indianapolis (Channel 13), Bob Segall by name, produced a stunning piece of journalism. Segall’s video report is found here and we will quote from his story for the basics.

It is understood that a contingency plan is in place for the unlikely event that an attempt would be made on the President’s life. The Secret Service also have diplomatic immunity which will allow them to shoot to kill a would-be assassin without fear of prosecution. As part of the “evacuation route” plan, they would be able to spirit the President by chopper to one of the carriers where a jet is on standby to take him back to the United States.
