This news along with what occurred with Hostess and other companies who are going over seas to avoid the extortion by the unions seems to be an omen of perhaps RIP to union-extortion labor. Even if wages are a tad bit lower than union-inflated wages in the short-term...those with non-union affiliation have a direct impact in the success or failure of the company whereas union labor appears to have a death wish.

As more and more companies ignore union demands, more and more companies will be embolden to hire people who are actually skilled on their own merit and earn the wages that they deserve.

Manufacturing can only bounce back if unions are left behind. Unions haven´t served a valid purpose in over 100 years. Their lack of understanding of economics rivals only that of the nitwit in the WH.

All very good, but until the public sector unions are out of business, we´ll be in deep gimshee.

Ha ha ha ha! Too funny! And they blame conservative policymakers! No, Americans are sick of being blackmailed & sick of watching unions get richer as we all are getting poorer.

In Chicago, where teachers make an average of $57k, each district takes turns going on strike for a day or two.. to justify 5% raises while all our incomes shrink. The pols probably orchestrated it, so they aren´t blamed. Talk about out of control!

How about that? Manufacturing businesses finally wised up that allowing a union to burrow into their factory is a death knell for their company.

The country´s biggest enemy is the public service unions. If we are to prosper, they must be eliminated!!!

I can see this writer with his head buried in a pile of tissues while writing this story.At the heart of this is liberal elites thinking people in the private sector are too stupid to put their pants on without a how to instruction booklet.

From a a national standpoint republicans are on the downside right now,but there´s plenty of good things happening in red states across the country.Right to work ,low tax states will be snagging jobs away from high tax,unionized states,starving their treasuries.It never occurs to a leftist that you can´t borrow your way to prosperity.

La.NC,Nebraska,Va. and others are looking to reduce or get rid of income and gas taxes as leftist states like Mass. are planning huge tax increases.

However,even in the reddest states,it´s still an uphill climb to breakaway from the grip the teacher´s unions have on education.Homeschooling is a below the radar way of escaping these brainwashing machines.

I only wish some fat cat republicans would get together to finance expansions of Christian schools so at least some kids are getting a values education.A kid´s heart needs to be saturated with God,not global warming.

One wonders why.

I worked with union members from the northeastern states. They could not understand why a worker in Georgia did a job that paid $10.00 an hour, when the same job in PA paid $25.00 an hour. I explained the cost of living in Georgia was less than half of what it is in the north. Southern workers live quite comfortably on lower wages. The concept was so alien to the yankees, they could not figure it out!
