| A combative new 4½-minute ad from the National Rifle Association has drawn the attention of the White House, which "slammed the NRA as ´cowardly´ " for having, in the New York Daily News´s words, "dragged President Obama´s daughters into the raging debate over gun control by placing them in a controversial commercial": Spokesman Jay Carney said the NRA crossed the line when the group referenced Sasha, 11, and Malia, 14, in a spot calling the commander-in-chief an "elitist hypocrite" because his girls get armed Secret Service protection.

I seem to recall numerous high profile liberals telling us that George Bush was scum to even think of sending troops to Iraq, unless his own daughters were in the front lines.
And as for it being out of bounds to go after politicians´ kids? I despise the media who made "Jenna Bush tries to buy a drink" into a major scandal, but the arrest records of the sons of Al Gore and Howard Dean are "private family business".

Using a crisis...check.
Illegal use of executive orders..check.
Wild and irrational claims...check.

Just as corrupt as Assad, Hussein (the one in Iraq), Ahadaminejad, Kim (whichever), Hitler, Stalin, Mao Zhe Dong, or any other Dictator in history.

No one can deny that Barack Obama is a highly skilled politician, at least by the measure of election outcomes. His record is undefeated, save for an ill-advised 2000 primary challenge to an entrenched incumbent congressman. His 2008 presidential victory, after a fraction of a term in the U.S. Senate, was especially dazzling. It disproved those who said that Hillary Clinton was invincible, that a left-wing Democrat couldn´t win, and that America wasn´t ready for a black president. No one can deny that Lance Armstrong and Mark McGwire were highly skilled athletes.

Last week Bob Woodward had this to say in a CNN interview: "I think if Barack Obama knew that was part of the communication´s strategy--let´s hope it´s not a strategy, that it´s a tactic that somebody´s employed--and said, look, we don´t go around trying to say to reporters, ´If you, in an honest way, present something we don´t like, that, you know, you´re going to regret this.´ And just--it´s Mickey Mouse." Mitt Romney missed a golden opportunity during last night's debate. "The 1980s are now calling to ask for their foreign policy back," Barack Obama said. The perfect comeback would have been: "Oh yeah? Well, the ocean called, and they're running outta ships!" True, Romney delivered a version of this zinger, but much later. His timing was all wrong. Oh well, maybe Romney can arrange another meeting with the president and get it right this time. We understand Obama will be in Ohio.

WASHINGTON - There were new questions Saturday night concerning if anyone in the White House was aware of the IRS´ targeting of conservative groups. Inspector General Russell George said he informed a deputy at the Treasury Department in June of 2012 about the probe into the IRS. The Treasury Department confirmed the timeline but said they did not know the details of the investigation until last week.(Snip)Marcus Owens ran the tax-exempt division at the IRS for 10 years. He said it isn´t difficult to figure out who´s doing what at the agency.

It began in earnest last Friday. A flash mob of latte drinking, tofu eating media that has done its best to quell, rather than fan the flames of truth, turned on one of their own. Jay Carney lay bludgeoned at the base of the podium, a victim of friendly fire. Treasury Secretary Jack Lew on Friday urged congressional leaders to raise the debt limit and insisted that the White House is not going to negotiate over the increase because lawmakers have "no choice." "We will not negotiate over the debt limit," Lew wrote. "The creditworthiness of the United States is non-negotiable. The question of whether the country must pay obligations it has already incurred is not open to debate." Lew said that while President Obama is willing to discuss plans to reduce the nation´s deficit with Congress, those talks must be kept separate from any effort to raise the nation´s debt cap.
