Washington - The White House says a National Rifle Association video that makes reference to President Barack Obama´s daughters is "repugnant and cowardly." Obama spokesman Jay Carney says most Americans agree that a president´s children should not be used as "pawns in a political fight." Carney was referring to an online video from the pro-gun lobby that calls Obama an "elitist hypocrite" for having armed Secret Service agents protect his daughters at school while voicing skepticism about installing armed guards in all schools. The NRA released the video ahead of Obama's

And this President is a coward and a bully. Some day, hopefully soon, someone is going to call this punk president out and show him for the Bully, he is. What ever happen to the media calling threats to freedom of speech "Sending a chill down the Freedom of the Press."
Jay It may be news to you in the Whitehouse who have been wearing blinders, but you and your boss are hypocrites for using someopne elses children as campaign props to sell an unconstitutional program. These kids are the ones who will have to live their lives in a controlled, managed society in lieu of the freedom we have enjoyed in the past.
Once again the WH tries to change the subject without answering the original item. Guess what 0bama you´re beginning your exit from the political stage cuz the vast majority of Americans are or are finally beginning to see what a smug, lying manipulator you truly are. My God you and your administration know no shame whether its the woman 0bama was comforting after Hurricane Sandy for the photo op during the election and now children surrounding you on stage - seems to me you guys will do anything and I do mean anything. You people make me sick and outraged at the same time....
Thank you, NRA and keep up the good work! BTW, If ANYONE represents the true definition of "repugnant and cowardly", it is THIS W.H. and the agitator-in-chief who sits on his throne there...at least ´til the impeachment!
The irony is even more strange. Should a lunatic show up at BO´s kids´ school, the Secret Service protection and those provided to other kids from the political elite would be armed to take out someone before they even entered the classroom.
My question is why are his kids and those at that school more important than any of the children in any of the other schools in the US?
The point of the NRA ad. was not the President´s daughters, but that the President appears satisfied with his kids have heavily armed protectors while at that high end private school, while the President and the liberal Democrats apparently don´t give much credence to armed resource or security officers being stationed in just regular old public schools where the average family´s kids attend school.
There is absolutely no doubt that the very high level publicity given to the Sandy Hook murders by an obvious mentally ill individual have spawned a number of copy cat multiple murders and that in the short term the public schools are at risk from dangerous mentally ill persons going on their own personal suicide missions, coming up with ideas that to get the utmost attention, committing murders at schools before they take their own lives is the way for them to go. Right now armed resource or security officers in public schools is the only way to combat that threat.
The only thing repugnant and disgusting is what´s living in that White House. It´s going to take years to fix and undo what this neaderthal has done to our country not to mention unknown gallons of orange glo to degrease and destench the living quarters in said White House.
Outstanding ad. It isn´t just the mention of Obama´s teens either. It is as blunt, truthful and courageous as is called for at this time in America. Hey, GOP, take notes. NRA - please stand tall and do not apologize in any way. Bingo #4 and if Pubbies are smart, they will respond just that way when they are badgered on the cable shows tonight about this!!!
I´m glad so many on the left are freaking out over this. It means that someone on our side is actually hitting back and being effective for a change. Hoping they escalate the war of words and give them something more to be ticked off about. Better them than us.
The biggest underreported story out of Washington this year is that the federal budget is shrinking and much more than anyone in either party expected. Consider the numbers: According to the Congressional Budget Office, annual outlays peaked at $3.598 trillion in fiscal 2011. After President Obama´s first two years in office, many in Washington expected that number to hit $4 trillion by 2014. Instead, spending fell to $3.537 trillion in fiscal 2012, and is on pace to fall below $3.45 trillion by the end of this fiscal year (Sept. 30). The $150 billion budget decline of 4%
WASHINGTON — The Pentagon moved Tuesday to ease the pain of mandatory, unpaid furloughs that civilian employees have had to bear for a month because of budgetary pressures, cutting the number of days off from 11 to six. Defense officials said the Pentagon found sufficient savings in the final months of the current fiscal year to lessen the burden on those who have had to take a day off a week without pay since early July. As a result, the final furlough day for most workers will be next week.
It has been a busy few weeks for the Securities and Exchange Commission. In May, the SEC charged two cities—Harrisburg, Pa., and South Miami, Fla.—with securities fraud for allegedly deceiving investors in their municipal bonds. This follows similar fraud charges against states, New Jersey in 2010 and Illinois in March, after SEC investigators uncovered what they called "material omissions" and "false statements" in bond documents related to those state´s pension funds. With Harrisburg, however, the SEC has gone further and charged the city government with "securities fraud
Lois Lerner, the IRS official in charge of tax-exempt groups, took her too-clever-by-half act to Congress yesterday and may have waived her right to claim her Fifth Amendment privilege in the process. Appearing before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, she couldn’t resist citing a little history, bragging on her public service, instructing the committee as to the purpose of the Fifth Amendment, and proclaiming her innocence of everything the committee might be interested in — all before asserting her Fifth Amendment privilege. Chairman Darrell Issa (R., Calif.) was a bit taken aback.
Earlier this year, the Government launched the clasp for those who had taken part in the air offensive during the Second World War, but stopped short of awarding a medal, as campaigners had been calling for. But figures suggest that barely half of those eligible for the lesser award have so far applied, with veterans snubbing the “pathetic” award. (snip)only a clasp, rather than a medal, as “cheese-paringly” mean, adding: “What did those men do except lay down their lives for their duty? My father would have been raging – I know that to be sure.”
A jury in Pennsylvania has convicted abortionist Kermit Gosnell of three counts of murder, one count of involuntary manslaughter, and several counts of performing illegal late-term abortions at his facility in West Philadelphia. Gosnell is eligible for the death sentence, an end that would be as close to justice as earthly powers can mete out in this episode. The English language does not contain a word sufficient for describing the crimes of Kermit Gosnell; “murder” will do, but only for legal purposes. Gosnell’s human abattoir is the logical endpoint of our morally fraudulent national approach to abortion,
The expanding Internal Revenue Service scandal could hardly be any more Drudgeriffic. Well, maybe if in addition to singling out groups with “tea party” or “patriot” in their names, the agency had purchased a few billions rounds of hollow-point ammo. Maybe then. But even as is, the scandal is looking pretty bad and getting worse. The Wall Street Journal is now reporting that the IRS also “scrutinized conservative groups for raising political concerns over government spending, debt and taxes or even for advocating making America a better place to live.” We’ll see where this eventually goes.
When I was a kid, I knew two different Santa Clauses. The first had a fat belly, rosy cheeks, a long white beard, and skin as pink as bubble gum. He was omnipresent, visiting my pre-school and the local mall, visible in all of my favorite Christmas specials. Then there was the Santa in my family’s household, in the form of ornaments, cards, and holiday figurines. A near-carbon copy of the first one—big belly, rosy cheeks, long white beard: check, check, check. But his skin was as dark as mine. Seeing two different Santas was bewildering. Eventually I asked my father what
US President Barack Obama may have moved the masses attending Nelson Mandela’s memorial service with his stirring eulogy, but it was his grinning "selfie" with the Danish and British premiers that set social networks abuzz. In a candid moment captured by a photographer, Denmark’s Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt can be seen holding up her smartphone, with Obama lending a helping hand, as they pose for a picture with David Cameron, all three of them smiling broadly in their seats at Soweto’s World Cup stadium.(Snip)Mashable, the news and technology website, ran the photograph under the headline: ‘‘Dear Obama: Funerals are no place
Johannesburg - A man who provided sign language interpretation on stage for Nelson Mandela´s memorial service, attended by scores of heads of state, was a "fake," the national director of the Deaf Federation of South Africa said on Tuesday. Asked about the claim by The Associated Press, South Africa´s government said it was preparing a statement. Three sign language experts said the man was not signing in South African or American sign languages. South African sign language covers all of the country´s 11 official languages, according to the federation. It wasn´t immediately clear if the unidentified man was using a
On his way to the podium at the memorial ceremony for former South African president Nelson Mandela, President Obama walked down the line of dignitaries, greeting other leaders there to pay their respects. Among the hands shaken: that of Cuban leader Raul Castro. Obama neither made a special effort to shake Castro’s hand nor to avoid him. A snub might have been awkward: In his speech, Obama praised Mandela’s “greatest gift” as “his recognition that we are all bound together in ways that can be invisible to the eye; that there is a oneness to humanity; that we achieve ourselves by
House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) snapped at conservative groups that have come out in opposition to the budget deal reached Wednesday between Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) and Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.). "They´re using the American people for their own purposes. This is ridiculous," Boehner said at a press conference with other members of House Republican leadership on Wednesday. Over the past few days, a number of conservative groups have blasted the deal because it sets discretionary spending levels in the budget higher than previous levels under sequestration. In the past three days, the influential Heritage Action, Club for Growth, Americans
The Obama State Department has finally released a second round of photos revealing the harrowing devastation wrought by a terrorist attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi on Sept. 11, 2012. The new photographs depict rampant damage to the consulate. They show charred walls, smoldering fires, Arabic graffiti defacing exterior walls, and scattered debris throughout. The extent of the damage would lead any reasonably serious person to conclude that this was a cold, calculated attack, carefully coordinated to mark the 11th anniversary of Sept. 11, 2001. Unfortunately for the American people, the Obama-Clinton-Rice cabal that led to the Benghazi cover-up was
A black fashion student says he was brutally attacked by a gang of Hasidic men who shouted anti-gay slurs at him while he was walking through Williamsburg after a night of partying, the Daily News has learned. Taj Patterson, 22, was headed home to Fort Greene around 4:30 a.m. on Dec. 1 when he says more than a dozen ultra-Orthodox Jewish men began assaulting him on Flushing Ave. and yelling, “Stay down, f----t!”
