See It: A Massachusetts man
is savagely beaten outside
pizza shop in Greenwich Village

New York Daily News, by Shane Dixon Kavanaugh*

A heinous beatdown in the heart of Greenwich Village has left a Massachusetts man fighting for his life. Kevin McCarron, 24, was bashed with a tire iron, baseball bat and blackjack and stomped repeatedly by a gang of toughs in the middle of MacDougal St. early Sunday, police and witnesses said. Cops on Monday busted 24-year-old Hatem Farsakh of Brooklyn, who was arraigned on charges of attempted murder and assault. Onlookers were horrified by the savage attack. “I started screaming for someone to call the police,” said a 25-year-old woman who captured the incident on video.

One of the witnesses could have pulled a weapon and stopped the murder attempt right then - oh, wait...NYC uses tax dollars to knowingly and deliberately violate American citizens civil rights where keeping and bearing weaponns is concerned. Guess the police were minutes away, so the victim is out numbered and out of luck.

The descent, post-Rudy, continues in NYC. Bloomberg has more important things to do than address crime, unless by crime you mean drinking a large soda.

Well, at least, the police came an, as is their usual role, picked up the pieces of the victim and took down notes. Police are not there to "protect" anyone. They are there merely to examine and record the aftermath of mayhem and destruction and, perhaps, in one case in seven, arrest the persons responsible, who then have a one chance in three of being convicted of the crime. Victims are seldom involved in any of the process other than as evidence. Their sole protection from such violence is within their own ability to protect themselves.

McCarrons boozed up buddies and the bouncer just watched? Did anyone think of calling the cops. I hope he recovers. But boozed up and belligerent at 5 AM doesn´t usually end up well.

FTA: "I was videoing & it was hard to watch & I screamed for someone to call the police."

•Taking video with a cellphone, perhaps?

FTA re: the bouncer---"brutal fight"
•How is it a "fight" when only one side is armed and the victim is not Chuck Norris, Bruce Lee, or "Grasshopper" Carradine?

Like someone up topic said, "A citizen with a gun could have ended it."

Too bad a court can´t seize the personal property of Cuomo and Bloomberg to pay the medical costs and some kind of "compensation" to the victim.

That base covered -- yeah, plenty of folks came up way short in this atrocity.

Come on people - when someone´s only swinging a tire iron at you, you can´t make it an unfair fight by responding with a gun. Like the little palestinian children who just throw rocks at Israelis. Guns kill. You should be able to defend yourself. Whatsa matter with you.

After the mostly black jury awarded five thugs $43 million for getting shot while assaulting Bernie Goetz on the NYC subway in 1984, you´re not going to find many sympathetic bystanders in NYC. Progressvism may be stupid, but they have a well-developed sense of self-interest.

That´s right...the poor guy was not allowed to protect himself from a gang of armed thugs by having a gun. If he did, they would have arrested him and made him a felon. Now that he has been beaten within an inch of his life, he won´t be able to get any painkillers because Nanny Bloomberg is worried about people becoming addicted. And then if the guy just wants to at least enjoy a soda or have a little salt to make his broth edible, too bad...Bloomberg won´t let him have that small comfort either. Poor guy is screwed.

One day after making an audio appearance on RT to ask Vladimir Putin about Russian surveillance operations, National Security Agency leaker Edward Snowden authored a Guardian column to clarify his intentions behind the question and push back on critics who suggest he was attempting to help whitewash the Russian president’s abuses. “Does Russia intercept, analyse or store millions of individuals’ communications?” Snowden asked Putin on Thursday, garnering a denial from Putin that included the statement: “We don’t have mass system of such interception. And according to our law it cannot exist.” Critics alleged that Snowden appeared in a scripted manner,

When a video of high school student Jeff Bliss calling out his teacher went viral, a lot of people started talking about the state of our education system and ways to improve it. The Central Park Conservancy, the nonprofit organization that manages the city’s most famous greenspace, is coming out against a proposal backed by Mayor de Blasio to replace the horse-drawn carriages with replica old-time cars. Doug Blonsky, the conservancy’s president & CEO, told the Daily News that introducing the electric vehicles to the park would be a bad idea. “Forty million people visit Central Park each year, including runners, bicyclists, kids and dog owners,” Blonsky said Wednesday. “Adding vehicles to the mix will make the

When it comes to tracking the cost of Obama family vacations, there are two primary challenges. First, the Obamas are prolific jet-setters, so there are many details to track. Second, the Obama administration, clearly embarrassed by these lavish and frequent family vacations, stonewalls the release of records at every turn. But we have been relentless in pursuit of this information. Our attorneys file the lawsuits and make our case, and our investigators pour through pages of records and crunch the numbers. And the information we’ve uncovered – information that would otherwise remain under lock and key – shows that the

I live in Las Vegas. I live and breath Nevada politics. Something is very wrong. Something smells rotten in the Nevada desert. And Senator Harry Reid’s fingerprints are all over it. I am of course referring to the Bundy Ranch siege. This was a dispute between a Nevada ranching family with rights to the land in question for 140 years and the BLM (Bureayu of Land Management). The government claims they haven’t paid grazing fees for 20 years. The result was a government assault on the ranch- including snipers with assault rifles, SUV’s, helicopters, airplanes and over 200 heavily armed troops. No

President Obama addressed the White House press corps today, announcing that with the final numbers in, Obamacare´s exchanges have attracted eight million sign-ups -- 35 percent of whom are "under the age of 35," he said. Several elements of his comments were misleading: (1) At first blush, the 35 percent stat is both significant and impressive. As recently as last month, the share of "young invincibles" signing up for plans was struggling in the 25 percent range, far short of the actuarial target of nearly 40 percent. A leap into the mid-30´s, while still shy of the goal, would constitute a major step, and would bode well for the risk pools'

Though the story has only grabbed national headlines in the past several days, rancher Cliven Bundy has illegally grazed cattle on the Nevada land surrounding his farm for over 20 years. He hasn’t paid grazing fees since 1993, and refuses to renew the necessary grazing permit.(Snip)Rather than using the avenues and pathways presented to him, Bundy has staunchly declared his own law and allegiances.
