| President Obama, after a push by the D.C. Council, has agreed to affix license plates to his limo with the phrase "taxation without representation."(Snip)“President Obama has lived in the District now for four years, and has seen first-hand how patently unfair it is for working families in D.C. to work hard, raise children and pay taxes, without having a vote in Congress," White House spokesman Keith Maley said in a statement. "Attaching these plates to the presidential vehicles demonstrates the President’s commitment to the principle of full representation for the people of the District of Columbia and his willingness

Oh come on...we know what he really means. He really means that he supports all taxation without representation. The ONLY reason why he would care about the residents of DC is because they would be Democrat votes AND we know our politicians would likely vote twice since most have a second home in DC.

We need a new slogan today- "No Representation without Taxation". The slugs not paying their fair share have Obama, the judiciary, and much of Congress advocating for them.

That car belongs to the taxpayers. Its not his car to festoon with whatever political statements he wants to make. I do not approve of this politicization on MY property. The GOP needs to tell him to cease and desist from using public property for political purposes.

The portion of DC that was formerly part of Virginia was returned to Virginia in 1846. Thus the portion of DC that was formerly part of MD could be returned to MD. MD would likely get another Congressman out it (at the expense of some imploding blue state) and the number of Senators would remain at 100.
The Federal Buildings could be considered part of a federal territory - like an army base or an Indian reservation.

I guess the next thing we´ll see is billboards condemning republicans strapped to the limo.

Congress as a body is D.C.´s vote. It was the intent of the founders to have the seat of power not influenced by a State body. Could avoid the ´hog´ it all mentality. Or at least that is what was gleaned from reading in American history class.

DC is not a state. It´s the remaining portion of two parcels of land loaned to the federal government for a national headquarters. If it weren´t for all the baggage that would come with it, I´d recommend Maryland take their portion back like Virginia did.

Hey Mr. Constitutional Law Scholar! Even a troglodyte Republcan like me knows that you´d have to amend the Constitution to make this happen. And the interests of the District of Columbia in the national legislature are already quite faithfully represented by the moron Democrats from Maryland and Northern Virginia. The whole purpose of the statehood scam is higher offices and perks for the jerko local pols and a vast expansion of the already bloated city bureaucracy.

Why does the vehicle even NEED plates? Perhaps the better deal would be to issue it a "special use" permit every where it goes..payable to the locale at a Million per. Each time it is flown somewhere the local Govt. receives $1 Mill.where the rubber hits the road....to offset the costs of his presence. $2 Mill. for the Bus. Make it retroactive, tally that up over the last 2 years and it would come close to paying the Sandy Bill.

Whatever else happens as a result of the multiple controversies that have engulfed the administration, one thing is clear: President Obama has failed to meet one of the most important goals he set out when he was first elected, which was to demonstrate that activist government could also be smart government. (Snip) As he put it then: “I think what you saw in this election was people saying, ‘Yes, we don’t want some big, bureaucratic, ever-expanding state. On the other hand, we don’t want a state that’s dysfunctional, that doesn’t believe in its mission, that can’t carry out

Richmond, Va.—Virginia´s activist conservative attorney general has won the Republican Party´s gubernatorial nomination by acclamation. At the GOP´s statewide convention, thousands of conservatives and tea party followers who dominated the Richmond Coliseum on Saturday roared their unanimous support for Ken Cuccinelli. He was unopposed for the nomination and is generally beloved by the tea party for his aggressive challenges to federal mandates. Cuccinelli is an abortion foe who was the first state attorney general to challenge President Barack Obama´s health care reforms in 2010. He faces former Democratic National Committee chairman and Clinton family protege Terry McAuliffe

Legions of Wimbledon fans may find it hard to credit in the man who once defined bad behaviour on the tennis court, but Jimmy Connors says he ‘turned on the charm’ the first time he chatted up Chris Evert.(Snip)Although she has since bitterly regretted giving up on a ‘good, solid marriage’, what some have described as her mid-life crisis struck in 2006 when she divorced Mill after 18 years. The House voted to repeal ObamaCare on Thursday for the third time since Republicans took over the chamber in 2011. Only two Democrats sided with Republicans in the party-line 229-195 vote — Jim Matheson (Utah) and Mike McIntyre (N.C.). All Republicans voted in favor of repeal. This is the 37th time the House GOP has voted to repeal or defund at least part of the bill, but this latest bill will also not become law given Democrats´ control of the Senate. Still, many House Republicans had clamored for the bill from Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) to be considered,

Back in March, The Wall Street Journal’s Damian Paletta profiled Daniel Werfel — then the controller for the White House budget office, and today the newly named acting commissioner of the IRS — focusing on his role in instructing the government how to deal with the sequester’s $85 billion in budget cuts. Here are some highlights from the profile: Known in the White House as “Danny,” Mr. Werfel graduated from Cornell University, earned a master’s degree in public policy from Duke University and a law degree from the University of North Carolina. One of President Barack Obama´s re-election campaign co-chairmen used a leaked document from the IRS to attack GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney during the 2012 election, according to the National Organization for Marriage (NOM).(Snip)NOM discovered that when HRC published its confidential financial documents, it failed to conceal the source of the documents. “After software removed the layers obscuring the document, it is shown that the document came from the Internal Revenue Service,” NOM asserted in its April 2012 release. “The top of each page says, ‘THIS IS A COPY OF A LIVE RETURN FROM SMIPS. What did President Obama do on the evening of 9/11/12 when our men were under attack in Benghazi? The invaluable Andrew McCarthy reminds us that Obama and Secretary Clinton had a 10:00 p.m. phone call of which many (including, I think, Chris Wallace) have lost sight. This morning when Wallace asked Obama aide Dan Pfeiffer what Obama was up to that evening, Pfeiffer declared the line of inquiry “offensive.” Translation: Obama and his minions would prefer to “move on” and are warning the likes of FNC off:(Snip for video)The Weekly Standard’s Daniel Halper has posted the rush transcript

WASHINGTON – The Internal Revenue Serviced scandal today spread further within the White House and closer to President Obama. White House spokesman Jay Carney today disclosed that Obama’s chief of staff, Dennis McDonough, and other top White House officials had advance warning that the IRS was targeting conservative groups. But he insisted McDonough and the other White House officials purposely kept Obama out of the loop.McDonough “rightly chose not to take action” to inform Obama, Carney told reporters at the daily White House briefing.

The Washington Post on Monday reported that Obama’s Department of Justice was investigating journalists before they started wiretapping the Associated Press – for one, Fox News correspondent James Rosen in 2010. Their headline wasn´t "Obama Team Also Spied on Fox News." Fox wasn´t in the headline, on A-1 or on A-12, where the story continued. Newly obtained court documents “reveal how deeply investigators explored the private communications of a working journalist — and raise the question of how often journalists have been investigated as closely as Rosen was in 2010.” Reporter Ann Marimow began:

A senior adviser to President Obama mounted a combative defense of the administration on Sunday, saying the controversies enveloping the White House were the result of Republican lawmakers’ trying to “drag Washington into a swamp of partisan fishing expeditions, trumped-up hearings and false allegations.”The remarks came from Dan Pfeiffer, a member of the president’s inner circle, as he appeared on all five major Sunday morning talk shows in an effort to move the administration past what commentators have described as a “hell week” of controversy and missteps.

One of the questions was whether he/she was concerned about unsecured weapons in the home. Another asked whether he/she was "in a relationship in which you have been physically hurt or are you afraid of your partner?" Judge Andrew Napolitano explained that the question about guns comes out of a post-Sandy Hook executive order by President Obama, but it will be required under Obamacare. Varney expressed amazement
