Those who complain the loudest will be the labor union slugs.

About a month ago I went up to the Customer Service Desk and asked the person if there was a section that listed Made in America. The woman behind the counter smiled at me and told me she would call the store manager to the counter. When the person I arrived I asked where the Made in America section was. The look on his face was priceless. There were about 20 people behind me and I spoke loud enoigh for everyone to hear me. He quickly left the Customer Service desk. I was the 10th person to ask this week.

Ask the Customer Service folks at Walmart, Target and any other store. Record it if you can and put it out on Youtube. Shame them.

People have a lot of fun deriding Walmart for selling foreign made goods and they do. In fact, all major big box stores sell the same foreign goods but Walmart sells them for less money.

It´s a bid to make more moola, not to help the US economy. Give me a break. There isn´t a charitable personallity to be seen in that globalist corporation.

Sure, a "Buy American" push but just the other day they ceased ordering ammunition.

A company exists to make a profit on whatever it does. It´s called capitalism. To lose money is to cease to exist.
Charity begins at home.

I have never liked Walmart, (shoddy goods, dirty stores), but when they caved on the guns and ammo sales, it cemented my dislike.

Oh, and their higher ups gave buckets of $$$ to the bamster.

I love wally world - go there whenever I am able to. They do have wheelchairs and will run to get you a good one. As for made in China, thank the unions - they wanted salaries way over the line. WalMart also hires older people and they are polite and very helpful. Younger ones not so much.

It is absolutely a move to counter conservative backlash against WalMart agreeing to order ammunition. I will NOT shop there, will not give them one dime no matter how they grovel.

Walmart is not the only store that merchandise comes from China. Walk into Macy´s , Dillard´s, or any other store and you will find items made in China.

I love my Walmart. Clean store, well stocked, polite clerks and lots of brand name USA-made items. I watch for the chinese stuff and don´t buy it unless I really need it.

I went to Wal Mart this morning and there are still guns up for sale there.

I don´t care what Wal Mart is saying they are going to do for vets, buy American, etc. They are now willing partners with Dictator Obama in trying to take away our rights under the Second Amendment. To hell with them, I will no longer shop at Wal Mart.

1. It´s a very, very different company from Sam Walton´s Wal-Mart. Very different.

2. Have you noticed this, too? Whenever WalMart runs its "Look how low our prices are!" TV ads, prices in the store have gone up [Breyer´s ice cream, from $3.00 to $3.58 -- that´s a big hike!]. They also double-dip their price-hikes: one example, 200-count tissues are now 182-count, but the price is also higher than when the box held 200. So it´s a 9% price-rise on count, plus the actual price increase on top of that.

3. Buy-American for its own sake isn´t really a sensible policy, any more than trying to keep dying industries alive is sensible. There are almost no farriers or saddle-makers today. Should we be subsidizing employment in those all-but-extinct fields? No! I´d rather buy, for example, foreign-made low-cost clothing [given appropriate standards for quality and worker protection -- it´s possible and helps 3rd worlders] and have Americans in jobs like making specialty metals; computer processor chips; aircraft; cutting-edge cars [the Koreans seem to make some decent "commodity" cars; good]; and similar capital-intensive, high-value, high productivity jobs.

4. WalMart is and should be free to select the suppliers of its choosing. Customers are and should be free to decide where to shop; what to buy there; and what feedback if any they give to WalMart or any other company.

I won´t fall for it again. Wal Mart had a HUGE made in America ad campaign in the 80´s. How quickly they went to All China, All the Time.

I like Wal Mart. I can´t help it. Cheap prices on the cheap stuff I need every day.

I don´t care what their motivation is, I like this. Hopefully it will make a difference.

And, so far at least, they are doing a better job of keeping ammo on the shelves than most sporting goods stores around here.

But if the story of the ammo is true, then I will be shopping elsewhere until they come to their senses.

I hope this doesn´t mean what I think it does. Walmart was being pressured by Obama to support a ban on assault rifles. Obama was trying to convince them that by closing the "gun show loophole" Walmart would see an increase in the sale of non-banned guns.

It seems suspicious to now hear that Walmart will be increasing their inventories of "sporting goods" from U.S. manufacturers. I read that to mean they have capitulated to Obama´s pressure.

If so, expect a major boycott in flyover country. That would be a death blow to Walmart, but deservedly so.

"Walmart´s U.S. unit" refers to a single compact station wagon with "U.S. Unit" painted on each side, right? No matter which Walmart store I´ve visited, well over half of the products were Made in China. And in some stores that seemed the case for virtually all of what´s on their shelves.

Wally world has been a source of .45 bulk ammo (last 500 rounds were purchased a month before the election) - since then the 250 round UMC MegaPacks have been scarce...

Years ago, I sent Walmart a letter suggesting that they change their name to Chine-Mart.

They never responded.

I challenge you to walk through Walmart and pick up products at random. You´ll find e=very, very few.

San Walton is probably rolling over in his grave at all the non-American, un-American merchandise Walmart stocks.

I like Walmart and hope they prosper.

But I prefer the stores I visit avoid politics. And marketing like this borders on politics.

Same thing with TV which is why I avoid many PBS shows and all of NPR and network news.

I will buy the cheapest product that satisfies my quality requirements. I don´t care if it´s made in the USA or Antarctica. Unions go to Hades.

Just what we all need, less Chinese Crap and More Union Crap!

"buy only in America" advocates seem to be naive. Very few necessities and luxuries are manufactured soleley in the USA including assembly, components and parts. Shop at WalMart or Neiman Marcus and the majority of the products are completely or partially made abroad and usually in 9th world countries.

Once the American manufacturing process became utterly dominated by union labor in every single industry born here, manufacturers had no other choice to seek foreign labor to remain competitive and make a profit (remember profits lead to more jobs and more services). This is Economics 101.

I do not begrudge the made in america only crowd. So I suggest hire an American tailor (good luck finding one) to make your clothes. Won´t be that easy with iPad, calculator or digital camera, though.

If the rumor is not true I will stop encouraging my friends and family to stop shopping at WalMart. Waiting to see.
