| In the 20th century, only two presidents shaped new governing coalitions that outlasted them. They were the only two men to appear on five national tickets. The first was FDR, who rang down the curtain in 1932 on the seven decades of Republican hegemony since Abraham Lincoln that had seen only two Democrats in the White House. And Grover Cleveland and Woodrow Wilson had made it only because of divisions inside the GOP. Franklin Roosevelt would win four terms, and his party would win the presidency in seven of nine elections between 1932 and 1968.

While most of what he writes appears to be accurate, I completely disagree with him that Hagel is a "conservative Republican."

His "majority" consists of the mentally disabled, whose votes were stolen by the unions and other thugs who registered them and then got control of their absentee ballots. The Democrats call this their "ground game". Acorn never went away which is how this moron got re-elected. We need to stop his agenda at every point.

There are only two pillars left that could stop NØbama´s socialist agenda from destroying what is left of our republic.
The Supreme Court is one -- but as they proved with the NØbamacare fiasco, they can´t be trusted. And if NØbama gets to flip even one of the real conservative justices, they will just rubber stamp all of NØbama´s agenda from them on.
The House is the other. But they surrendered to NØbama on the fiscal cliff in a way that would make the French so proud. We can´t count on a bunch of RINO´s to have any spines or cajones. Expect them to fold every time they really should make a stand.
The braindead masses who just want their free stuff have won. It will be a very short-lived victory, as our nation will self-destruct and there won´t be anyone left to give them free stuff any more. But they don´t comprehend the long term. They just want free stuff now...

Whether the liberals realize it or not, they have the tiger by the tail on these entitlements. They couldn´t regain control even if they wanted to…and to not regain control is wrecking the country.
The end, in either case, doesn´t bode well for any of us.

Actually, the Republicans are shaping a new minority. One that is right of the Dems, and left of their Conservative base.
They´ll see when they get trounced in 2014 because vote for a third party candidate.

Just as FDR clobbered clowns like Alf Landon, Wendell Wilkie etc; Obama can thank the quality of his opposition, who nominate the likes of Doofus Romney. Crux of the problem is simple. The R Est is loaded w/lefty progressives while the rank and file is center-right.

In one of the most fiery interviews on Fox News Channel, Megyn Kelly took on the attorney for Kermit Gosnell, the abortion doctor convicted of murdering three babies and manslaughter of a woman. Gosnell was sentenced to more than three consecutive life sentences after performing hundreds of late-term abortions. On America Live, Jim McMahon continued to defend his client against the horrific details of his crimes. Kelly started the interview saying, “We don’t tar the attorney with the sins of the client.” McMahon said Gosnell was “disappointed and upset” over the verdict.

Harry Reid said Wednesday that he will push to confirm more judges to the federal appeals court in Washington, D.C., after that court ruled earlier this year that President Obama’s broad use of recess appointment powers was unconstitutional. “You have a majority in that court that is wrecking havoc in the country. The wheels came off the Obama administration yesterday. We learned of a startling assault on freedom of the press by the Department of Justice, following the revelation last week of the unprecedented information-gathering foray by that department against The Associated Press. Then, a few minutes later, the Justice Department’s inspector general released a report declaring that the US attorney in Arizona used the leak of a confidential memo to try to discredit a whistleblower in the notorious “gun-walking” scandal known as Fast and Furious (which got two federal agents killed). The leak was called “egregious.”

WASHINGTON – A top IRS official in the division that reviews nonprofit groups will invoke the Fifth Amendment and refuse to answer questions before a House committee investigating the agency’s improper screening of conservative nonprofit groups. Lois Lerner, the head of the exempt organizations division of the IRS, won’t answer questions about what she knew about the improper screening – or why she didn’t reveal it to Congress, according to a letter from her defense lawyer, William W. One of two men allegedly being questioned in connection with the Boston Marathon bombings was shot and killed by an FBI agent in Florida on Tuesday, (Snip)A friend of Ibragim Todashev said he and Todashev were being investigated as part of the Boston bombings. He said Todashev, 27, knew bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev because both were MMA fighters. The man claims he and Todashev were interviewed by the FBI for nearly three hours on Tuesday. The friend said he left the interview, and when he came back to the apartment he found that there had been a shooting.
