| Watching the president talk about the debt ceiling and his unwillingness to give up any ransom in exchange for it, I find it impossible not to confront the point that as of now nobody seems to believe him. And the reason isn´t hard to identify: the fiscal cliff deal. Not because the fiscal cliff deal was a bad deal; I think it was a good deal. But whatever you think of the deal, it wasn´t the deal that Obama said he would agree to. The administration put a lot of emphasis on the $250,000 cutoff point,

Yeah, the leftist mongrels are really upset about Obama caving on the 250 figure.Of course they were stupid enough to believe Obama would tax his own donors to begin with. How did fat cat Hollywood types get a carve out? Easy, fundraisers.
No matter how many rich liberals you throw in front of these people, they still believe republicans have all the money. There should have been a big tax increase on union workers, they can afford it more than anybody.

It is truely breathtaking how stupid liberals can be. They watch The One lie each and every day but somehow believe he only lies about Republicans and that when he spouts the liberal line he really means it. They are like the abused wife who refuses to leave her husband after endless abuses. Liberals will tolerate any abuse of the country as long as they can be confident their a using leader is pushing the agenda.

The only point of the fiscal cliff was to force the GOP to sacrifice some taxpayers to higher taxes.
As part of the fiscal cliff deal he delayed cuts he previously agreed to for two months. By delaying those cuts, he is now saying the government will default if we don´t make up the revenue for delaying those cuts.

Obama said he wants to fundamentally change the country. One of his strategies is to destroy the opposition. Another is to diminish the power and strength of the country. This is what the "fiscal cliff" was about and that is what the debt ceiling "crisis" is about. Obama has tens of millions of fellow travelers along with most of the mainstream media. Right now they are winning.

Looks like our Matthew got an unexpected bite taken out of his paycheck, his approving comments about the budget deal notwithstanding. Perhaps he is beginning to suspect that his earnings are really going to be affected if Obama gets the debt ceiling raised and proceeds to go on yet another one of his apendaholic binges, like the ditz who gets her credit card limit raised, and proceeds to max it out.

The only thing BO has ever had is bluster. He has no principles to stand on. He simply picks a point and then pontificates. No matter the outcome, he acts like he won and then moves on to the next thing, all along the way telling us how wonderful he is.
Of course BO has no credibility. To have credibility you have to stand for something and support it. The only thing BO Stands for is himself. The only thing you can count on is that BO will act in his own best interests.

Most commentary on Obama´s role in the fiscal cliff tax settlement misses the point. Obama gave his low info voters a holiday on FICA taxes. He didn´t get credit for increasing their take home pay but he got hammered for cutting it when the holiday was over. Usually he benefits from low information voters but this time he is hit by it. It is good to see the mindless mob turn on Obama but this really is a side issue when it comes to conservative principles.

At a secret February ceremony at CIA headquarters in Langley, Va., the chief of the CIA’s base in Benghazi the night of the 9/11 anniversary attacks there was awarded one of the agency’s highest intelligence medals, according to U.S. military and intelligence officials. The honor given behind closed doors to “Bob,” the officer who was in charge of the Benghazi intelligence annex and CIA base that was attacked in the early morning of September 12, 2012 and then abandoned for nearly three weeks, illustrates the murky lines of command that preceded the attack, and helped make it a politically volatile issue.

The Senate on Monday opened debate on a $955 billion farm bill that would reduce federal spending by as much as $23 billion over the next 10 years by cutting funding for food stamps and eliminating some farm-support programs. "This legislation will create jobs, cut taxpayer subsidies and reduce the deficit," Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., said Monday. The White House offered only conditional support for the bill, an indication that lawmakers will need to make changes to win the president´s signature. The Obama administration in April called for a 3 percent reduction in the nation´s crop insurance program,

Journalists are understandably alarmed by the revelation that President Barack Obama´s Justice Department targeted Fox News reporter James Rosen during a leak investigation of a State Department employee. The news, reported by the Washington Post late Sunday night, reveals that the Obama administration will apparently stop at nothing to track down whistle-blowers who leak classified information. In Rosen´s case, that included implicating him as a "criminal co-conspirator" whose actions were punishable with up to 10 years in prison. While it is not uncommon for the government to investigate leaks, it is unprecedented for a journalist

The first lady went to Bowie State and addressed the graduating class. Her speech was a mix of black history and a salute to the graduates. (Snip) It takes a man of particular vision to know, as Obama did, that the country really was ready to send an African American to the White House. But I also think that some day historians will pore over his many speeches to black audiences. They will see a president who sought to hold black people accountable for their communities, but was disdainful of those who looked at him and sought the same.

And yes, I realize that headline is eight words too long. Peter Nicholas at the WSJ: The White House’s chief lawyer learned weeks ago that an audit of the Internal Revenue Service likely would show that agency employees inappropriately targeted conservative groups, a senior White House official said Sunday. That disclosure has prompted a debate over whether the president should have been notified at that time. In the week of April 22, the Office of the White House Counsel and its head, Kathryn Ruemmler, were told by Treasury Department attorneys

Remember Armand Armendariz, the Environmental Protection Agency regional administrator who resigned after regaling an audience of Big Green activists with a history lesson to illustrate his agency´s approach to critics of the EPA´s harshest policies? When the Romans conquered a new province, he said, they would "... find the first five guys they saw and they´d crucify them ..." to make the province "really easy to manage for the next few years." The EPA, he continued, also makes "examples of people who are not complying with the law, you make examples out of them,

The Democratic candidates for mayor in New York are campaigning to win the support of the teachers union. They threaten to return the city to the horrors of the David Dinkins era. Back at the turn of the 1990s, New York City was a mess. Crime was rampant. The schools were dreadful. Children in foster care were brutalized because–as the head of the Child Welfare Agency said–”oversight is racist.” The mayor was an incompetent. And, above all, the city was run for the benefit of its employees rather than its citizens. What followed was 20 years of governance

Former Rep. I’m running for mayor because I’ve been fighting for the middle class and those struggling to make it for my entire life.

The dam protecting the IRS scandal began to crack today when Lois Lerner, the IRS official who announced, and apologized for, the improper singling out of conservative-leaning organizations by IRS employees under her command, announced through her criminal defense lawyer that she will not testify as scheduled tomorrow before the House Oversight Committee. Rather, she will assert her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination. This marks an enormous milestone in the IRS investigation. It can now be taken as more or less established that crimes were committed by Obama administration employees. Lerner’s lawyer tried to minimize the significance

The wheels came off the Obama administration yesterday. We learned of a startling assault on freedom of the press by the Department of Justice, following the revelation last week of the unprecedented information-gathering foray by that department against The Associated Press. Then, a few minutes later, the Justice Department’s inspector general released a report declaring that the US attorney in Arizona used the leak of a confidential memo to try to discredit a whistleblower in the notorious “gun-walking” scandal known as Fast and Furious (which got two federal agents killed). The leak was called “egregious.”

WASHINGTON – A top IRS official in the division that reviews nonprofit groups will invoke the Fifth Amendment and refuse to answer questions before a House committee investigating the agency’s improper screening of conservative nonprofit groups. Lois Lerner, the head of the exempt organizations division of the IRS, won’t answer questions about what she knew about the improper screening – or why she didn’t reveal it to Congress, according to a letter from her defense lawyer, William W. Taylor 3rd. Lerner was scheduled to appear before the House Oversight committee Wednesday.

House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa said embattled IRS official Lois Lerner waived her Fifth Amendment rights and will be hauled back to appear before his panel again. The California Republican said Lerner’s Fifth Amendment right to avoid self-incrimination was voided when she gave an opening statement this morning denying any wrongdoing and professing pride in her government service. “When I asked her her questions from the very beginning, I did so so she could assert her rights prior to any statement,” Issa told POLITICO. “She chose not to do so — so she waived.”

Former Democratic National committee chairman Howard Dean considers the controversy over Benghazi a “joke” and “silly.” “Benghazi is a laughable joke,” Dean proclaimed twice in a discussion with Republican National Committee communications chairman Sean Spicer last week. “With all due respect, governor, when four Americans die serving this country, that’s not a joke, sir,” Spicer responded. “Oh, stop it,” said Dean. The former Democratic presidential candidate also said that there were “no serious questions being asked about Benghazi” and brushed it off as an effort by Republicans to score political points.
