Why Nobody Believes
Obama on the Debt Ceiling

Watching the president talk about the debt ceiling and his unwillingness to give up any ransom in exchange for it, I find it impossible not to confront the point that as of now nobody seems to believe him. And the reason isn´t hard to identify: the fiscal cliff deal. Not because the fiscal cliff deal was a bad deal; I think it was a good deal. But whatever you think of the deal, it wasn´t the deal that Obama said he would agree to. The administration put a lot of emphasis on the $250,000 cutoff point,

Yeah, the leftist mongrels are really upset about Obama caving on the 250 figure.Of course they were stupid enough to believe Obama would tax his own donors to begin with. How did fat cat Hollywood types get a carve out? Easy, fundraisers.

No matter how many rich liberals you throw in front of these people, they still believe republicans have all the money. There should have been a big tax increase on union workers, they can afford it more than anybody.

When he said that obamacare would save families $2500, which is now determined to cost at least that much extra, why would anybody believe anything he says?

It is truely breathtaking how stupid liberals can be. They watch The One lie each and every day but somehow believe he only lies about Republicans and that when he spouts the liberal line he really means it. They are like the abused wife who refuses to leave her husband after endless abuses. Liberals will tolerate any abuse of the country as long as they can be confident their a using leader is pushing the agenda.

The only point of the fiscal cliff was to force the GOP to sacrifice some taxpayers to higher taxes.

As part of the fiscal cliff deal he delayed cuts he previously agreed to for two months. By delaying those cuts, he is now saying the government will default if we don´t make up the revenue for delaying those cuts.

Obama said he wants to fundamentally change the country. One of his strategies is to destroy the opposition. Another is to diminish the power and strength of the country. This is what the "fiscal cliff" was about and that is what the debt ceiling "crisis" is about. Obama has tens of millions of fellow travelers along with most of the mainstream media. Right now they are winning.

Looks like our Matthew got an unexpected bite taken out of his paycheck, his approving comments about the budget deal notwithstanding. Perhaps he is beginning to suspect that his earnings are really going to be affected if Obama gets the debt ceiling raised and proceeds to go on yet another one of his apendaholic binges, like the ditz who gets her credit card limit raised, and proceeds to max it out.

The only thing BO has ever had is bluster. He has no principles to stand on. He simply picks a point and then pontificates. No matter the outcome, he acts like he won and then moves on to the next thing, all along the way telling us how wonderful he is.

Of course BO has no credibility. To have credibility you have to stand for something and support it. The only thing BO Stands for is himself. The only thing you can count on is that BO will act in his own best interests.

Most commentary on Obama´s role in the fiscal cliff tax settlement misses the point. Obama gave his low info voters a holiday on FICA taxes. He didn´t get credit for increasing their take home pay but he got hammered for cutting it when the holiday was over. Usually he benefits from low information voters but this time he is hit by it. It is good to see the mindless mob turn on Obama but this really is a side issue when it comes to conservative principles.

They put on a show for us every time then give in to dear leader and tell us "we tried our best but, you know, it did not pass." Always the famous last words. GREENSBORO, Ga. — Golf holes the size of pizzas. Soccer balls on the back nine. A mulligan on every hole. These are some of the measures — some would say gimmicks — that golf courses across the country have experimented with to stop people from quitting the game. Golf has always reveled in its standards and rich tradition. But increasingly a victim of its own image and hidebound ways, golf has lost five million players in the last decade, according to the National Golf Foundation, with 20 percent of the existing 25 million golfers apt to quit in the next few years. People under 35 have especially spurned the game, saying it takes too

It’s time for Western states to take control of federal lands within their borders, lawmakers and county commissioners from Western states said at Utah’s Capitol on Friday. More than 50 political leaders from nine states convened for the first time to talk about their joint goal: wresting control of oil-, timber -and mineral-rich lands away from the feds. "It’s simply time," said Rep. Ken Ivory, R-West Jordan, who organized the Legislative Summit on the Transfer for Public Lands along with Montana state Sen. Jennifer Fielder. "The urgency is now." Utah House Speaker Becky Lockhart, R-Provo, was flanked by a dozen participants, including

The famous Clinton White House document known as "the conspiracy commerce memo" has finally surfaced. The memo, which details how right-wing conspiracy theories made their way into the mainstream press, was written in 1995 and first acknowledged by the White House in 1997. The idea of a “conspiracy” was also famously referred to by Hillary Clinton in 1998, when she cited a “vast right-wing conspiracy that has been conspiring against my husband since the day he ran for president.” The memo, part of the latest trove of documents released by the Clinton Presidential Library on Friday, outlines “the communication stream of conspiracy

Poland and the United States will announce next week the deployment of U.S. ground forces to Poland as part of an expansion of NATO presence in Central and Eastern Europe in response to events in Ukraine. That was the word from Poland’s defense minister, Tomasz Siemoniak, who visited The Post Friday after meeting with Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel at the Pentagon on Thursday. Siemoniak said the decision has been made on a political level and that military planners are working out details. There will also be intensified cooperation in air defense, special forces, cyberdefense and other areas. Poland will play a

AMSTERDAM -- Charlotte van den Berg was a 20-year-old college student working part-time in Amsterdam´s city archives when she and other interns came across a shocking find: letters from Jewish Holocaust survivors complaining that the city was forcing them to pay back taxes and late payment fines on property seized after they were deported to Nazi death camps. How, the survivors asked, could they be on the hook for taxes due while Hitler´s regime was trying to exterminate them? A typical response was: "The base fees and the fines for late payment must be satisfied, regardless of whether a third party,

MOKPO, South Korea -- A prosecutor says that the third mate steering a South Korean ferry at the time of a major accident was navigating those waters for the first time. Senior prosecutor Yang Jung-jin told reporters that the 25-year-old mate was steering the ship as it passed through an area with lots of islands clustered close together and fast currents. The ferry sank Wednesday. More than 270 people are still missing. Yang says that another mate usually took controls through the area. But because heavy fog caused a departure delay, the third mate was steering the ship through the waters. Yang says

President Obama addressed the White House press corps today, announcing that with the final numbers in, Obamacare´s exchanges have attracted eight million sign-ups -- 35 percent of whom are "under the age of 35," he said. Several elements of his comments were misleading: (1) At first blush, the 35 percent stat is both significant and impressive. As recently as last month, the share of "young invincibles" signing up for plans was struggling in the 25 percent range, far short of the actuarial target of nearly 40 percent. A leap into the mid-30´s, while still shy of the goal, would constitute a major step, and would bode well for the risk pools'

He hasn’t paid grazing fees since 1993, and refuses to renew the necessary grazing permit.(Snip)Rather than using the avenues and pathways presented to him, Bundy has staunchly declared his own law and allegiances. The White House is going to war with another fox — and this time, it’s personal. The Wall Street Journal reports that a red fox has been causing chaos around the White House, tripping security alarms, digging up Michelle’s garden and distracting the president from his duties. The Secret Service won’t give any details about how often the fox trips the White House’s obviously sophisticated security alarms, but rest assured, officials say, they’re watching. President Obama was apparently “stunned” to see the fox roaming freely down the oft-photographed White House colonnade, home to the world’s shortest, but most dramatic, outdoor strolls.
