Watching the president talk about the debt ceiling and his unwillingness to give up any ransom in exchange for it, I find it impossible not to confront the point that as of now nobody seems to believe him. And the reason isn´t hard to identify: the fiscal cliff deal. Not because the fiscal cliff deal was a bad deal; I think it was a good deal. But whatever you think of the deal, it wasn´t the deal that Obama said he would agree to. The administration put a lot of emphasis on the $250,000 cutoff point,
Yeah, the leftist mongrels are really upset about Obama caving on the 250 figure.Of course they were stupid enough to believe Obama would tax his own donors to begin with. How did fat cat Hollywood types get a carve out? Easy, fundraisers.
No matter how many rich liberals you throw in front of these people, they still believe republicans have all the money. There should have been a big tax increase on union workers, they can afford it more than anybody.
What is amazing to me is reading the comment following this article. I do believe that liberals are mentally ill. How do you think like they do and not be? Crazy talk...and always their prince, Obama, is never, ever wrong and it´s all....now wait...yep, Bush´s fault.
It is truely breathtaking how stupid liberals can be. They watch The One lie each and every day but somehow believe he only lies about Republicans and that when he spouts the liberal line he really means it. They are like the abused wife who refuses to leave her husband after endless abuses. Liberals will tolerate any abuse of the country as long as they can be confident their a using leader is pushing the agenda.
The only point of the fiscal cliff was to force the GOP to sacrifice some taxpayers to higher taxes.
As part of the fiscal cliff deal he delayed cuts he previously agreed to for two months. By delaying those cuts, he is now saying the government will default if we don´t make up the revenue for delaying those cuts.
Obama said he wants to fundamentally change the country. One of his strategies is to destroy the opposition. Another is to diminish the power and strength of the country. This is what the "fiscal cliff" was about and that is what the debt ceiling "crisis" is about. Obama has tens of millions of fellow travelers along with most of the mainstream media. Right now they are winning.
Looks like our Matthew got an unexpected bite taken out of his paycheck, his approving comments about the budget deal notwithstanding. Perhaps he is beginning to suspect that his earnings are really going to be affected if Obama gets the debt ceiling raised and proceeds to go on yet another one of his apendaholic binges, like the ditz who gets her credit card limit raised, and proceeds to max it out.
The only thing BO has ever had is bluster. He has no principles to stand on. He simply picks a point and then pontificates. No matter the outcome, he acts like he won and then moves on to the next thing, all along the way telling us how wonderful he is.
Of course BO has no credibility. To have credibility you have to stand for something and support it. The only thing BO Stands for is himself. The only thing you can count on is that BO will act in his own best interests.
Most commentary on Obama´s role in the fiscal cliff tax settlement misses the point. Obama gave his low info voters a holiday on FICA taxes. He didn´t get credit for increasing their take home pay but he got hammered for cutting it when the holiday was over. Usually he benefits from low information voters but this time he is hit by it. It is good to see the mindless mob turn on Obama but this really is a side issue when it comes to conservative principles.
Democrats know that every lie they can get out to their propaganda ministry (MSM), whom happily lies further in support of the lie, will immediately be truth to be vehemently defended by the D-, Stepford Liberal, useful idiots they created in their public indoctrination (K-12/University education) system.

He get away with it because Congress allows this to happen! They just can´t say no. They put on a show for us every time then give in to dear leader and tell us "we tried our best but, you know, it did not pass." Always the famous last words. Well Congress What are you going to do this time? Our Freedom is at hand as well as yours.
Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) won positive reviews from skeptical House Republicans on Wednesday morning for the budget deal he negotiated with Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.), as senior lawmakers predicted a strong vote as early as Thursday. While some conservatives criticized the deal, lawmakers said there was little sign of the kind of revolt that has derailed Republican fiscal plans in the past. The House is likely to vote on the plan Thursday, and because party leaders expect significant support from Democrats, they are not sweating defections from the right flank. “We feel very good about where we are with our members,”
At the 11th hour last night, conservative Texas Rep. Steve Stockman filed papers to challenge incumbent Sen. John Cornyn. The immediate response from the chattering classes was as follows: There’s not enough time for Stockman to raise the requisite funds to win in such a large state, and even if there were, Stockman (whose campaign is in debt) probably isn’t capable of marshaling the kind of organization needed.(Snip)Conservatives who were once in danger of too much passivity are probably in danger of throwing some babies out with the bath water. Changing times call for changing roles, and it occurs to
It could have had a much different outcome. A family of six spent two days in the Nevada wilderness in sub-zero temperatures after their Jeep rolled off the side of a dirt road and into a crevice. James Glanton and his girlfriend Christina McIntee huddled with their two children, and her nephew and niece, keeping everyone together and keeping everyone warm. After they were found Tuesday, all six were in stable condition with "no frostbite, just some exposure issues," said Patty Bianchi, the CEO of Pershing General Hospital. Dr. Doug Vacek told reporters they all were doing "very well." So how did this
It´s the coldest case in American history. The settlers who inhabited the 16th century North Carolina colony of Roanoke mysteriously disappeared centuries ago, leaving behind only two clues: the words "Croatoan" and "Cro" carved into a fort´s gatepost and a nearby tree. Many conspiracy theories have been concocted as to what happened in 1590, a mere three years after the colonists arrived in North America, but none have proven fruitful. Until now. Technological advances and the discovery of a cover-up on an ancient map have let researchers unearth new clues that may help bring an end to the mystery of America´s lost
President Barack Obama’s health agency said it has spent $319 million building an online health-insurance marketplace through October. More than three years after the passage of Obama’s signature health-care law in 2010, it’s almost impossible to verify and track that spending through public records. What the estimates don’t include is the around-the-clock effort to repair the website, which hundreds of thousands of Americans found unusable after its Oct. 1 debut. The race to fix it brought in computer engineers from companies such as Google Inc., Red Hat Inc. and Oracle Corp. and is ongoing today. The figures include what has been paid to
DETROIT -- Torrents of water spew from broken pipes in Detroit´s Crosman School, cascading down stairs before pooling on the warped tile of what was once a basketball court. No one knows how long the water has flowed through the moldy bowels of the massive building a few miles north of downtown, but Crosman has been closed since 2007. It´s not the only empty structure where city water steadily fills dark basements or runs into the gutter, wasting money and creating safety hazards. As Detroit goes through the largest municipal bankruptcy in U.S. history, the city´s porous water system illustrates how some
We are locked in a generational war, which will get worse before it gets better. Indeed, it may not get better for a long time. No one wants to admit this, because it’s ugly and unwelcome. Parents are supposed to care for their children, and children are supposed to care for their aging parents. For families, these collective obligations may work. But what makes sense for families doesn’t always succeed for society as a whole. The clash of generations is intensifying. Last week, a federal judge ruled that Detroit qualifies for municipal bankruptcy. This almost certainly means that pensions and health
When I was a kid, I knew two different Santa Clauses. The first had a fat belly, rosy cheeks, a long white beard, and skin as pink as bubble gum. He was omnipresent, visiting my pre-school and the local mall, visible in all of my favorite Christmas specials. Then there was the Santa in my family’s household, in the form of ornaments, cards, and holiday figurines. A near-carbon copy of the first one—big belly, rosy cheeks, long white beard: check, check, check. But his skin was as dark as mine. Seeing two different Santas was bewildering. Eventually I asked my father what
US President Barack Obama may have moved the masses attending Nelson Mandela’s memorial service with his stirring eulogy, but it was his grinning "selfie" with the Danish and British premiers that set social networks abuzz. In a candid moment captured by a photographer, Denmark’s Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt can be seen holding up her smartphone, with Obama lending a helping hand, as they pose for a picture with David Cameron, all three of them smiling broadly in their seats at Soweto’s World Cup stadium.(Snip)Mashable, the news and technology website, ran the photograph under the headline: ‘‘Dear Obama: Funerals are no place
Johannesburg - A man who provided sign language interpretation on stage for Nelson Mandela´s memorial service, attended by scores of heads of state, was a "fake," the national director of the Deaf Federation of South Africa said on Tuesday. Asked about the claim by The Associated Press, South Africa´s government said it was preparing a statement. Three sign language experts said the man was not signing in South African or American sign languages. South African sign language covers all of the country´s 11 official languages, according to the federation. It wasn´t immediately clear if the unidentified man was using a
On his way to the podium at the memorial ceremony for former South African president Nelson Mandela, President Obama walked down the line of dignitaries, greeting other leaders there to pay their respects. Among the hands shaken: that of Cuban leader Raul Castro. Obama neither made a special effort to shake Castro’s hand nor to avoid him. A snub might have been awkward: In his speech, Obama praised Mandela’s “greatest gift” as “his recognition that we are all bound together in ways that can be invisible to the eye; that there is a oneness to humanity; that we achieve ourselves by
The Obama State Department has finally released a second round of photos revealing the harrowing devastation wrought by a terrorist attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi on Sept. 11, 2012. The new photographs depict rampant damage to the consulate. They show charred walls, smoldering fires, Arabic graffiti defacing exterior walls, and scattered debris throughout. The extent of the damage would lead any reasonably serious person to conclude that this was a cold, calculated attack, carefully coordinated to mark the 11th anniversary of Sept. 11, 2001. Unfortunately for the American people, the Obama-Clinton-Rice cabal that led to the Benghazi cover-up was
House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) snapped at conservative groups that have come out in opposition to the budget deal reached Wednesday between Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) and Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.). "They´re using the American people for their own purposes. This is ridiculous," Boehner said at a press conference with other members of House Republican leadership on Wednesday. Over the past few days, a number of conservative groups have blasted the deal because it sets discretionary spending levels in the budget higher than previous levels under sequestration. In the past three days, the influential Heritage Action, Club for Growth, Americans
A black fashion student says he was brutally attacked by a gang of Hasidic men who shouted anti-gay slurs at him while he was walking through Williamsburg after a night of partying, the Daily News has learned. Taj Patterson, 22, was headed home to Fort Greene around 4:30 a.m. on Dec. 1 when he says more than a dozen ultra-Orthodox Jewish men began assaulting him on Flushing Ave. and yelling, “Stay down, f----t!”
