Americans misunderstand point
of the Second Amendment [Video]

Daily Caller, by Ginni Thomas

Original Article

Author and economist Walter Williams told The Daily Caller that the purpose of the Second Amendment is to protect Americans from their own government — not simply to ensure hunting rights. Williams, a syndicated columnist and the John M. Olin Distinguished Professor of Economics at George Mason University, suggested that common misconceptions about the Second Amendment undermine the gun control debate. “[The Founding Fathers´] stated reason was to allow the American people to protect themselves from the United States Congress — that is, government.

AND Obama doesn´t have the authority to over-ride the Constitution on his personal whim. He figuratively wipes his arse with the Constitution whenever it doesn´t agree with his "domination" agenda.

This anti-American usurper is out of control! I´m calling on Congress to cut him off! Do it NOW!

And if Professor Williams is correct as I believe he is, the 2nd amendment intent was to ensure that private citizens would have access to any and all weapons that would be needed to defend their liberty from a tyrannical government. that would include any type of weapon that could be used within the borders of the USA to suppress and subjugate. That train has already left the station but the right to all weapons currently legal should not be infringed upon.

One Two punch..NO to Obama on gun control, followed by NO on raising the debt limit.
It is time for Obama to feel the back of our hands on his face.
Valerie Jarett said he would be ready to "RULE" from day one of his term.
We the People will not be ruled.
Cut up Obama´s credit card..he is maxxed out.

I´m glad to hear Walter Williams say this about the 2nd Amendment. I scream at my tv a lot when Republicans blither on about hunting but no one hears me but my dog.

This is the absolute truth. If you have inalienable rights granted to you from your creator then you have the inalienable right to protect those freedoms. The founders knew tyranny.

The response is to start pushing for the end of the GCA 1934, 1968 and FOPA 1986 as well as elimination of ATF. The government already gave up their power to tax which was (supposedly, according to the court) the only way they could mess with our purchasing/possessing selective fire weapons, grenades, artillery, etc - so file in the courts to get all of our 2nd amendment right back and remove gov thug harassment using our tax dollars. Check out the 7th and 10th circuit decisions back in the early 90s if you didn´t know that.

...I would pray NEVER to have to use a gun on an american soldier, but there are factions within our government, I wouldn´t feel too sure about...

...and though we may never have a "Red Dawn" encounter, doesn´t hurt to stay sharp...

The Second Amendment was never about hunting varmints of the four legged kind. It is there so that citizens may protect themselves from a corrupt, tyrannical and oppressive government. Now it appears that such a government may be coalescing in Washington, D.C.

During the Civil War many of the wealthy sponsored and trained cannon crews, with privately owned cannon.

I wish we still did. I´d feel safer, frankly, if we had privately held, as much firepower as the Feds.

And by the way, Mr. Speaker, The Second Amendment is not for killing ducks .... It is for hunting politicians like (in) Grozney and in 1776, when they take your independence away".

Yes, I have been saying this all along every time I hear stupid lefties try to bring up the hunting thing. This is escatly why EVERY single gun control law on the books is illegal and unconstitutional. What part of "...will not be infringed" do they not understand?? Repeal every single gun control law on the books. The Constitution is the overriding law of the land.

The commander in chief of the American armed forces today forced a violation of Marine Corps regulations, so he wouldn’t get wet. According to Marine Corps regulation MCO P1020.34F of the Marine Corps Uniform Regulations chapter 3, a male Marine is not allowed to carry an umbrella while in uniform. There is no provision in the Marine Corps uniform regulation guidelines that allows a male Marine to carrying an umbrella. Nevertheless, during a press conference under a light drizzle with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan this morning, President Obama allowed the First Head to be

The chairman of the House Intelligence Committee said Sunday he believes “more whistleblowers” will come forward with information on the deadly attack last year on diplomatic outpost in Benghazi, Libya. “I do think we are going to see more whistleblowers. I know certainly my committee has been contacted, I think others committees [have been contacted] as well,” Rep. Mike Rogers (R-Mich.) said on “Fox News Sunday.”Rogers’s comments came days after a trio of State Department officials criticized the Obama administration’s actions regarding the Sept. 11, 2012 attacks at a House Oversight and Government Reform Committee hearing.

Victoria Toensing, attorney for Benghazi whistleblower Gregory Hicks, says Hicks is a Democrat who voted for Hillary Clinton during the 2008 primaries, and President Obama twice for President. Toensing also said that NBC News "spiked" the story this week, prior to Hicks´ dramatic testimony before Congress. Toensing appeared on WMAL-FM in Washington DC Saturday with host Steve Malzberg. "He voted for Hillary in the primary and Obama twice. NBC spiked the story where I told it before the hearings... ...It’s just amazing what the press is still trying to do to cover this up.

The older of the two Chechen brothers suspected of bombing the Boston Marathon was wounded but alive following a police gun battle when his younger brother ran him over with a car, possibly causing his death. Offering the first detailed account of the firefight, Police Chief Edward Deveau, of Watertown, Massachusetts, where the drama had unfolded early Friday morning, has revealed that 26-year-old Tamerlan Tsarnaev walked towards officers firing a gun before he ran out of ammunition and was tackled to the ground. ´He all of a sudden comes out from under cover and just starts walking down the street,

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) released a report documenting attempted abuses of federal power by the Obama administration on Tuesday, saying the administration “knows virtually no bounds.” Cruz points to Obama’s own Supreme Court appointees, Elena Kagan and Sonia Sotomayor, to make his case: "When President Obama’s own Supreme Court nominees join their colleagues in unanimously rejecting the Administration’s call for broader federal power six times in just over one year, the inescapable conclusion is that the Obama Administration’s view of federal power knows virtually no bounds,” the senator’s report said.

Are they thinking little red head, freckle-faced Jimmy down the street is going to, you know, kill them? Mug them? I don´t think so. The Justice Department is taking the first steps toward carrying out President Obama’s executive actions on gun control. Attorney General Eric Holder on Friday released three proposals to strengthen the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS), which was one of the 23 actions ordered by Obama last week to tackle gun violence. The proposed regulations would give local law-enforcement agencies access to the gun-sale database that is maintained by the FBI. The rules would also preserve records of denied weapons sales indefinitely. The Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act already requires federal background checks for gun purchases, but not every firearm

What did President Obama do on the evening of 9/11/12 when our men were under attack in Benghazi? The invaluable Andrew McCarthy reminds us that Obama and Secretary Clinton had a 10:00 p.m. phone call of which many (including, I think, Chris Wallace) have lost sight. This morning when Wallace asked Obama aide Dan Pfeiffer what Obama was up to that evening, Pfeiffer declared the line of inquiry “offensive.” Translation: Obama and his minions would prefer to “move on” and are warning the likes of FNC off:(Snip for video)The Weekly Standard’s Daniel Halper has posted the rush transcript

WASHINGTON - There were new questions Saturday night concerning if anyone in the White House was aware of the IRS´ targeting of conservative groups. Inspector General Russell George said he informed a deputy at the Treasury Department in June of 2012 about the probe into the IRS. The Treasury Department confirmed the timeline but said they did not know the details of the investigation until last week.(Snip)Marcus Owens ran the tax-exempt division at the IRS for 10 years. He said it isn´t difficult to figure out who´s doing what at the agency.

It began in earnest last Friday. A flash mob of latte drinking, tofu eating media that has done its best to quell, rather than fan the flames of truth, turned on one of their own. Jay Carney lay bludgeoned at the base of the podium, a victim of friendly fire. Ironically, the attack was reminiscent of the one in Benghazi he has repeatedly denied the Administration he represents bears any responsibility for. “Changed twelve times?!” came the cries. And with good reason. We were misled; no, lied to.

Treasury Secretary Jack Lew on Friday urged congressional leaders to raise the debt limit and insisted that the White House is not going to negotiate over the increase because lawmakers have "no choice." "We will not negotiate over the debt limit," Lew wrote. "The creditworthiness of the United States is non-negotiable. The question of whether the country must pay obligations it has already incurred is not open to debate." Lew said that while President Obama is willing to discuss plans to reduce the nation´s deficit with Congress, those talks must be kept separate from any effort to raise the nation´s debt cap.
