Sandy Hook parents group
enters the national debate

NEWTOWN -- Sandy Hook Promise, a citizens group composed of parents in the Newtown school district -- including the families of some victims of the Dec. 14 school shooting -- stepped onto the national stage Monday morning, promising to advocate for changes that would prevent future such tragedies from occurring. "I don´t want there to be someone sharing my experience and consoling someone the next time. I do not want there to be a next time," Nicole Hockley, the mother of Dylan Hockley, a first-grader killed at the school, said at a morning news conference.

Comments:
They have not stated their position yet. I hope and pray that in their extremely emotionally devastated state of mind that they don´t start to behave like the 9/11 widows and become pawns of the vile Democrats. It has only been one month since this tragedy. I can´t imagine getting involved in such a volatile matter so soon.

If they don´t become pawns of the vile democrats the media will have no use for them.

Good for them. They do not want to be a single issue group and are also looking into mental health and school safety issues. They are honoring their children more than they could possibly know. Hopefully, as OP indicated, they will not become pawns of the democrats. One armed teacher in that school could have stopped this tragedy.

My hearts go out to all of the families. Thank you for being responsible in your powerful group´s message.

Sorry about your loss lady, but unless you use facts and logic I´m supposed to listen to you why? Facts and logic have weight. If all they have are ´feelings´ then they can keep them to themselves as they have no special status - though that is contrary to L/P (Libtard/Progtard) rules of priority (pretty much inverted, in fact).

Sadly, there always is a "next time." The best that citizens can do is to ensure that their schools are properly guarded to keep gun wielding lunatics out.

I have not been dissuaded of my position that this was the work of ´our´ gov´t.

In order to further their guns agenda.

And I will never be dissuaded.

Washington, DC hates America, (us).

The Dems will poiticize this event like 9/11, Columbine, Oklahomao , VMA, etc., to use the victims of these horrific, unprecedented crimes to further their radical agenda.

What is so sad is that these families will not realize that until the cameras and Obama find some other "crisis not to go to waste."

Once scorned by the media and Dems, these families will then start the law suit racket.

Gun control will not bring these people back nor deter another insane rampage. However, one equipped teacher, assistant, administrator or parents would have likely curbed the loss of life.

Amazing who stupid democrats and victims can be in note facing the actual cause and cure of these type of events. Government regulation will do nothing to eradicate this type of violence.

Good and Evil have been with us since Cain and Able. As the population grows, so do the problems.
These parents need to think about other parents, who have the right to protect THEIR children at home, with guns. Had someone in that school had a gun, perhaps it could have been stopped.

Propaganda Alert! Biden went to recruit parents to stand on the podium with Obama as he violates the constitution... in hopes of shaming Americans that do not want to lose their constitutional rights.

In 2007, then Senator Barack Obama appeared on CNN´s Larry King Live and called on U.S. Attorney General Alberto Gonzales to resign. Obama said Gonzales was acting more like the president´s attorney than the people´s attorney and viewed himself as an "enabler of the administration." "Well, I voted against Alberto Gonzales confirmation for precisely the reason we are seeing now. I said this on the floor of the senate, that although he seemed to be a capable attorney, he seemed to conceive his role as being the president´s attorney instead of being the people´s attorney," Obama said.

The way to prevent abortionists like convicted murderer Kermit Gosnell from occurring again is to build more Planned Parenthood clinics, Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-N.Y.) said at a House Judiciary Subcommittee hearing on Thursday about legislation that would prevent abortion after 20 weeks nationwide. “I would urge my colleagues to think about the extent to which he, Dr. Gosnell, represented the poor quality of health care services available in poorer communities,” Nadler said at the Subcommittee on the Constitution and Civil Justice hearing. “We should be working to make sure that high quality

House Speaker John A. Boehner on Thursday flatly ruled out chances of the House passing the Senate’s immigration bill, saying his chamber will debate its own bill instead. The Ohio Republican and his top lieutenants in the party issued a joint statement that seemed designed to tamp down some of the momentum behind the Senate bill, which emerged from a committee on a bipartisan 13-5 vote this week, and to stake out a House GOP position. “While we applaud the progress made by our Senate colleagues, there are numerous ways in which

During friendly questioning from Rep. Hank “I fear that Guam will capsize!” Johnson in Congress last week, Attorney General Eric Holder offered the following statement. In regard to potential prosecution of the press for the disclosure of material. This is not something I’ve ever been involved in, heard of, or would think would be wise policy. He made that statement before the facts about the sweep on Fox News’ James Rosen were known. Since then, it’s come to light that Holder himself approved the subpoena that, among other things, named Rosen as a criminal co-conspirator.

As the saying goes, scratch a liberal and you’ll find a tyrant underneath. NY Gov. Andrew Cuomo is but the latest example. He shoved a very restrictive and ill-considered gun law through the state legislature in the dead of night. Among its flaws, the law criminalized police officers who tote firearms with magazines that hold more than seven rounds. Sheriffs around the state have objected to the law. Cuomo summoned them to the state capitol under what appears to be a false pretext, and used the meeting to threaten them into silence. Cuomo invited

The National Council of La Raza (translation: The Race) has partnered with the Office of Personnel Management to encourage Hispanic activists and members to burrow into the federal government. A workshop sponsored by La Raza/The Race will take place in New Orleans on July 23, 2013. Senior Executive Service (SES) employees are federal government employees in special executive management positions, often with salaries approaching $200,000 per year (and well past that with benefits). OPM, a federal government agency, is cooperating and partnering

On Wednesday, Drummer Lee Rigby of the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers, a man who had served Queen and country honorably in the hell of Helmand Province in Afghanistan, emerged from his barracks on Wellington Street, named after the Duke thereof, in southeast London. Minutes later, he was hacked to death in broad daylight and in full view of onlookers by two men with machetes who crowed "Allahu Akbar!" as they dumped his carcass in the middle of the street like so much roadkill. As grotesque as this act of savagery was, the aftermath was even more unsettling

Washington rumor has it that Obama wants to be U.N. Secretary General. There are several reasons that make that likely, and if it´s true, it throws new light on a lot of Obama´s oddities -- including his Royalty Bows, his Apology Tours, his Muslim Sellout, and the Benghazi Cover-Up. But first -- why would Obama be planning to become the chief of the U.N. before he has even finished his second term?

Anthony Weiner’s New York mayoral candidacy was only made more improbable today after he revealed that he visited a Houston psychiatric facility following his resignation from Congress in 2011. Haunted by scandal surrounding his sexually explicit online communications with women, the Democratic former congressman sought treatment for his compulsive behavior from mental health professionals at the Gabbard Center. According to its website, the facility provides “3-day outpatient psychiatric evaluation,” particularly to “professionals who are in personal or professional crises.” While Weiner did not disclose

Fox News chief Roger Ailes has sent a memo to his subordinates at the leading cable news network. He sent this memo to his staff today in connection with the federal investigation into an alleged leak to Fox News reporter James Rosen, a story that the Washington Post’s Ann E. Marimow broke earlier this week. The memo’s a masterpiece, too. For all those who wonder what it is about Ailes that endears his people to him — and that makes him such a good interviewee for any media reporter lucky enough to get an audience

WASHINGTON —In a dramatic departure from existing White House procedures, President Obama requested today that his staff start cc’ing him on stuff. “Look, I know a lot of you think I’m really busy and you don’t want to bother me,” the President reportedly told his staff in an Oval Office meeting. “But cc me anyway. It’s good for me to keep up on what’s going on around here.” “It’s not good when I turn on the news and they’re talking about something at the White House and I’m like, whoa, when did that happen?”

The Boy Scouts of America (BSA) have reversed their longstanding membership guidelines to allow homosexuals to join the organization. In an email to CNSNews.com, the BSA public affairs office said the vote on the resolution to “remove the restriction denying membership to youth on the basis of sexual orientation alone” was passed with 61.44 percent in favor and 38.56 percent opposed. “For 103 years, the Boy Scouts of America has been a part of the fabric of this nation, with a focus on working together to deliver the nation’s foremost youth program of character development and values-based leadership training,”
