If he had done the
first Iraq correctly we wouldn´t have the second...if it gets hot for the won the colin steps in...sick...and I hope his conscience bothers him about Libby.

Just like Obama, he got where he is only because of Affirmative Action.

It grows *extremely* tedious watching the left repeatedly trot out ´race´ as an absolute defense against valid criticisms...

When Republicans call Powell names for speaking his mind, it does not bode well for broadening the tent to bring in more voters.

I am crushingly disappointed in the General.

Was the General not at the airport reception of the Benghazi bodies? I thought I read that somewhere. If so, it shows how deep he is in with O and Hil. I would assume he was on the Dem payroll while working for the Bushes too.

Really, who called him names? That is all part of the game right? Any criticism is racist? Powell betrayed the Bush Family, who did nothing but support him. What a jerk. there, I called him a name. I am part of the "dark" underbelly of the Republican party.

Being black supersedes integrity, morals, character and all logical thoughts or previous positions stated or taken.

It is hardwired into the DNA....so whenever a black is challenged or otherwise called out, blackness always is an escape.

Facts are facts, #6. I don´t see any falsehoods directed toward Mr Powell. And by the way, why doesn´t anybody EVER ask him about the Scooter Libby travesty?

The GOP tent was too big when it included Powell.

General Powell served honorably while in Viet Nam. Since them he seems to be bent on qualifying for two of the three descriptions of the White Feather Award.

Powell can be excused for his abrupt cessation of the first Iraq war.

He and Bush were agreed that a lesson from Viet Nam was to avoid a long and gradual escalation toward an undefined objective; hence the "Powell doctrine" of, go in with overwhelming force, win decisively, and at a preordained point, quit. That plan was well conceived and appropriate, and was executed well by the General.

Unfortunately, Powell subsequently made the mistake that his successor, General Schwarzkopf recognized and avoided; good generals are rarely good politicians (Ike excepted, in some minds).

He should have retired to his memoirs.

I doubt he believes what he said. This is about advancing Colin.

IMO Powell wants a big job, preferably in the administration. And only Obama and the Democrats can make that happen.

He is permanently distrusted by the GOP. For good reasons.

Or, failing an appointment by Obama. he would like to head an important university, think tank, or non-profit. Again that won´t happen if the Democrats oppose it.

So Colin now trashes the GOP every chance he gets and in any way he can.

It is way past time for the GOP to grow some spine bones and kick him out.

Talk racial angst being close to the surface!

Powell reminds me of this black kid (23 or so) waiting for the local library to open this morning. As soon as I walk up--old white guy in khakis and a dress shirt--he starts muttering to himself praising Obama for sticking it to those rich whites who need to be paying more taxes. Went back to my car to wait the few minutes for the place to open!
