NEW YORK – Ann Romney won’t be dancing her way to a mirror ball trophy anytime soon. Mitt Romney’s wife turned down a chance to be a contestant on the celebrity dance competition “Dancing With the Stars,” TMZ reported. After “seriously considering” the offer, the website reported Ann decided against appearing on the series. A rep for Romney confirmed to TMZ that the show was interested in the presidential candidate’s wife. "Ann Romney was approached, but she declined. She will not be appearing on ´Dancing with the Stars,´" the rep said. Last season, Ann Romney attended
Comments: That was a very wise move Mrs. Romney. You just know the Mooch would more than love to embarrass us if she was able to appear on that show.
Ann Romney is one class act. She has suffered through illness but I can´t imagine what it was like for her to watch the dishonest media and show biz lefties portray her brilliant and successful spouse as a caricature villian while we have them to thank for reflecting a vicious, inexpericed slime ball. She can find better things to do while this country falls apart deservedly so.
Great lady. I like her the best of just about all political wives.
Too smart to fall for this one. Sharp like her hubby.
Our nation needs Mitt. We just don´t have enough good people left to deserve him anymore. We got what our slugs deserve. An evil predator in the White House. The snake in the hen house, stealing the nest eggs. "Snakes on Air Force One!" Try that title, Hollywood.
Meanwhile... our nation will miss what could have been, Ann... And thank you!
Anne Romney has Multiple Sclerosis. The fact that she walks as well as she does with this disease is something of a miracle. This said, I wonder which idiot working for "Dancing with the Stars" would have asked her to appear, given her condition. Was this some kind of sick joke (on the part of an Obama supporter) or was the person just plain stupid?
And #3 your ´sacred underwear´ comment was just as tasteless. Proud?
Mrs. Romney definitely took the high road on this - what could those people with DWTS been thinking of. When this program first appeared on TV I watched once in a while - don´t think anyone who knows me would call me a prude, but the last time I saw it thought some costumes were way too skimpy and some of the moves much too suggestive.
Re #9, in times past I had a friend who was a marvelous ballroom dancer. He had MS. Because he loved dancing, and it was good for him, the only times he had to give it up were when he was going through a periodic weak spell. Low energy. Those who suffer from MS are not alike when it comes to their physical ability and activity.
Ann Romney is a very classy lady who should be about to move into the White House. Our electorate watches shows like Dancing With the Stars instead of paying attention to what is happening in our capitol and around the world.
I hope she urges her husband to become a spokesman for Truth and to speak up about our still incompetent and naive President who won reelection with lies, distortions, canards and mendacity. America needs someone to be the adult in the room to give our citizens the truth regularly. He needs to have his own show to let Americans know what needs to be done. We do not need Ann Romney acting like a Kardashian trying to be famous for being famous.
The picture of Ann with the article is so beautiful. It makes me even more depressed that she will not be our First Lady. As others here have said, she is a class lady. Mitt would have turned our country around, and with Ann at his side, grace and class would have returned to the WH.
In my bones, I don´t feel that God has finished with Mitt and Ann helping Him to restore our nation. I´m placing my faith in God - he knows better than I do what His plans for us are. God bless you, Ann and Mitt.
I really like what you said, #23. I don´t understand what happened in this election. The hurricane, which God could have prevented, was arguably the reason for the loss. Perhaps God was protecting the Romneys?
President Obama has recalled John Podesta to work at the White House as a “counselor.” Podesta is the Clinton hand who founded the far-left Center for American Progress (home of the clownish Think Progress blog). Podesta’s appointment, which needs no congressional approval, comes at a time when Obama is already making moves to do without Congress. He has used executive actions to re-write Obamacare, and to recalibrate immigration law, both in ways that just happen to favor either himself or the Democrats. The New York Times reports that Podesta will work on executive actions when he returns to the White
On CNN’s “Reliable Sources” on Sunday, new host Brian Stelter turned to President Obama the press critic. At the end of his cakewalk “Hardball” interview last week, Obama called out the media for being divisive. “The American people are good and they are decent. And yes, we get very divided partly because our politics and our media specifically tries to divide them and splinter them.” Stelter asked a decent question about whether that was an odd statement to make on divisive MSNBC. NPR television critic Eric Deggans shot that down, insisting MSNBC was a “great place” to attack cable news
Former CIA Director Leon Panetta revealed classified information at a 2011 awards ceremony attended by Zero Dark Thirty filmmaker Mark Boal, according to documents obtained by the conservative watchdog group Judicial Watch. The CIA allowed Boal, the screenwriter of Zero Dark Thirty, to attend a June 24, 2011 award ceremony celebrating the successful raid on Osama bin Laden’s hideout in Abbottabad, Pakistan that May. A transcript of Panetta’s speech that night obtained by Judicial Watch is labeled “top secret,” and significant portions of it are redacted. At the conclusion his speech, Panetta told the audience, “You have made me proud
UPDATE: Rep. Paul Ryan and Sen. Patty Murray unveiled a budget proposal Tuesday night. The proposal, which has yet to be voted on, busts through sequester caps, setting FY 2014 spending at $1.014 trillion — billions beyond the levels mandated by sequester. The proposal contains no mention of pension reform. Conservatives had better start paying attention to the budget battle raging in Washington: If things go south — and they are poised to do just that — the tea party’s single greatest policy victory, the sequester, could be destroyed. And worse yet, it could be destroyed in exchange for nothing. The sequester
Approval of ObamaCare in the United States has risen eight percentage points in the last month, according to a new poll. Thirty-nine percent of people now approve of the law, according to a CBS News/New York Times poll released Tuesday evening. Half of the public, by contrast, disapproves of ObamaCare, the poll found. Nearly 60 percent say they don’t think the sign-up process for ObamaCare is going well, but more than one-third say it’s improving. These figures come in just ten days after the administration touted the repaired federal portal for the insurance, HealthCare.gov. Obama’s general job approval rating has increased to 42 percent,
Rep. Karen Bass (D-Calif.), in an appearance on MSNBC´s "PoliticsNation" on Friday, condemned former Sen. Rick Santorum´s comments comparing Nelson Mandela´s fight against apartheid to the fight against Obamacare as "shameful." "And actually if I was going to make a comparison, I would make the opposite comparison, because I think the struggle for justice, which Nelson Mandela led for so many years is similar as the struggle for the health care as a right for people in the richest country in the world, and so the idea that they would make that comparison in the opposite way is just tragic,"
According to a new Rasmussen Report, the majority of Americans do not believe the deportation of illegal immigrants living in the United States is aggressive enough. More than 20 House Democrats last week urged President Obama to halt the deportation of illegal immigrants until Congress passes a comprehensive immigration reform plan, but voters by a two-to-one margin oppose that idea. Most already think the federal government is not vigilant enough in deporting those who are in this country illegally. Only 29% of Likely U.S. Voters think the government should stop deporting illegal immigrants until Congress passes an immigration reform plan.
On his way to the podium at the memorial ceremony for former South African president Nelson Mandela, President Obama walked down the line of dignitaries, greeting other leaders there to pay their respects. Among the hands shaken: that of Cuban leader Raul Castro. Obama neither made a special effort to shake Castro’s hand nor to avoid him. A snub might have been awkward: In his speech, Obama praised Mandela’s “greatest gift” as “his recognition that we are all bound together in ways that can be invisible to the eye; that there is a oneness to humanity; that we achieve ourselves by
The Obama State Department has finally released a second round of photos revealing the harrowing devastation wrought by a terrorist attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi on Sept. 11, 2012. The new photographs depict rampant damage to the consulate. They show charred walls, smoldering fires, Arabic graffiti defacing exterior walls, and scattered debris throughout. The extent of the damage would lead any reasonably serious person to conclude that this was a cold, calculated attack, carefully coordinated to mark the 11th anniversary of Sept. 11, 2001. Unfortunately for the American people, the Obama-Clinton-Rice cabal that led to the Benghazi cover-up was
A black fashion student says he was brutally attacked by a gang of Hasidic men who shouted anti-gay slurs at him while he was walking through Williamsburg after a night of partying, the Daily News has learned. Taj Patterson, 22, was headed home to Fort Greene around 4:30 a.m. on Dec. 1 when he says more than a dozen ultra-Orthodox Jewish men began assaulting him on Flushing Ave. and yelling, “Stay down, f----t!”
A “presidential selfie” featuring President Barack Obama, British Prime Minister David Cameron, and Denmark’s Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt at Nelson Mandela’s memorial service began making the rounds this morning, but it’s the person not included in the frame who caught everyone’s attention: As anyone with two eyes and a Twitter account has noticed, Michelle Obama does not appear amused. Of course, though a picture says a thousand words, not all of those words are necessarily true. FLOTUS might not have even known the photo was taking place. Or she could disapprove of funeral selfies. Either way.
Just how much do many Hollywood liberals hate conservatives? In an interview with Playboy, Ben Affleck said, "When I watch a guy [on film] I know is a big Republican, part of me thinks, I probably wouldn’t like this person if I met him": PLAYBOY: You developed a political profile campaigning for presidential candidates Al Gore, John Kerry and Barack Obama. How did that come about? AFFLECK: I grew up in a house with a mother who was a teacher and a Freedom Rider—very left-wing Democrats living in a heterogeneous working-class neighborhood. I picked up a lot of those values there, and I
MSNBC host Melissa Harris-Perry opened her program over the weekend with a commentary about the Affordable Care Act’s colloquial moniker: “Obamacare.” She said that the word was originally created as a “derogatory term,” designed by white men as a way to delegitimize President Barack Obama and his achievement. However, she said that the term will soon be synonymous with all of Obama’s accomplishments and she urged her audience to use the term with pride. “I want to talk today about a controversial word. It’s a word that has been with us for years, and like it or not, it’s indelibly
Barack Obama has arrived in South Africa to lead the American delegation at a memorial service for former South African President Nelson Mandela in Johannesburg. But his party is reportedly stuck in traffic and he is said to have arrived late at the stadium for the ceremony. [Snip] But Mr Clinton, Mr Carter and his wife Rosalynn have all traveled separately to the event. According to reports, Mr Obama and his delegation are stuck in a lines of traffic caused by tens of thousands of people making their way to the event. Mr Obama is among the foreign leaders who
