| Former President Bill Clinton made a surprise appearance at Sunday night’s Golden Globe Awards to introduce Steven Spielberg’s “Lincoln,” which was nominated for best dramatic film. Clinton received a raucous standing ovation from those attending the awards ceremony at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. “A tough fight to push a bill through a bitterly divided House of Representatives. Winning it required the president to make a lot of unsavory deals that had nothing to do with the big issue,” Clinton said. “I wouldn’t know anything about that,” Clinton added, eliciting laughter from the crowd.
|
Comments: As a film fan, Clinton sees himself as Lincoln. But history will hopefully see him moe truthfully as Harry Reems.

Kind of reminds me of that ancient Simpsons episode when Homer bowled a 300 game and just started showing up as a ´cameo celebrity´ anywhere he felt like it.
I was sick of Clinton over 20 years ago and I wish he would just go completely away...and take that miserable little peanut jerk with him, too.

Lessee... despite the fact that: he was run out of England with credible rape charges over his head; he has been accused of molestation [at the least] by several women; he was involved as Governor in sending contaminated blood from state inmates to Canada; he disgraced his office and committed as egregious an act of boss/employee whatever [feminists? where were you? where are you?] as ever occurred in the White House; he then repeatedly lied about his acts; he lost his law license for doing so under oath; he was impeached for same; we probably don´t know the whole story about Vince Foster; we probably don´t know the whole story about Ron Brown; he refused to act on bin Laden at least 3 times; and more; but "Clinton received a raucous standing ovation from those attending the awards ceremony at the Beverly Hilton Hotel."
So: any questions about Clinton? Hollywood? The image-worshiping Left?
No? No questions? OK.
#2: IIRC, and to our credit if this is correct, there are open warrants on Polanski.

I think you´ll see both Clintons making lots of appearances similar to this. They´re starting Hillary´s campaign for the idiot Obama voter. Look for weekly visits by Hillary to the View.

Former Florida governor Jeb Bush is tuning out the "chirpers" in the Republican Party -- the critics on his right who disagree with his push for a comprehensive immigration bill. If Bush decides on a 2016 White House bid, the son and brother of two presidents said in an interview this weekend that it will be a campaign based on his two terms as governor. "It will be based on what I believe and it will be based on my record," Bush told the Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN).

ROME — For years, perhaps even centuries, it has been an open secret in Rome: That some prelates in the Vatican hierarchy are gay. But the whispers were amplified this week when Pope Francis himself, in a private audience, appears to have acknowledged what he called a “gay lobby” operating inside the Vatican, vying for power and influence. The remarks — which the Vatican spokesman did not deny and the participants at the private audience confirmed — appeared to be part of an effort by the pope to take on the entrenched interests in the Vatican

MEDFORD, Mass. — JUNE 11, 1963, may not be a widely recognized date these days, but it might have been the single most important day in civil rights history. That morning, Gov. George Wallace, in an effort to block the integration of the University of Alabama, made his futile “stand at the schoolhouse door.” That evening, Boston N.A.A.C.P. leaders engaged in their first public confrontation with Louise Day Hicks, the chairwoman of the Boston School Committee, over de facto public school segregation, beginning a decade-long struggle that would boil over into spectacular violence during the early 1970s.

ALBANY, N.Y.— An abortion battle could be brewing in Albany, as Gov. Andrew Cuomo plans to propose a major change to abortion laws in New York State. CBS 2 has learned that Cuomo will introduce a bill on Tuesday that would allow abortions after 24 weeks of pregnancy to protect a woman’s health. The bill would fall in line with federal law. Currently, New York State only allows late-term abortions if a woman’s life is at risk. Planned Parenthood outlined a 2009 bill with reportedly similar goals. The 2009 Reproductive Health Act would “guarantee a woman

Violence surged like the mercury Sunday, with three more fatalities from gun violence — and eight others wounded in shootings — bringing the total number of bullet-riddled in the city to 25 in less than 48 hours. Only Staten Island was safe from the wide-ranging spray of gunfire and sickening weekend bloodshed. At least 12 people were blasted in Brooklyn, eight in the Bronx and another four in Queens. The sole person shot in Manhattan took several slugs to the chest and perished in broad daylight. Sunday’s first fatality was Ivan Martinez, 21, who

MACKINAC ISLAND, Mich. (AP) — Boosting education standards and crafting an immigration policy that recognizes the valuable role newcomers play in creating jobs is essential to long-term economic growth, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush said Wednesday. Speaking to Michigan business and government leaders on this Lake Huron resort island, Bush said the “right to rise” socially and economically is part of the fabric of American citizenship but has become frayed as too few students leave high school ready for college or a career. “We’re not rising to the challenge,” he said. “It is shameful. CHICAGO — Perhaps it is nothing more than an accident of timing that as federal workers brace for a summer filled with unpaid furlough days, their leaders are traveling the nation and globe on trips that exude luxury. On Wednesday, President Obama left the White House for two Chicago fund-raisers in the hope of helping Democrats retake the House in next year’s elections. The cost of flying aboard Air Force One to his hometown: $180,000 per hour. The same day, Michelle Obama traveled to Massachusetts to lunch with rich donors who had paid up to $37,600 per ticket

A group of whistleblowers, including a number of aviation experts, have come forward in a new documentary to claim that the official explanation for the crash of TWA Flight 800 was wrong and a gas tank explosion did not bring down the flight off the coast of Long Island 17 years ago. However, the six whistleblowers, all part of the original investigation team, stopped short of saying the plane was shot down. Flight 800, a Boeing 747, had just taken off from JFK airport with 230 people aboard on July 17, 1996 enroute to Paris when it exploded

An attorney whose firm represents two Benghazi whistleblowers said Gen. Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, lied to the Senate when he said there was never a “stand down” order during the Benghazi attack on Sept. 11, 2012. “What was fascinating is that he explained his lie to them,” Joe DiGenova, an attorney representing one of the whistleblowers, told CNSNews.com. “He actually said they were sent to Tripoli. They were needed in Benghazi,” said DiGenova, a former U.S. attorney, now with the Washington firm of DiGenova & Toensing.

Likening religious schools to segregation--a racist system that forced blacks to attend different schools and use different facilities than whites in the American South--President Barack Obama told a town hall meeting for youth in Belfast, Northern Ireland on Monday that there should not be Catholic and Protestant schools because such schools cause division. "Because issues like segregated schools and housing, lack of jobs and opportunity--symbols of history that are a source of pride for some and pain for others--these are not tangential to peace; they’re essential to it,"

Listening to Barack Obama give his speech in Belfast on Monday, it was hard not to stifle a yawn. I kept waiting for the part when he would say something interesting, but, about three quarters of the way through, realised it wasn’t going to come. Judging from television pictures some of his young audience felt the same, after the initial rush of euphoria of receiving the rock star president in their midst had passed. This is not surprising, for we had already heard this number about the inspirational role of the Northern Ireland peace process and the Emerald Isle’s

Celebrity chef Paula Deen admitted in a recorded deposition to telling racist jokes, using the N-word, and planning a slavery-themed wedding, according to multiple reports. The May 17 deposition where she made the alleged admissions is part of a $1.2 million lawsuit brought by Lisa Jackson, the former manager of a Savannah, Georgia, restaurant run by Deen and her brother Bubba Hiers. Jackson alleges in the suit that Deen used the N-word at the restaurant and that Hiers sexually harassed her. According to the reports, in the deposition, Deen replied “Yes, of course,”

Charlie Rose last night asked President Obama his new Syria policy. The president first objected to it being called a new policy. "I´m not sure you can characterize this as a new policy. This is consistent with the policy that I´ve had throughout," he said. Obama then explained the goal is regional stability, and especially in Syria. "Really, what we´re trying to do is take sides against extremists of all sorts and in favor of people who are in favor of moderation, tolerance, representative government, and over the long-term, stability and prosperity for the people of Syria," said Obama.

Marco Rubio. Paul Ryan. The IRS. Illegal immigration. And fraud to the tune of billions.. Now there’s a combustible mix. Let’s start with the IRS, illegal immigration and fraud. We’ll come back in a minute to Senator Rubio and Congressman Ryan. For those who came in late, a year before the IRS scandals burst onto the scene in early May of 2013, an alert investigative reporter for WTHR-Indianapolis (Channel 13), Bob Segall by name, produced a stunning piece of journalism. Segall’s video report is found here and we will quote from his story for the basics.
