Despite having said here many times that arguing logically with hoplophobes [and of course race-baiters] is a Fool´s Errand, and I still hold that position, I´ll offer some stats to make sure a few facts are on the table. Exact numbers may vary, but are close, as it´s all from memory.

One black male in three will have a felony conviction during his life.

An identifiable group, young black males, comprising about 1.5% of the population of the country, is responsible for about 52% of all murders. 52% of all murders. Think about it -- if we found that, for purposes of this discussion, 1.5% of our population was immigrants from, oh, Madagascar,but committed 52% of all murders, would we have acted regarding that group? Hardly needs to be asked, does it?

Some 70% of all the counties in America had no murders last year. Didn´t know that one, didja? Surprised you, too, didn´t it?

We know the facts. We know the sources of the violence [more than just the numbers I mention, but the sick sub-culture behind them]. We know effective steps to take. We know there are far too many innocent victims. We know that honest taxpayers are being grotesquely put-upon as victims and with the huge costs of dealing with and not dealing with crime.

We had better start doing the right things in response, and soon.

b. I flatly stated in #35 that the numbers were from memory; further, academic citations are absent from essentially all posts on this site; last, running down sources is easier today than ever before if important to a reader.
c. #35 neither suggested nor proposed anything "be done with" 35 million black Americans, nor that anything should be. From #35: "An identifiable group... comprising about 1.5% of the population of the country, is responsible...." That´s a pretty clear statement that the perps are the problem, IMHO. #35 also pointedly mentions the contributory "sick sub-culture." That´s also clear reference to perps, particularly as those familiar with my posts know I don´t traffic in code words. #35 can and does make its points directly, as usual.
