| Fort Lee — Last year saw the highest number of suicide attempts ever on the George Washington Bridge, The New York Post reports. There were 43 suicide attempts along the bridge´s span in 2012 — 18 of them resulting in death. That´s nearly four times as many deaths as the five recorded in 2011 and more than the previous worst year, 2010, which saw 13. The Post reports that Port Authority police intensified patrols on the bridge after a spate of attempts in May. Sad story, but with no agenda to push, article is presented as straight news.
Can´t blame gun control, because people use whatever is at hand. Can´t blame the lousy economy caused by the Dear Leader they helped install. Can´t blame global warming, because that´s supposed to make water levels rise, making the drop that much less deadly.

Almost 400% more than the number of persons killed through the use of a rifle in New York State last year.
No one needs a bridge that high. A pontoon bridge would be much safer. Of course, the "Big Ship" lobby extremists oppose such an option. If it means one more person is saved, I am all for it, and I am SURE the Governor would be for it as well.

Even sadder is Cuomo and New York State are going after the deads´ estates for unpaid tolls and accompanying fines for failure to pay for the privilege of jumping off the bridge.

Obviously an "assault bridge". Did it have a 20 round magazine, a pistol grip or a flash supressor. Also where is global warming when you need it, raising the water level would have resulted in nothing more than a bath, which a lot of them probably needed.

Inspector General Russell George said he informed a deputy at the Treasury Department in June of 2012 about the probe into the IRS.
