| WASHINGTON President Barack Obama will hold the last news conference of his first term at the White House Monday morning. Officials say Obama will take questions in the White House East Room at 11:15 a.m. EST. The event comes one week before the president´s ceremonial swearing-in and inaugural address for a second term. Among the issues the president is expected to address Monday are looming fiscal fights with Congress, particularly over raising the nation´s debt limit, and his administration´s efforts to curb gun violence. The president is expected to receive a report on Tuesday from Vice President Joe Biden,

Reasons for press conference:
A. To have the AP´s senior WH correspondent provide Obama with simple question that allows him to lavish praise upon himself. Obama will point out his first fours years met every expectation, achieved every objective. "Yet, I still have things to accomplish during my time on earth." Or, simply, I, I, I, me, I, I, I, and I. Sets stage by showing that Obama is perfection personified.
B. To take question from NY Times reporter on how he intends to deal with obstinate Republicans over raising deficit ceiling.
C. To field NBC reporter´s question on whether Obama believes GOP are racists for questioning Hagel, Lew and Brennan nominations. Spurious issue raised by Colin Powell was a WH set-up.
There will be no questions on Benghazi, Syria, Egypt, costs of ObamaCare, low economic growth, black or youth unemployment, Fast & Furious or his AG who is still under Congressional contempt order for F&F.

Questions will be carefully pre-screened, if allowed at all - responses will not answer the question asked but divert to other issues. But what can you expect from a president who is dependent on a teleprompter?

Instead of saying "the last news conference," AP should be noting how many months since the last one, and how few news conferences Obama has had at all. Even then, he almost never takes questions during the news conference.

he has yet to hold a press conference that you could pay me to listen to. Why can´t they just air him on C-Span or something and leave network programming alone?

He just finished explaining his final position and his disgust for the evil Republicans who are ´holding a gun to the heads of the American people´.
He really said that.
The microphones were confiscated after each question. All followups were inaudible.
Schmucks.

EXCLUSIVE: In the hallowed halls of Columbia University, a nest of ex-cons — who have served time for murder, attempted murder, robbery and assault — hold court on their unique brand of social justice for admiring students enrolled in the school´s social work program, a FoxNews.com investigation has found. The ex-cons work for or with the Criminal Justice Initiative (CJI), co-founded in 2009 by former Weather Underground operative and Columbia adjunct professor Kathy Boudin, who pleaded guilty to felony murder for her role in an infamous 1981 armed robbery that left two police officers and a security guard dead.

On Rush Limbaugh’s radio show this afternoon, Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, denounced the Gang of Eight immigration reform bill, encouraging his audience to call their member of Congress to oppose the bill. Cruz noted there were about 20 Republican Senators that were on the fence about voting for the bill, but that he believed that it was “politically foolish” and “terrible for the country.” “It doesn’t fix the problem,” Cruz said. “We need to fix the problem, secure the borders and improve legal immigration.” Cruz dismissed the Congressional Budget Office report showing that the bill would actually decrease federal

President Obama´s visit to the Group of Eight summit has created a political row in Ireland after an outspoken liberal lawmaker on Wednesday denounced the U.S. president as a “war criminal” for his drone use and his decision to arm the Syrian rebels. Parliamentarian Clare Daly said her country´s government had showcased the country “as a nation of pimps, prostituting ourselves in return for a pat on the head,” The Irish Times reports. The “unprecedented slobbering” during Obama´s two-day visit to Northern Ireland, she said, had even led to speculation that “you were going to deck the

WASHINGTON — The CEO of the Associated Press told an audience Wednesday that the Department of Justice has succeeded in muzzling government employees from talking to AP reporters in the weeks since the seizure of AP phone records was revealed. “What I learned from our journalists should alarm everyone in this room and I think should alarm everyone in this country. The actions of the DOJ against AP are already having an impact beyond the specifics of this particular case,” AP CEO

Billionaire businessman Ronald Perelman has helped land the wife of Republican House Majority Leader Eric Cantor on the board of directors of Revlon—the latest politically connected appointment to the board of a company he controls. Perelman, 70, has been a political player for decades. He dishes out large campaign checks. He employs a team of lobbyists to patrol the nation’s capital to protect his business interests. And he has ensured that a steady stream of political elites land on the payrolls or boards of directors of his businesses. Among the political bold-named faces that have filled

President Obama on Tuesday downplayed Afghan President Hamid Karzai’s decision to suspend talks on a long-term security deal with the U.S. in protest of the launch of formal peace talks with the Taliban. Karzai also pulled out of peace talks with the Taliban the Obama administration agreed to hold in Qatar, which are to begin Thursday. Obama said his administration had always anticipated "difficult negotiations." "We had extensive conversations with President Karzai both before and after the Taliban opened the office in Doha," Obama told reporters at a joint press conference in Berlin with German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

It probably wouldn´t have shocked political observers if Sen. Marco Rubio´s job approval ratings had taken a hit since becoming the Republican face of comprehensive immigration reform earlier this year. But the Florida Republican´s numbers in his home state are actually close to their best ever, according to a new Quinnipiac University poll released on Wednesday, though the senator did get low marks from voters for his handling of both immigration and gun control. Rubio had a job approval rating of 51 percent to 35 percent, the survey of registered voters found.

A group of whistleblowers, including a number of aviation experts, have come forward in a new documentary to claim that the official explanation for the crash of TWA Flight 800 was wrong and a gas tank explosion did not bring down the flight off the coast of Long Island 17 years ago. However, the six whistleblowers, all part of the original investigation team, stopped short of saying the plane was shot down. Flight 800, a Boeing 747, had just taken off from JFK airport with 230 people aboard on July 17, 1996 enroute to Paris when it exploded

An attorney whose firm represents two Benghazi whistleblowers said Gen. Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, lied to the Senate when he said there was never a “stand down” order during the Benghazi attack on Sept. 11, 2012. “What was fascinating is that he explained his lie to them,” Joe DiGenova, an attorney representing one of the whistleblowers, told CNSNews.com. “He actually said they were sent to Tripoli. They were needed in Benghazi,” said DiGenova, a former U.S. attorney, now with the Washington firm of DiGenova & Toensing.

Amid a steady rise of backlash, Edward Snowden, the 29-year-old former National Security Agency contractor who was the source of a spring of leaks about the agency´s surveillance methods, conducted a live chat on The Guardian´s website Monday morning. Judging from some of the pointed questions he´s been asked and the reaction to newly leaked revelations over the past few days, it´s clear that much of the sympathy and support Snowden had built up for his early exposures is eroding. Many Americans supported his decision to leak information about a pair of National Security Agency surveillance programs, which, he detailed, gathered information

Charlie Rose last night asked President Obama his new Syria policy. The president first objected to it being called a new policy. "I´m not sure you can characterize this as a new policy. This is consistent with the policy that I´ve had throughout," he said. Obama then explained the goal is regional stability, and especially in Syria. "Really, what we´re trying to do is take sides against extremists of all sorts and in favor of people who are in favor of moderation, tolerance, representative government, and over the long-term, stability and prosperity for the people of Syria," said Obama.

Marco Rubio. Paul Ryan. The IRS. Illegal immigration. And fraud to the tune of billions.. Now there’s a combustible mix. Let’s start with the IRS, illegal immigration and fraud. We’ll come back in a minute to Senator Rubio and Congressman Ryan. For those who came in late, a year before the IRS scandals burst onto the scene in early May of 2013, an alert investigative reporter for WTHR-Indianapolis (Channel 13), Bob Segall by name, produced a stunning piece of journalism. Segall’s video report is found here and we will quote from his story for the basics.

Listening to Barack Obama give his speech in Belfast on Monday, it was hard not to stifle a yawn. I kept waiting for the part when he would say something interesting, but, about three quarters of the way through, realised it wasn’t going to come. Judging from television pictures some of his young audience felt the same, after the initial rush of euphoria of receiving the rock star president in their midst had passed. This is not surprising, for we had already heard this number about the inspirational role of the Northern Ireland peace process and the Emerald Isle’s
