Oh those racist Republicans.  Did you know that they´re hostile to Colin Powell because he´s black? Yup, just ask former Obama car czar Steve Rattner.  The Morning Joe regular today claimed that poor Powell "feels this hostility toward him from the rest of the party in part because he´s a minority." Really?  Colin Powell feels hostility from "the rest of the party" because he´s a minority?  The Colin Powell for whom so many in the GOP were clamoring to run for president in 1995-96?  The Powell who actually won the 1996

This is on Scarborough´s show. Just a couple of weeks ago, Scarborough claimed he doesn´t watch MSNBC after 9 am. Yet he allows blatant race baiting on his own show.

Wow. Just think how unfulfilled the Left would be if the world was inhabited only by light skinned people.

If privileged Colin, elevated by the GOP to near-presidential status, is feeling hostility it is because he has gone over to the other side. He may have done that because he is black. But to those betrayed, his being a traitor to a cause - his using for political power a cause he really didn´t believe in and support and torpedoing it at every turn - has nothing to do with his skin color.

Search your own soul, Colin. The answer is in you, not us.

The fact that bowell stood silently by while Scooter Libby was maliciously prosecuted by Fitsgerald surely did not have any bearing on our dislike and distrust for bowell!

how convenient to have an excuse to fall back on whenever faced with opposition.

How pathetic for grown man, who has had so many advantages in his life time to revert to such common excuse.

I feel hostility toward Powell because he is behaving stupidly. Thank you Rattner (great name btw) for pointing out that Powell is black, are we supposed to cut him some slack for that?

Powell is an anti-semite. Picture is worth a thousand words.

(Dear Lucianne Staff: I kindly request that this forum consider posting one of the two (or both) photographs linked above on the Home Page in the next few days. I think it´s more than relevent considering Powell´s recent insertion into this debate. Thank you...)

How is it the GOP´s fault that Powell feels that way? Can anyone control how someone else "feels"?

It seems more like Powell is suffering from paranoia or VWRC delusion.

Years ago...I wanted Gen. Colin Powell to be elected US President on a Republican ticket since I felt he really was a moderate Republican. Now I feel like he wasn´t who he said he was...since he has vigorously supported Obama-Biden´s election and then re-election.President Obama is a radicalized progressive leftist liberal that says he is a Democrat but really a far-left social-democrat at that.

he hates whites and himself because deep down inside he knows he only rose so high because of his color and affirmative action. if he had been allowed to rise based on color blind ability he would not have this buried self hate.

Powell was the worst SOS ever to preside over Foggy Bottom.

He slow-walked President Bush´s drive for a UN vote on declaring Iraq in violation (for the umpteenth time) of the terms of the truce following the Iraq War I.

He chased after the chimera of France´s hints of a favorable vote to no avail, losing many months which allowed Hussein (their Hussein, not ours) to ship incriminating materiel to Syria.

He didn´t lift a finger to cajole Turkey into allowing our 4th Mechanized Division to invade Iraq from their territory on the northern border of Iraq, creating a lightning-fast pincer movement.

He bears primary responsibility for the agonizing slow conclusion of our Iraq campaign.

Powell is just one more reason to prove the country is lost. When an affirmative action, politically correct and nuanced person is appointed as General by congress, the Pentagon will not hesitate to order US troops to fire upon US citizens and civilians.

I don´t suppose giving his full boot licking support to an undocumented domestic enemy in the White House would cause any hostility. Instead we should applause the Presidents efforts to disarm us, bankrupt us and hollow out our military, empty what´s left of our treasury for redistribution to his corrupt supporters and turn our children into tax slaves. In other words we should all become Pro Obama anti American democrat zombies like 99% of Colin Powell´s people.

It looks like powell has some deep seated resentment because of being advanced by his skin color rather than his character or abilities. He should be smart enough to realize the source of his discontent lies within the purvue of his newly adopted political party, not the GOP.

No Colon (intentional misprint), we don´t like you because you´re an Uncle Tom for your race and, like the old Yellow Dog Democrats, would vote for a Black Dog Liberal no matter what his ideology, just because he is black.

Colin Powell is a liberal with combat ribbons, an opportunist who doesn´t know his curtain came down an eon ago and who won´t get off the stage.

No one except the MSM is interested in his opinion any more but he thinks the country is still blinded by his competence as a military man, which is lately in question.

Obama can´t run again and the dems don´t have a viable black to take his place. So Powell is setting the stage to leave the ´racist´ Repub party and declare himself a dem. The msm will pick up on this and float his name for pres. The low info dems won´t even know he was a turncoat repub and vote for him same way as they voted for obama.

The political left is despicable. They lie, cheat and steal in order to get elected. Impugning the reputation of their opposition is their speciality. In my experience as a Republican who has attended all types of meetings of like minded folks, there has not been racism amongst them. The main priority of Republicans now is to return to fiscal responsibility and the rule of law (the Constitution). The LEFT has no shame; the ends justify the means ala Karl Marx; despicable isn´t a strong enough word for them.

The TCM (Turner Classic Movies) cable channel celebrated its twentieth anniversary yesterday. It did so in grand style, rebroadcasting movies from its first day on the air (Gone With the Wind and It Happened One Night). After GWTW, TCM broadcast an interesting interview with host-for-life Robert Osborne conducted by Alec Baldwin. I have been a high volume consumer of TCF roughly since day one. I am a little vague on Ted Turner’s acquisition of the rights to just about every worthwhile movie ever made, but with TCM, he is putting them to good — even ingenious — use. The films

Authorities said Monday that a pair of sex offenders suspected of raping and murdering at least four women probably wore their court-ordered GPS devices during the crimes. Franc Cano, 27, and Steven Dean Gordon, 45, had been required to wear the devices after serving time in prison for sexually assaulting a child under the age of 14. Police on Monday also said that they are now “confident” that there is a fifth victim -- and perhaps more -- in a string of slayings that has been tied to a pair of registered sex offenders. The men were formally Monday charged

Some time back, whenever a big racial controversy erupted, I trained myself into the habit of reading about it at FoxNews.com, just for the unbelievable comment threads. Let’s put it this way: If my friends and I went out to a bar and started playing a “let’s write the racist FoxNews.com comment thread” drinking game, our efforts couldn’t begin to approach what I read there.I wasn’t alone. Liberal websites started feasting on these threads. And so, a couple of years ago, Ailes & Co. got wise. Stories about race were, at least in my disheartened experience, closed to comments.

The most decadent Beltway publication yet conceived, Washingtonian, has outdone itself with its latest celebration of what life is like inside the city fueled by your forcibly confiscated money. The publication recently ran with a profile of White House Press Sec. Jay Carney‘s wife, ABC News personality and working mom Claire Shipman. Carney’s two beautiful children are also profiled in the piece, but the profile itself is largely irrelevant. What is worthy of dissection are the three featured images that add value to the profile. And by “value,” we mean guffaws galore.

The chairman of the House Committee on Veterans Affairs said Wednesday that dozens of VA hospital patients in Phoenix may have died while awaiting medical care. Rep. "It appears as though there could be as many as 40 veterans whose deaths could be related to delays in care," Miller announced to a stunned audience during a committee hearing Wednesday. President Obama inspired a generation of young people to support his historic election in 2008. But the man who once dreamed of being a transformative leader in the Reagan mold is inspiring few of those young people to follow his lead. Although the Civil Rights Act, the landmark legislation which just reached its 50th anniversary, made great strides in desegregating the economy, economic discrimination is still widespread, and anti-discrimination legislation alone can never rectify the economic damage inflicted upon blacks by slavery and our Jim Crow apartheid regime. The Civil Rights Act was a mild reform, all things considered, but one conservatives fought with vigor and one many conservatives are still bitter about to this day. When the Civil Rights Act passed in 1964, the primary purpose was to root out discrimination in public accommodations (like hotels and movie theaters)
