| They say it´s a story of survival. Protect yourself and what´s yours by whatever means necessary. “It´s either kill or be killed,” said Eric Anderson, 18. “It´s playin´ for keeps. You gotta live like this.” Mr. Anderson was one of 199 people in Toledo who were shot in 2012, down slightly from the 210 reported shootings the year prior, but still a dramatic increase from 121 shootings in 2010, the first year the Toledo Police Department started keeping track of such statistics.

Yet, what we need is to ban assault rifles and high capacity magazines purchased by law abiding citizens.

lol..They´ve only been keeping stats for 3 years and are claiming to make inroads.It´s probably nothing more than random chance it went down last yer.

Detroit..writ small. Same graffiti, same abandoned houses, same thugs on the streets, same Unions controlling the same shrinking job base, same "white-flight" to the suburbs, same political Party/players for the last 20yrs.

Mt. Vernon, Wash. - The trucker was hauling a load of drilling equipment when his load bumped against the steel framework over an Interstate 5 bridge. Five or six years ago a distinguished writer-director (if I may be permitted the epithet in connection with a Hollywood personage) was co-author of a screen play nominated for an Academy Award. He was too nervous to attend the proceedings on the big night, so he was listening to a broadcast at home, pacing the floor tensely, chewing his fingers, taking long breaths, scowling and debating with himself in hoarse whispers whether to stick it out until the Oscars were announced, or turn the damned radio off and read about it in the papers the next morning.

At a campaign rally for President Barack Obama yesterday in Virginia, former President Bill Clinton talked about bringing "this country together" and crossing "all of its diversity." Then, Clinton added this: "One of the things the decider-in-chief has to do is decide whether he’s going to bring this country together across all its diversity or let it drift apart. The Boy Scouts of America (BSA) have reversed their longstanding membership guidelines to allow homosexuals to join the organization. In an email to CNSNews.com, the BSA public affairs office said the vote on the resolution to “remove the restriction denying membership to youth on the basis of sexual orientation alone” was passed with 61.44 percent in favor and 38.56 percent opposed. “For 103 years, the Boy Scouts of America has been a part of the fabric of this nation, with a focus on working together to deliver the nation’s foremost youth program of character development and values-based leadership training,”

Abuse Of Power: Any scandal investigation that expects a "Eureka!" moment, a White House e-mail, or Oval Office smoking gun will be misguided. In fact, the dots are already connected directly to the president. Barack Obama is not foolish enough to have a tape recording system hidden in his desk. And his administration staff are not careless enough to send one another incriminating e-mails. If the president was behind the IRS unlawfully harassing conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status, we can be sure the communications were all sotto voce and in persona, like any good Chicago political operator.

The murder of a soldier in south London on Wednesday has prompted fears of a backlash against British Muslims after the English Defence League staged an impromptu rally in the capital and two mosques were attacked.
