People are doing common sense things instead of waiting for Obama´s decrees from way on high. You have to fight fire with fire.
School districts that insist on gun free zones are opening themselves up to liability lawsuits.

i can see no downside to affording teachers the opportunity to have gun and gun safety classes. not only will it send the message that teachers are not easy unarmed victims, but the thought of all those liberal anti gun pacifists getting some actual hands-on training that will go against their kumbaya indoctrination is just delicious.

These shooters don´t often get close enough to anyone to be disarmed. I understand the reluctance of having a deadly weapon in the principal´s locked desk drawer, but how about a stun gun. Or a smoke canister like the police use to overwhelm the people in a house.
Must the children line up like ducks at the fair to be shot?

Geesh. I´ve never read so many whiney cry baby excuses as I´ve read in various articles on protecting children. What if...what if...what if. Simple solution, take the names and addresses of all those parents who do not want guns in their schools. When an evil person shoots up the school and kills their kid, those parents should immediately be charged with assessory to murder.
Go ahead and advertise to the nutjobs that your school is unprotected and massacre the place. That may sound extreme to some but what else do you call it?

How many teachers would you trust with a firearm around your child? I´ve known three in my entire life. The rest would increase the danger to our children and might actually become it themselves.

Good idea. Even if they do not have a weapon, the abilty to disarm and to shoot a weapon that they might ´happen upon´ makes them safer and more capable. Teachers with CCW permits and their own guns can be very effective.
Israel issues REAL assault weapons (machine guns) to teachers when they escort student groups on field trips. I believe all Israelis (men and women) are military trained, so they would know how to use them effectively.
Maybe a requirement to be a teacher should be basic rifle and pistol training?

Treasury Secretary Jack Lew on Friday urged congressional leaders to raise the debt limit and insisted that the White House is not going to negotiate over the increase because lawmakers have "no choice." "We will not negotiate over the debt limit," Lew wrote. "The creditworthiness of the United States is non-negotiable. The question of whether the country must pay obligations it has already incurred is not open to debate." The lawmaker leading the charge to investigate the Benghazi terror attack on Friday subpoenaed the co-author of a report that slammed the State Department but didn´t interview Hillary Clinton. House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) formally demanded that retired ambassador Thomas Pickering submit to being deposed by the committee next Thursday. The subpoena comes in the wake of a series of acrimonious public exchanges this week between the two men. Issa didn´t issue a subpoena to former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Michael Mullen, who co-authored the Benghazi report with Pickering.
