Biden´s day dawns
The Hill (DC), by A.B. Stoddard

Original Article

Posted By:StormCnter, 1/13/2013 5:55:32 AM

Ever the bridesmaid, Vice President Biden has suddenly blossomed into a bride. After four years in the White House and 36 years in the Senate, Biden — at age 70 — has finally graduated from sideshow to statesman, becoming his party’s most capable (perhaps sole) Mr. Fix-It and suddenly a serious presidential contender. True, it still makes you giggle. Even a year ago, the idea of Biden running in 2016 was a side-splitter. But now, if Hillary Clinton chooses not to, it’s hard to imagine why the Democratic nomination won’t belong to Biden if he wants it.

Here´s a good laugh to start your day. Biden is now the best the democrats have to offer? Time was once when the VP was someone, by necessity, that you could be reasonably confident could step up to the plate and assume the Presidency should the need arise. But this guy gives clowns a bad name. And all the fawning and gushing media articles isn´t going to change that.

And as far as 2016 goes, if you think the country couldn´t do any worse than Obama, you might be right. But Biden is NOT a step up. He´s a step sideways.

I don´t agree with this crazy conclusion in the least. The only reason Biden´s getting any notoriety is because Obama is too sorry a president to deal with face to face issues. Biden is a useful idiot Obama is using to fill his personal lack of leadership void.

In today´s world I would take Biden over Obama any day but in an open election, that´s pure insanity.

Biden´s a political chameleon adapting to current circumstances and towing the line of his hapless boss.Nobody know what kind of cocoction Biden would make as a free standing candidate.

This plagiarist twit is NOT a statesman and never will be. A statesman is concerned about the next generation, while a politician is only concerned about the next election.

Biden is nothing but a lying political hack who only cares about his own skin and how he can help the Muslim pResident dismantle America.

He has a "D" after his name. That´s all that matters to most voters.

A.B. is nuttier than I thought she was. And after watching her clutter up Bret Baier´s panel for months, that was pretty nutty.

Biden is Obie´s stooge. Another "beard". An old "establishment" white guy Dem who can be handed the tasks that have low success rate potential. Like gun control. Biden can be counted on to draw media publicity, stomp around, bluff and bluster, and when the task fizzles, it´s Biden´s fail (if there is one) and Obie´s gold star if perchance it works out successfully.

If Hillary and Biden are all the Dems have now they are in poor shape indeed. I guess the Democrats assume they now have such a demographic edge that they can just appoint whom ever they want to be POTUS. Let´s hope that ain´t true.

AB, get some self respect. Every time I see her on the Fox all-star panel stick her arrogant nose in the air and spout a nasal toned monotoned pronouncement, I roll my eyes. It´s obvious that she irks Dr. K.

Fox, please give this woman the hook.

Nope. The dems´ presidential nominee in 2016 will be . . . Michelle Obama. That´s how Obie gets his third term. Like Pa and Ma Ferguson here in Texas.

I have long thought Obama selected Biden as his running mate as "insurance" against his own impeachment or assassination.
Biden has a room temperature IQ

By 2016 Michelle will have been given so many imaginary qualifications, puffed up and glorified, that she will be a shoo in. Glamorous black woman, descendant of slaves and wise mother figure to the grateful nation bla bla bla. They tried to pull that with Hillary too. What a joke she turned out to be.

Reply 14 - Posted by: DARling, 1/13/2013 10:42:39 AM     (No. 9114001)

Obama has to be a really awful "statesman" and politician to let Biden handle anything. More likely, if Biden had been a failure, it would have been Biden´s problem, not Obama´s. Just like Obama can go to to New Jersey, hug Christie, and then all of the flooding and fire damage was suddenly fixed, as far as the press and electorate was concerned.

Must agree with everything #5 and #9 said.

Although you would have to be a no-information voter to not realize that they are pushing crazy Biden for 2016. It´s just sick.

Remember, #11, that Pa was impeached as governor. Yes, Ma followed him into the Governor´s Mansion later, but we can only wish for impeachment of Michelle´s husband.

Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) on Thursday said the House won't pick up the Senate immigration bill and pass it. "The House remains committed to fixing our broken immigration system, but we will not simply take up and accept the bill that is emerging in the Senate if it passes," said the statement from Boehner, his top three lieutenants and Rep. Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.), the chairman of the Judiciary Committee, which has jurisdiction on immigration. "The House remains committed to fixing our broken immigration system, but we will not simply take up and accept the bill that is emerging in the Senate if it passes," the statement said. President Obama offers only weasel words to explain deaths in Libya and IRS abuses. He’s the master of verbal evasion. House Republicans need to replace debate with action to hold the president accountable on these issues. To get to the bottom of why four Americans died in Benghazi, Libya on September 11, 2012, House Republicans should issue a formal resolution demanding to know where the president was on the night September 11 and what role he played. Obama needs to be put on the hot seat. Benghazi- For eight months, the White House has maneuvered

Much has been written and said about the astoundingly tone deaf performance of White House spokesman Jay Carney during this past month of scandals. The former journalist has lost the confidence of the people who were once his colleagues due to his unwillingness to tell the truth about his own deceptive statements (never mind those he represents in front of the press) about the Benghazi talking points or even to acknowledge that he has changed his story. The same applies to the shifting story he has told about the Internal Revenue Service scandal

A nonprofit connected to Rep. Corrine Brown (D., Fla.) and run by a local political power player overbilled Medicaid by nearly $1.4 million, the Florida Times-Union reported. According to an audit by the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration, the Community Rehabilitation Center in Jacksonville overbilled Medicaid by nearly $1.4 million. Reggie Gaffney, a former Jacksonville Port Authority board member, runs the nonprofit, which provides medical services for mental illness, substance abuse, and HIV/AIDS for low-income residents. Former Cambridge neighbors of a Russian mixed martial arts brawler shot dead by an FBI agent early yesterday in Florida — after ?being questioned about his ties to the marathon bombing and a Waltham triple murder — said he was nasty. Ibragim Todashev, 27, also hung around with slain marathon bombing mastermind Tamerlan Tsarnaev, 26 — swilling beer and eating chicken on a stoop on Harding Street, they said. “I was the happiest person when they moved. ... It’s a little more peaceful since they left,” a neighbor told the Herald yesterday of the Russian buddies.

The 2012 election season was filled with angry cries of “voter suppression,” almost all of them regarding attempts by states to require voter ID and otherwise improve ballot integrity. Bill Clinton warned that “there has never been — in my lifetime, since we got rid of the poll tax and all the other Jim Crow burdens on voting — the determined effort to limit the franchise that we see today.” Democratic-party chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz said “photo-ID laws, we think, are very similar to a poll tax.” All of this proved to be twaddle.

The Justice Department’s secret seizure of phone records from The Associated Press and its monitoring of Fox News reporter James Rosen are nothing less than thuggish attempts to criminalize the practice of journalism — the only profession specifically protected by the US Constitution. Free and open inquiry is also the cornerstone of our democracy, a legacy of the Enlightenment that found its clearest expression in the First Amendment: “Congress shall make no law . . . abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press.” By which the Founders specifically meant political speech. They understood that, even with the checks and balances

Former Rep. Anthony Weiner, whose career in public life came to an abrupt end when he sent lewd pictures to a college student on Twitter, jumped back into politics on Wednesday by announcing a bid for mayor of New York City. “Look, I’ve made some big mistakes and I know I’ve let a lot of people down,” the Democrat said in a 2-minute video announcing his bid. “But I’ve also learned some tough lessons. I’m running for mayor because I’ve been fighting for the middle class and those struggling to make it for my entire life.

The dam protecting the IRS scandal began to crack today when Lois Lerner, the IRS official who announced, and apologized for, the improper singling out of conservative-leaning organizations by IRS employees under her command, announced through her criminal defense lawyer that she will not testify as scheduled tomorrow before the House Oversight Committee. Rather, she will assert her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination. This marks an enormous milestone in the IRS investigation. It can now be taken as more or less established that crimes were committed by Obama administration employees. Lerner’s lawyer tried to minimize the significance

The public got its first look Thursday at Lois Lerner, who has gone from faceless IRS bureaucrat to the face that launched what feels like 1,000 congressional hearings and conspiracy theories. But it was only a brief sighting since she didn´t stay long at a House hearing to further probe her role in how some IRS workers came to target conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status. (Snip)She did make a short statement to declare her innocence, however. Lerner´s motivation was more transparent than much of what the IRS has done in connection with this controversy. When you get right down to it, the political targeting and stalling of tax-exempt applications by the IRS was an effort to defund the Tea Party. Rick Santelli, one of the Tea Party founders and my CNBC colleague, was the first to make this point. I’ve taken it a step further: The IRS was taking the Tea Party out of play for the 2012 election, as it looked to avoid a repeat of 2010 and another Tea Party landslide. There are a lot of numbers out there.

House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa said embattled IRS official Lois Lerner waived her Fifth Amendment rights and will be hauled back to appear before his panel again. The California Republican said Lerner’s Fifth Amendment right to avoid self-incrimination was voided when she gave an opening statement this morning denying any wrongdoing and professing pride in her government service. “When I asked her her questions from the very beginning, I did so so she could assert her rights prior to any statement,” Issa told POLITICO. “She chose not to do so — so she waived.”
