A gun-carrying grandmother in Milwaukee foiled an attempted robbery when she pulled a firearm on the suspect as he grabbed for her grocery store cash register. Ernestine Aldana, 48, was behind the counter at the San Ignacio Market when a man in a dark hat pulled a knife on her and attempted to rob the store register, police said. Aldana pulled a handgun from behind the counter on the man, causing him to flee. “All I remember is being scared,” Aldana told ABC News. “I believe if I would have had my finger on the trigger I would have shot, thank god it actually didn’t come to that,

Comments:
Video included. Unfortuntely it would appear that the perp got away with some ca$h. Could have been much worse though. Nice going Ms Aldana.

FTA...Aldana added that she is now skeptical of restrictions on gun ownership. “[The gun] saved my life,” she said.
Good for you Ms. Aldana.

Ms. Aldana is safe and I am so glad. THIS is the kind of woman the media needs to call a heroine. But, oops, won´t happen.

The only thing that stops a criminal with a weapon is another weapon - gun, knife, baseball bat, etc. A gun tumps everything, so stock up.

Is there any safe place in this God-less society we call Obamaland? America has denied God´s Word to be our authority and in so doing have given Satan full reign in this country that was founded on God´s Word by men who knew that only His Word was truth and able to proclaim our dependence upon God Himself, the One who established America!

God bless this Grandma who stands for what made this country great - integrity.

It is not guns that are the problem, but the "holder" of the guns, most without a good conscience that would prevent them from robbing/taking lives/living the entitlement agenda - everything belongs to them!

Hey Obama, mark another one for "the Good Guys"! Now this is a very simplistIc and parochial example (even for Dumbs and Libs with concrete filled skulls) to understand. She exercised both effective gun control and gun safety!!!

SAN FRANCISCO - The African lion that killed a California wildlife sanctuary worker had slipped out of its holding pen, which apparently was left improperly secured, and crept up on the woman inside a larger enclosure to attack her, the coroner said on Friday. (snip) Hanson was cleaning the larger enclosure when the lion escaped from its holding pen, apparently by lifting a gate that slides open and shut vertically, Fresno County Coroner Dr. David Hadden told Reuters.

Just like a scene out of "Antiques Roadshow," a woman in Hartford, Conn., turned in an old rifle to her local police station´s gun buy-back, only to discover the gun was worth anywhere from $20,000 to $25,000. The woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, inherited the gun from her father who had brought it home with him from Europe as a memento from World War II. The two officers conducting the gun buy-back, who are resident gun experts for the Hartford Police Department, informed the owner she was in possession of a Nazi Assault Rifle, the first of its kind, that dates back to 1944. The gun is called a Sturmgewehr 44, literally meaning "storm rifle," and is the first "modern assault rifle ever made

Former Rep. Anthony Weiner, whose career in public life came to an abrupt end when he sent lewd pictures to a college student on Twitter, jumped back into politics on Wednesday by announcing a bid for mayor of New York City. “Look, I’ve made some big mistakes and I know I’ve let a lot of people down,” the Democrat said in a 2-minute video announcing his bid. “But I’ve also learned some tough lessons. I’m running for mayor because I’ve been fighting for the middle class and those struggling to make it for my entire life.

The public got its first look Thursday at Lois Lerner, who has gone from faceless IRS bureaucrat to the face that launched what feels like 1,000 congressional hearings and conspiracy theories. But it was only a brief sighting since she didn´t stay long at a House hearing to further probe her role in how some IRS workers came to target conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status. (Snip)She did make a short statement to declare her innocence, however. Lerner´s motivation was more transparent than much of what the IRS has done in connection with this controversy. She was determined to

When you get right down to it, the political targeting and stalling of tax-exempt applications by the IRS was an effort to defund the Tea Party. Rick Santelli, one of the Tea Party founders and my CNBC colleague, was the first to make this point. I’ve taken it a step further: The IRS was taking the Tea Party out of play for the 2012 election, as it looked to avoid a repeat of 2010 and another Tea Party landslide. There are a lot of numbers out there.

What´s so interesting about 60 tea partiers protesting the IRS in San Jose, California on Tuesday, May 21st? The fact that this bit of information was conveyed to the protesters by a Department of Homeland Security officer who was also in attendance. What was a DHS agent doing at the San Jose Tea Party protest? (snip) they weren´t just spying on us in San Jose and monitoring us in San Francisco, they were watching us throughout the entire state

On “Fox News Sunday” last weekend, White House aide Dan Pfeiffer was asked about President Barack Obama’s whereabouts the night of the Sept. 11 attack in Benghazi. This was the night when we lost our first ambassador in 30 years, and when three other Americans were killed in an attack that lasted all night long at multiple locations within the eastern Libyan city. Since the president is commander in chief, one would think where he was and what he did during such an event would be of obvious public concern.
