| President Obama will take the oath of office later this month “on a stack of Bibles,” the Washington Post tells us. He will place his left hand on Bibles owned by Abraham Lincoln and the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Well, that’s a relief. Interestingly, not included in the stack is the Koran, about which Mr. Obama spoke so glowingly in Egypt four years ago. (No Bibles openly displayed there.) Now, swearing on a stack of Bibles ordinarily conveys seriousness of purpose and deeper commitment to carry through on the words you have just uttered.

In case you all didn´t know it,the oath of office has been rewritten to exclude enforcing the border or fed pot laws.It also give the president the authority to create unlimited spending by exe. orders and dismisses the 2nd amendment.

He probably chose the Lincoln Bible because O´s favorite Lincoln quote, "You can fool some of the people all the time," illustrates the principle that got him elected and then re-elected. Being the ignoramus that he is, he probably doesn´t know that there are two other clauses in Lincoln´s statement. But the MLK Bible mystifies me: O doesn´t believe in not judging people by the color of their skin and he certainly has shown no evidence that he believes in the importance of the content of people´s character.

FTA: The inauguration of a re-elected president ought to be the occasion for national harmony.... This inauguration, tragically, begins an administration unfettered even by the need to stand for re-election, unafraid of impeachment, and unaccountable to a watchdog press. Instead, we have a lapdog press....Unchecked by the courts and unrestrained by the Congress, President Obama is feeling his power.
This is an exceptionally well-written piece with clarity about what BHO, jr has done and is doing. I just pray (and I do mean pray not just wish) that enough Americans are willing to say STOP!
It deserves to be a Must Read for a week. The bold emphasis is mine - I am shuddering with dread from reading this article.

I don´t understand we even have this ceremony any more - they DO NOT UPHOLD the Constitution and they are lying when they are sworn in. Doesn´t really matter what they put their hands on - as a matter of fact I would prefer the Word of God not even be involved in this!

My thoughts as well #5. Obama should not use a Bible, I agree with Lawrence O´Donnell that Obama doesn´t believe anything in the Bible. It´s an insult to all Christians and God that he would use the Bible. I would rather he be true to who he is and openly use the Koran.

How did we allow so much power to concentrate in one branch of govt? How is it that we cannot find the loyal opposition in the House?
The vast majority of American are angry (especially the rubes who didn´t think they´d get taxed more) and want to oppose.
Yet we shudder and complain all the while we watch an out of control president laugh in our faces, and a media all too willing to bow down in humble adoration.
I still believe in the providence of God-- His will for redemptive glory is using this for our good-- although it is not good that He is allowing.
Ask yourselves-- what good could ever come out of this? Maybe a wholesale change in the way we choose to be governed. The key word is "wholesale".

Their schools will be first class.

WASHINGTON- Senator Elizabeth Warren has found a publisher two months after the Massachusetts Democrat began shopping her book proposal. A large majority of Americans hold a bleak outlook on the state of morality in the United States, as 72% said the nation’s moral values are “getting worse,” and only 20% said that moral values are “getting better,” according to a recent Gallup survey. House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa on Wednesday displayed a string of emails showing his failed efforts to get an update from the Treasury Department inspector general’s office about its investigation into the IRS practice of targeting conservative groups who sought tax-exempt status. One of two men allegedly being questioned in connection with the Boston Marathon bombings was shot and killed by an FBI agent in Florida on Tuesday, (Snip)A friend of Ibragim Todashev said he and Todashev were being investigated as part of the Boston bombings. He said Todashev, 27, knew bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev because both were MMA fighters. The man claims he and Todashev were interviewed by the FBI for nearly three hours on Tuesday. The friend said he left the interview, and when he came back to the apartment he found that there had been a shooting.

The wheels came off the Obama administration yesterday. We learned of a startling assault on freedom of the press by the Department of Justice, following the revelation last week of the unprecedented information-gathering foray by that department against The Associated Press. Then, a few minutes later, the Justice Department’s inspector general released a report declaring that the US attorney in Arizona used the leak of a confidential memo to try to discredit a whistleblower in the notorious “gun-walking” scandal known as Fast and Furious (which got two federal agents killed). The leak was called “egregious.”

WASHINGTON – A top IRS official in the division that reviews nonprofit groups will invoke the Fifth Amendment and refuse to answer questions before a House committee investigating the agency’s improper screening of conservative nonprofit groups. Lois Lerner, the head of the exempt organizations division of the IRS, won’t answer questions about what she knew about the improper screening – or why she didn’t reveal it to Congress, according to a letter from her defense lawyer, William W. Taylor 3rd. Lerner was scheduled to appear before the House Oversight committee Wednesday.
